Just as Norio was about to sit on the couch, he heard a knock at his door. He let out a groan as he walked over to the door. "Who"s there?" He questioned. "It"s your sister." Norio scratched his head. "I have three, which one?" Hiromi opened the door. "Do you really not know our voices by now!?" She huffed as she entered. "Come on in, I guess." He sighed."What are ya freakin" out for?" He questioned. "You know mother is coming home today, right?" Norio slapped his hand to his head. "c.r.a.p." He sighed. "Nori, What are you going to tell her?" Hiromi looked at him. "Hah?" Hiromi pointed at 247, who was napping. "Oh, right." Hiromi huffed. "You can"t just be so nonchalant, about everything all of the time you know!" She cried. "Ah is that so?" Norio said staring blankly across the room. "Seriously! You c-" before she could finish, the door bell rang. "Already!?" Hiromi cried out. "Wake her up, quick!" Norio sat up quickly. "Yeah, great greats up big sis." Hiromi puffed her cheeks. "At least I warned you at all, you brat!" Norio walked into the other room to wake the sleeping child. Hiromi walked over to answer the door.
"Oi, wake up." Norio said shaking the girl. 247 let out a sleepy whine. "You can sleep later, "kay?" The girl slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes. As he walked out of the room he was greeted by Hiromi walking by to hang up their mothers coat. Norio turned his head to see his mother, sitting sipping coffee. "Mother-" He began. "Where is she?" Norio pointed toward the closet. "She"s hanging your coat-" She glared. "The child, Norio." Norio scratched his head. "Hey...kid?" c.r.a.p! She doesn"t have a name yet! He looked around frantically. "Well?" His mother said, keeping a cold gaze set on him. "Yeah...she"s right here." He pointed to 247 who just walked out of the room. "Eh?" The girl stared surprised at the new company. Suddenly, her cold gaze softened as she saw the girl. "Ho? And what is your name?" The girl stared blankly, then up at Norio." She quickly tugged on his sleeve, as he bent down. "Hey, she wants my name!" She whispered frantically. The lady stood up, and started walking over. "I"ll start, my name is Masa." She smiled, extending her hand out to 247. Norio smiled nervously, and quickly shoved the girl over to his mother. "Shake her hand!" He quickly mouthed. 247 shakily lifted her hand. Masa smiled as they shook hands. As Hiromi walked out, she and Norio exchanged nervous looks.
"So, I heard you were fired." Masa said turning to Norio. He sighed. ""I didn"t get fired or nothin", everyone in my department lost their jobs due to the incident." Masa frowned. "I see." She turned to 247, who was seated on Norio"s lap. "That"s where you met my son, is it not?" Oi, mother! Shes only five! You can"t just ask her these kinda questions! Norio looked to Hiromi, who in turn shrugged. "Mm." 247 replied. "I see." Masa smiled. "I guess they didn"t bother giving you a name there hm?" Mother!? Norio looked up at 247, who was silent. "They didn"t." She looked down. "How awful." Masa said sadly. "Well, if you are to live here you must be given a name." 247 looked up quickly. Norio, and Hiromi turned quickly. "Now why does this seem like a surprise to you all?" She smiled. "What, did you think I was going to turn this adorable, yet rugged little girl away?" She turned to Norio. "I took you in, didn"t I?" Norio blushed. "Yeah I guess." Masa stood up. "Seeing my son helping someone in the same position he was once in, it"s quite amazing." She chuckled. Norio stared down at the floor. Hiromi smiled. "Well then," Masa began as she placed down her coffee mug. "I"m exhausted and must take a nap, by the time it"s dinner I hope you can find this poor girl a name." Norio quickly looked up. "I was fortunate, you already came with one." She winked. "Hiromi, my coat please honey?" Hiromi stood up. "Yes mother." She walked over, ruffled 247, and Norio"s heads, and grabbed the coat. "I"ll see you two in a few hours then." Masa smiled, as she waved. "Don"t be late!" Hiromi waved, closing the door.
"Are you sure?" The girl questioned, sitting on the chair next to the man. "Sure about what?" He asked, not looking up from the computer. "Can I really, really live here?" Norio let out a sigh. "The h.e.l.l do ya think you"ve been doing?" 247 puffed her cheeks. "But-" Norio suddenly sat up in his seat. "What?" She questioned. "Nothin, just mind your own business, Emersyn." The girl growled, but quickly stopped. "Eh?" She stood up, running over to his chair. He smiled. "I think this name suits you perfectly." The girl skimmed the definition on the screen. Her eyes twinkled. "Really!?" She quickly spun his chair around to face her. "Really!?" She repeated. "You better like it, I"m not changin" it." He turned back toward the computer. "No! I love it!" She huffed. Norio smiled softly as he went to bookmark the page. "Emersyn." She beamed. "Mhm, Emersyn." He repeated, ruffling her hair.
