Side Story: A Certain Pair on a Certain Day

It was late at night. Everyone but Lefi and I had long gone to bed, which meant we were in the middle of our usual nightly routine.
“Boardahahaa games are supposed to be playyahhahaaedd on the board!” I shouted between frantic giggles. “Attackingahaha meeeeehihihi directly like that is totally cheating!”
“If that is what you believe, then you are but a naive fool,” said Lefi. “An off-board play is but another part of my strategy, one that is centered around the use of all available resources.”
She had slipped her hands under my pajamas in order to tickle the s.h.i.+t out of me and make it harder for me to make rational decisions.
“Ghaawhaahaad f.u.c.king d.a.m.n it!” I shouted as I pushed my rook forward. “I’ll stilililillll kick your a.s.s!”
“You only need to apologize and admit defeat,” she said. “And you must not be so loud. It was difficult to put the children to sleep, and we need not for you to awaken them.”
“Fuaamahahahack! Fine! Two can play dirty, Lefi!” I smirked as I grabbed the dragon’s tail.
“Uhyan!?”
She nearly jumped out of her socks. Her shoulders froze up the moment I took the soft squishy appendage into my hands.
“D-do not touch my tail!”
“Nice ‘uhyan.’ It was totally adorable,” I said, with a s.h.i.+t-eating grin.
“D-d.a.m.n you!”
She growled at me with her face flushed as red as a tomato.
“You see, Lefi, I know all of your weaknesses,” I said with a cackle. “You and I both know that you like having your scales scratched and that you love it when people stroke the underside of your tail.”
I ran my hand along her tail. The sensation of touching it was absolutely unparalleled, so I decided to take things to the next level. I pulled it to my lips and wrapped my lips around it, biting down gently. Delicious.
“D-doododododdododo not lick my tail!” she squealed.
“Lefi, please. Keep your voice down, you’ll wake the kids up,” I said, as I moved another piece. “Oh and that’s checkmate, by the way. Get rekt.”
“What!? When and how!? I cannot believe this! Your means are those of a coward!”
“Says you… Weren’t you literally just advocating the exact same s.h.i.+t?”
“I demand a rematch,” she grumbled.
“If you insist,” I said. “I’m not exactly one to turn down a challenge. You see, kings like me know that showing plebs their place is just another part of the job.”
“A ridiculous claim! It has long been known that those who rest on their laurels are fated to have the rugs pulled from under their feet!”
And so, round two began.

“I need… to pee…”
Illuna woke up in the middle of the night. She slowly crawled out of bed and began walking around in the dark with her eyes half open. Though half unconscious, she was able to make it to and use the bathroom. Once she was done, she washed her hands and headed back to the living room, the room in which her bed was placed. Her eyes were more accustomed to the darkness this time, so she was able to make out two humanoid shapes. Her mind, less hazy than it was before, immediately jumped to the conclusion that Yuki and Lefi had once again failed to make it to bed.
They were both asleep, lying next to each other with their heads touching. The chess board that they’d been using was left out and untidied, which meant they had once again pa.s.sed out in the middle of a game.
The s.p.a.ced out vampire suddenly arrived at an excellent idea. She grabbed her blanket from her bed, squeezed between them, and covered all three of them with the large quilt. The fact that she was lying on the ground and not a mattress made her somewhat uncomfortable. She didn’t exactly appreciate that it was a bit of a tight squeeze, but at the same time, she did. Being between them put her mind at ease and filled her with warmth.
With a big happy smile plastered across her face, the young vampire closed her eyes and drifted off to the land of dreams.
