Chapter 0968: Lantern Bearer
The hall that was just raging with wild energy a moment ago fell into silence. If not for the debris that remained on the ground, Li Luo might have thought that he had been hallucinating the entire time.
The three remaining disciples stood quietly on the stone platform, showing no further signs of hostility.
Li Luo was filled with mixed feelings. A few moments later, he slowly walked towards the stone platform. He then stretched out his hand, the small Acquired Resonance Flame still hovering on his palm.
The dragon sigil between his eyebrows was still glowing, his body was still tense, and his resonant power was still activated. He dared not let his guard down for even a moment.
Maintaining constant vigilance, he approached the stone platform once again. The disciples did not stop him this time.
Li Luo was able to reach the stone cup successfully.
With a wave of his sleeves, the Spirit Resonance Golden Dew inside it floated into the air. Not wasting a single second more, he took out his jade bottle and collected the dew.
The process was so smooth that it was almost unbelievable. The three guardians stood on the side, showing no intention to obstruct him at all.
Li Luo was pleasantly surprised as he studied that Acquired Resonance Flame on his palm.
Based on the reactions of the disciples, it was clear that not every member of the sect was allowed to cultivate the Acquired Resonance Flame. One required at least a respectable rank within the Sacred Void Resonance Sect to be allowed to do so.
In addition, these disciples were just replicas. They did not have the mind and awareness of real people. Hence, they had determined that Li Luo was a respected individual from the Sacred Void Resonance Sect and stopped their attacks immediately.
Li Luo then tried to control the disciples using his Acquired Resonance Flame. However, they did not show any reaction despite his numerous attempts, so he had to give up on this idea.
"Forget it. It"s already good enough that I can avoid getting attacked," Li Luo commented with a laugh. He did not hang around any longer and walked back onto the silent pathway, following along it in search of further clues.
Although ten droplets of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew was not a small amount, it was still insufficient for him. He had to continue searching for more.
In the next hour, Li Luo managed to find quite a few more cups. However, some of them had already been shattered and there was no Spirit Resonance Golden Dew to be found. As a result, he only managed to get a few dozen droplets of dew on his subsequent search.
As time continued ticking by, Li Luo began to sense movement coming from behind him. It was clear that others had entered the gilded hall too.
There were quite a few strong undulations of resonant power as well. However, he was not sure if this was due to fights among the rogue cultivators themselves or if they were fighting against the Sacred Void Resonance Sect"s disciples.
"I have to hurry up," Li Luo muttered to himself.
Although the gilded hall was vast, there would be fewer droplets of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew left for him as more rogue cultivators entered. He had to ensure that a sufficient amount was obtained for himself before these people appeared for a slice of the pie.
With that in mind, lightning crackled beneath Li Luo"s feet and he zoomed into the distance ahead.
As he traveled deeper in, he suddenly began to sweat profusely. The dragon sigil between his eyebrows also began to hurt.
Li Luo stopped in his tracks immediately. He knew that this was a signal from his body that there was a life-threatening presence somewhere nearby.
Li Luo scanned his surroundings with a serious look on his face. His fingers were placed on the crimson bracelet containing the Three-tailed Heavenly Wolf.
Given that the Spiritual Resonance Cave had a cultivation level restriction, he would not dare to use the power of the wolf unless he absolutely had to. He was afraid this would cause an abrupt and unexpected effect in the s.p.a.ce around him. However, he would disregard the rules if he was truly thrown into a life-or-death situation. Additionally, there should not be too much of a commotion if he only tapped into part of the Three-tailed Heavenly Wolf"s power.
As soon as he entered a state of high alert, Li Luo heard faint footsteps coming from the end of the pathway shrouded in mist. The steps sounded light, but he could not tell who or what it was exactly.
He stared without batting an eyelid.
A few moments later, someone emerged from the faint mist. It was the figure of a human, but he was somewhat illusory. Clearly, this was not an actual man.
He was wearing the familiar Sacred Void Resonance Sect robes. However, his robes contained golden threads and were clearly more elaborate and delicately designed than those of the previous disciples.
"Another energy replica from the Sacred Void Resonance Sect?" Li Luo thought to himself. He could not understand why this energy replica was wandering aimlessly around here though.
As Li Luo looked at him anxiously, he noticed that the illusory replica was holding onto a bronze oil lamp. However, there was no flame.
The replica tightly grabbed onto the bronze oil lamp and said, his hollow voice echoing in the air, "The flame has died out. The flame has died out..."
Li Luo swallowed his saliva as he listened to the eerie echo. He did not dare to make any hasty moves before he figured out what exactly was going on with this replica. The last thing he wanted was to trigger any defensive mechanisms and end up in a battle.
As such, Li Luo stood on the same spot without moving a single step. He opened his eyes widely and observed the mysterious replica floating closer to him on the pathway before disappearing into the distance again.
“Phew.”
Li Luo finally heaved a sigh of relief as he saw the lantern bearer disappear from his sight. “Was he referring to the flame in the lantern in his hand?
“What"ll happen if I help him light the lantern again?
“However, there’s no way an ordinary flame would work…”
As Li Luo thought about this, his expression suddenly changed. “Could it be the Acquired Resonance Flame? “
Nonetheless, Li Luo kept this thought in his mind and did not dwell on it any further. It would not be wise to approach that man recklessly. He could give it a try after he had collected enough Spirit Resonance Golden Dew.
For now, it was better to wait.
With that in mind, Li Luo did not hang around any longer and continued down the pathway, this time in the opposite direction from where the lantern bearer had disappeared to.
After a few dozen minutes, Li Luo paused in his tracks once again. A hall with a concealed gate had appeared right beside him.
He could sense strong and condensed energy waves undulating from it.
Li Luo was. .h.i.t with extreme excitement and moved towards it immediately. He paused at a spot several feet away from the gate and glanced inside. His eyes burned with excitement from what he witnessed. The courtyard behind the gate was far larger than the locations he had seen previously. The stone cup that stood in the center was overflowing with golden light. It seemed like there was quite a lot of Spirit Resonance Golden Dew inside it.
"Finally." Li Luo prepared to head towards it, controlling his surprise.
Just as he was about to push open the gate, water materialized in front of him. It expanded to form a veil, covering up the entrance completely.
Li Luo frowned at the sudden development. He slowly turned around.
There was a charming fairy not far behind him, walking towards him with light steps. Her long hair hung down her slender waist like a smooth waterfall, and her beautiful eyes reflected the world like a crystal-clear mirror.
"Fairy Qin, you sure are fast," Li Luo said with a smile.
He pointed to the hall at his back and continued, "Everyone gets a share. If you are interested, we can discuss how to split it."
Qin Yi looked back at Li Luo with her pretty eyes. Her red lips pouted a little as she replied with a slight smile, "If I say I want to have it all, would you be willing to give in, Dragon"s Head Li Luo?"
Hearing this, Li Luo sighed helplessly.
As expected, it was impossible for Qin Yi and him to cooperate peacefully. The enmity from their previous generation was far too great. They were destined to be foes rather than friends.
Previously, they had cooperated purely out of necessity. Now that Qin Yi had encountered him alone, she would surely think about acting against him.
Perhaps she wanted to find out just how strong Li Luo had gotten. However, if Li Luo"s performance didn’t meet her expectations...
The test would become a battle of life and death instantly.
