Brianna was surprised to see that Quentin took her to the performance of Seattle"s symphony. They got their seats in the VIP tier, which features private booths. Their booth was close to the orchestra in the auditorium, providing a perfect view of the stage below.
Champagne and impeccably shaped and seasoned bite-sized snacks that staff refilled endlessly were just right.
After three violinists finished their pieces, Seattle"s symphony shook Brianna"s heart with their flawless performance of Dvorak"s Symphony No. 9 "From the New World".
From the first to last note, Brianna was clutching the railing of their private booth and she was barely breathing. The acoustic is amazing, and she felt the music coursing through her and making her emotions swell to the point of her tearing up.
When the performance ended, Brianna exhaled and turned to Quentin.
Only then she realized that he is observing her. She smiled.
Since they reached the auditorium, Quentin"s eyes didn"t leave Brianna. He observed her smile and the way her expressions changed as the music took her to various places and he knew that he got this one right.
After lunch, in the car, Quentin noticed that Brianna closed her eyes and smiled when Dvorak was on the radio and he guessed that it"s one of her favorite composers. He knows the current repertoire of Seattle"s symphony, and he messaged Kendra to get them best seats in the house.
Brianna"s smile which reaches her eyes is a confirmation that his decision was correct. He gave himself a silent thumbs-up.
By the time performance ended, it was past dinner time, but luckily they had snacks and champagne in their booth, so Brianna was not starving.
Quentin planned dinner as well.
On the way to the restaurant, they didn"t talk. Brianna was coming down from her high caused by the emotional musical performance and Quentin enjoyed the silence while stealing glances of Brianna, his fiery G.o.ddess.
Quentin held her hand and led the way up the spiral staircase. It looked like they are climbing a medieval tower, and she didn"t know what to expect because from the outside it appeared that Quentin parked next to tall rock and the entry door was hidden behind it. Definitely not a usual restaurant setting.
Brianna inhaled and placed her palm over her chest at the stunning sight of an open-terrace with a great view of Settle"s nightlights, Seattle"s great wheel and the s.p.a.ce Needle. In the middle of the terrace was one round table, set up for two. Candles and flower petals on the table were an extra touch for establishing a romantic atmosphere under the cloudless night sky speckled with stars.
Quentin held the chair for Brianna and as soon as he took his seat, a waiter showed up with two menus.
Brianna was distracted by the sound of a violin. She turned and saw a young man performing for them from the side. It must be for them, because they are the only ones here!
Brianna heard about these exclusive places which cater to couples and small groups who can afford them, but this is the first time she actually got into one for dinner. It"s difficult to get a spot because they are usually booked for months in advance, and Brianna knows that Quentin found out only few hours ago that she will have a dinner with him. Is it possible that he is so well connected to get this place on a short notice, or did he have this booked in advance and any girl would do? Brianna did her best to dismiss those thoughts because it does not matter. She is here, with Quentin, and she should enjoy it.
The service was swift and discrete. And the food was delicious and perfectly plated.
"Tell me what you do in New York… on a usual day…", Quentin asked Brianna.
Brianna shook her head slightly. "I don"t have a usual day. That is for people with jobs."
"You pay for your bills somehow, right?"
Brianna confirmed. "Mia and I have a travel blog and a YouTube channel. We have a number of sponsors and branded merchandize. It"s nothing too jazzy, but it"s enough that we don"t need to rely on our families."
Quentin asked about the address of the blog and the name of the YouTube channel. He will make sure to check them out later.
He thought about what she said, and her words how she does not want to rely on her family stood out. "You don"t get along with your family?"
Brianna shrugged. "My family is… complicated. They have a different idea what I should do with my life."
"Like…?", Quentin persisted.
Brianna can see that he is trying to find out more about her. But she does not think that there is anything exciting about her family or her past. "There is nothing more to it. I"m not a tortured soul, I just want to be free and enjoy my life. My family is into banking and I grew up listening to stories about opening new branches, calculating interests, benefits of savings and investments. Once every quarter my father would sit with me and ask me about my goals for the next twelve months, and next five years, how I will accomplish them, and what is the status on the goals I set three months ago. And I wanted to travel and make movies, to do what feels good in the moment and not chase bullet points which I wrote down months ago."
She observed his unreadable expression. "Did I disappoint you?"

"No. I know that you are a free spirit. Things like a routine and schedules would suffocate you."
Brianna smiled. She likes that he called her a "free spirit".
Quentin lifted his hand toward Brianna, palm up. "Can I interest you in a dance?"
Brianna inhaled sharply when Quentin started by twirling her and she held her breath when his arm landed on her back, holding her firmly in place, close to him… so close that their bodies stuck to each other and their noses almost touched.
For a second, everything was still… and then they started moving slowly, following the sound of the violin.
"How am I doing?", Quentin asked.
"It depends. What is your goal?"
"I thought you dislike goals."
Brianna smiled. "Touché. Let me correct myself… What do you want to happen by end of this evening?"
"I want you to fall for me.", Quentin admitted.
Brianna tilted her head slightly, surprised by his statement. "Everything you did is right, but…"
"But?"
"You said it… I am a free spirit. Falling for someone means that I will not be free." Brianna noticed that he smiled. "You don"t believe me?"
Quentin tightened his hold on Brianna and his intense dark eyes locked onto hers. "Oh, I believe you. But I also heard you saying that everything I did is right. If I do everything right enough times, you will fall for me. It might not happen by end of the evening, but I am not in a rush."
Brianna smirked smugly. She likes his confidence. "There is only one way to find out if your theory is valid."
He made her twirl again, before pulling her close to him.
Quentin"s hand moved to the back of Brianna"s head and he made her bend backward. Brianna expected that he will lift her up, but instead… his lips landed on hers.
She was not sure if she is still bending backward, or maybe forward, because it felt like she is floating.
Brianna held onto Quentin"s shoulders while his flavors mixed with hers and she confirmed (again) that he is definitely much more than a nine.
"What do you want to do?", Quentin asked breathlessly after a long and sensual make-out session.
Brianna looked into his eyes which burned with desire and she breathed like there is not enough oxygen. "What are my options?"
"We can dance, have more champagne, or… go to my place."
Brianna licked her lips slowly. "I drank enough, and we danced, so…"
Quentin smiled. "My place it is."
