Deep in the forests of Vindhyas, there was a cave.. no one ventured so deep into the forest since it was the heart of forest where wild animals existed... the Cam.o.f.olague was so thick that even sun rays could not penetrate that area..even in broad daylight, the area felt cool and isolated... there was a fresh water lake nearby the cave.. wild animals often came there to quench their thirst..Inside the cave, lived an ancient tribe, no one knows of their existence.. they were dark skinned and they covered themselves with leaves and animal hides.. women shaved their heads and wore ornaments carved out of animal bones.. the language they spoke was not scripted and couldn"t be deciphered by anyone..
This tribe had an amazing affinity to snakes.. many poisonous and non poisonous snakes freely moved in and out of the cave.. even children played with them and the snakes never harmed them..
They had extensive knowledge of poisons, in case there was a person affected by any kind of poison, they had the ability to cure him... every child was injested with some snake poison from childhood so that they become resistant to every poison in the world as they grew up... Takshaka was king of snakes according to ancient Indian mythology.. this tribe worshipped Takshaka as their deity..
The cave was exceedingly huge.. the whole inside of a mountain was used as their cave, there were a few thousand people in this tribe, they co-existed peacefully without much conflicts.. all children were commonly raised without any bias, no one ventured out of the forest.. whatever they needed was provided by mother nature and they in turn protected the nature..
Besides this, they had one major responsibility.. they were the guardians of the greatest treasure, they never had any use for money, but from the time of their ancestors, they acted as guardians as their clan leader once made a promise to safeguard the treasure..
There was an alliance of emperors, who came to their clan head and asked them to help and protect the treasure, they handed over mounds of gold, precious gems, etc.. to them.. they said only when the country faces a huge crisis, that treasure must be used.. and moreover.. there was no mention of this treasure in any of the historical records..it was only pa.s.sed on mouth to mouth from one generation emperor to the next generation emperor.. and they were strictly instructed not to go looking for the treasure out of greed, of they did they would die a painful death..
There was a person called Varaha who came long back into their cave by accident, he was bitten by a snake.. the antidote preparation required gold.. so they used the gold from the treasure.. once Varaha got cured, he saw that there were traces of gold in the medical concoction given to him.. he asked the clan leader about it.. the leader immediately dismissed him..
This small time king Varaha was able to befriend a woman of the tribe, with her help he was able to know the details of the treasure, it was him who wrote that ancient scroll that got into Mirza"s hands.. the woman was able to understand that he might harm their tribe for gold, so she administered a snake poison to him in his food without his knowledge and left him at the borders of the forest..
Without any help, he died.. some pa.s.sersby came and saw that his skin turned blue and there was a mark of snake fangs on his ankle, thus they concluded that he died of a snake bite, one of them took the scroll thinking that it would be of some importance, but since it was written in Persian he couldn"t decipher it.. he sold it in flea market for some gold coins...
