A Spoilt Princess

Chapter 251

Sitting around the dining table, just as always, Cai near Kai, the old man opposite the new error, Roline. and Tong opposite Linda. at fast, the old man thought it wasn"t going to work with Roline around but surprising, she was much calmer than certain individuals. Linda couldn"t control her breathing, she wanted someone out of her face.

"Grandfather, when are holding a ceremony here again? I miss those jealous eyes, people were dying that night, remember?"

"I do haha! though it"s sad uncle doesn"t..." he answered as if hitting onto something but no one responded and from the looks of it, Roline didn"t care.

"I know but I like him that way, he is my favourite anyways. Cai shrugged her shoulders before smiling at An kai"

"Are you willing to die for him then?"

"Absolutely not, I love my mommy more but for the start, I can stay awake for him...I think..." she answered truthfully. but hearing such a smoothe conversation between the old man and Cai, Linda looked at Roline who had her head down, fork in hand but didn"t lift it up to eat."

"Would you prefer chopsticks? they can get you a pair. with the kind gesture, the maid who wasn"t far away went ahead and brought over a pair but Roline didn"t even touch them. An kai who had long noticed her lack of appet.i.te looked at the platter she was eating from before he took the unused bowel on the table, filled it with rice under everyone"s gaze, he exchanged it with the platter making everyone pause in their actions. Tong had kept herself low key but this action startled her almost immediately!

Under everyone"s" gaze, An kai went back to his own business without looking at anyone.

"It"s had to eat using chopsticks on a plate just as this one, knocking her spoon on the platter she was eating from, Cai explained. Roline was still ignoring everyone by keeping quiet and head low, but hearing the sound of a metal clicking onto the gla.s.s, she raised her face to Cai.

Wasn"t she supposed to say thank you? Cai wondered but noticing the food in her mother"s bowl, she turned to An kai: rice alone doesn"t taste good, uncle. indirectly telling him to do something about the situation.

Roasted rainbow carrots, beef stew, skillet chicken and finally, the spicy chicken stir-fry...An kai darted his eyes around the table to find what could fit the letter"s taste but he could not decide. he looked at Roline"s former plate-relived, he opened the dish and scoped a whole big spoon of spiced chicken stew right into the bowl before Roline.

"Mommy...Cai wanted to say something but then, Roline picked a fork and started eating completely pushing Cai"s concerns down her throat. her mommy doesn"t like spiced foods and in fact, she hated them but then, why did she seem to enjoy them now?...."

Having known Roline for over a decade, Linda too knew how the woman who seemed to enjoy her food hated spiced "everything." she hated the way her cheeks would redden afterwards but she didn"t forget the fact that the chopsticks were not used, not even touched.

Hearing Cai"s waves of laughter from the room above, splint second smile appeared onto Roline"s face before she looked into the distance and, she very soon realised how An kai was able to see them even without answering his phone. right from where she stood, she could see anyone coming and going, through the sight may not be so clear, you can still tell someone who is familiar to you. she held onto the rails and breathed in very deeply, "I will not forget anything about this day, even if it"s the only thing I remember...." she said with her eyes closed before letting her breath out once again...

"The sight is pretty good here, so bad you can cherish it." a voice drifted into Roline"s ear, instantly darkening her mood. I hope you get this straight, some things are just never meant to be...

"What,....like our friendship?"

"Those were fairly tales and by the way, our wedding is in two weeks. I hope you can make it there"

moving closer, Roline looked at Linda...I used to feel proud of you, I even sometimes used to envy you. a dearling family, great background and undeniably great looks. you can be anything Linda, staying here will always be the worst decision you have ever made. but challenging me will be your biggest regret! We can share anything till this day: clothes, beds, seats and exchange anything but some things are never meant to be shared, and An kai happens to be one of them. I don"t want to be any less than the Roline you know but for him, I can absolutely be anything and much worse than what you have ever imagined!

"Is that a threat?" she sneered!

"In two weeks, huh? then see everything you have worked for crumble into ashes! with no minute to waste, Roline walked away leaving Linda smirking at her d.a.m.n threats- just wait!...."
