Her words sent a s.h.i.+ver down my spine. Her eyes were filled with tears as she looked back at me. "The G.o.ddess does not want this to happen. So you must get stronger. we have to finish this dungeon. Only with the blessing she can give you do you have a chance." Tears continued to flow from her eyes as she spoke. and yet her face was filled with determination. "The dungeon only has one more floor. it is below. However it is the boss floor, and the Boss is on the verge of breaking into B rank. we have to kill it. Even if facing it is certain death."

She did not say another word as she jumped into the portal that went down. There was no notification of entering a new floor, but my body could feel the all too familiar sense of traveling, yet being in the same spot. Soon Pain racked my body as holy energy surrounded me.

I fell to the floor panting heavily. When I looked up Alex was already in combat. Her giant hammer flas.h.i.+ng in a speed I had never seen from her. It dawned on me that she must have activated her only skill. [Blood Rage] which doubled her strength and agility but at the cost of her defense.

The creature she was fighting was similar to how we portray death on earth, a 4 meter tall skeleton in a black robe with glowing red eyes. In it"s hands was a giant scythe.

[Wraith]

A servant of undeath. It attacks with its powerful scythe made of bone and death energy. It has the capability to summon up to 20 skeletal soldiers at a time.

It has incredible speed and strength. It is immune to poison damage, but weak to holy damage.

I cursed in my mind. This was not a fight I could help with. My only ability was my poison, Without that I was basically useless. I stood there as I was forced to observe the battle.

Allex did not hold anything back as her maul flashed through the air. The hammer repeatedly struck the body of the Wraith, the impacts causing a loud crunching sound with every hit. The crunches were followed by a sickening slurping sound mixed with the grinding sound of bones rubbing together. I could only a.s.sume it was the sound of the bones putting themselves back together.

Suddenly the scythe flashed out faster than it had before. It was not a slash, but rather a thrust that threw Alex against the stone wall that surrounded us. The Wraith Lifted its scythe into the air as a black pit appeared underneath it. From the pit 20 skeletons appeared. Some of them carried blades, some of them carried bows, and one of them held a staff.

The skeletons were immune to poison damage as well, just like on the previous floor. However I had already learned how to deal with these. Orbs began to fly from my pistols as I repeatedly targeted the skeletons. The mage was my first target. The mage managed to cast a spell before it fell. A series of fireb.a.l.l.s reigned down from the sky, covering the area I was standing in.

I used my abnormal agility tonmy advantage and dodged through the rain of fire, but still managed to get hit a couple of times. I could feel my hp drop as pain swelled in my body. I did not have time to focus on it though as a rain of arrows soon followed.

I met the arrows with a barrage of my own orbs, but by then the skeletons with swords had already approached. I was forced to dance between them, my improved dexterity came into play as the control over my own body was needed to block the plethora of swords that thrusted and slashed at me.

The skeletal archers paid their brethren no mind as they once again let fly a volley of arrows. There was a total of five archers, meaning 5 arrows flew at my as indanced between the skeletal soldiers. It was impossible to dodge them all. even with my speed. An arrow struck me in my left arm, causing my arm to go limp for a moment. I ignored the pain as I put the pistol I had in that hand back in my inventory.

Without the burden of dual casting my accuracy grew much higher as I fired orbs repeatedly at the archers. I managed to fell three of them, but at the cost of a few shallow cuts across my body. Blood had already stained my new clothes, and I couldn"t not help but tsk at the thought of my mothers scolding.

Even as I fought for my life with the Skeletons, Alex was fighting for our lives against the Wraith. Her small body was dwarfed by the wrsith, making her seem like a child. The look of fury on her face was not for show though as she continually bashed the Wraith with her hammer.

Sparks flew after Alex struck with a particularly large amount of force, complelty dislodging one of the Wraiths arms as the said arm flew against the stone wall and disintraged. The wraith roared in rage, but grabbed the scythe with its single arm as began its clumsy a.s.sault.

The Wraiths power had vastly diminished with the loss of its arm. but Alex was slowing st a visible rate. Her movements were becoming slower, and it seemed she was fighting to stay conscious. Something would have to be done or this fight would really end in our deaths.
