Around the afternoon, Jiang Mingyue exited the palace and headed towards her grandfather"s small infirmary. When she arrived, she could hear someone screamed in pain.Mingyue found Han Zhenting in the small room, st.i.tching up a man"s stomach. Two of Han Zhenting"s a.s.sistant was holding the man, and another one stood beside him to a.s.sist him with the procedure.
It looked like the man had an accident that caused a deep injury on his stomach. A woman, probably the man"s family member stayed outside the room with worry on her face.
Mingyue stood at the corner of the room to observe her grandfather"s suturing techniques. She stayed close enough to see her grandfather"s movement, but far enough so that she will not be disturbing those at work.
Although her grandfather is getting older, he had good eyesight. His hand moved quickly and precisely.
After a while, Han Zhenting cut off the thread around the man"s stomach. He stood up and saw his granddaughter stood at the corner of the room. Han Zhenting smiled at her before he gave a few instructions to his a.s.sistants. Then, he went out to meet the man"s family member.
Han Zhenting talked to the woman and explained the man"s situation.
The woman nodded a few times. She thanked Han Zhenting before she walked in into the room to see her husband.
Han Zhenting watched the woman entered the room. Then he turned to Mingyue and said, "Come with me."
Mingyue followed her grandfather inside his resting room. She watched Han Zhenting washed his hand with warm lemon water and dried his hand with a towel.
"I heard from your Yang Yun that you did not return to home last night. That boy was worried over you," Han Zhenting said. His voice was soft. He poured them some tea and sat down at the stool. "Did something happened to Her Highness?"
Mingyue nodded slowly.
Han Zhenting sighed. His forehead wrinkled as she looked at Mingyue with concern. "How is she now?"
"She"s getting better now," Jiang Mingyue said. She took a seat across her grandfather and bit her lips. "Grandfather, I have something to discuss with you."
Hearing this, Han Zhenting raised a brow. "What is it?"
"It"s about Her Highness," Mingyue spoke in a whisper. Then, she started to describe the strange pulse. "Grandfather, what do you think about this?"
Han Zhenting thought about the strange pulse Mingyue had described to him. "If that is true, then it is possible that someone or something had triggered the poison in Lingchen"s body." He looked at Mingyue and his frown deepened. "Have you talk to her about this?"
Mingyue shook her head. "I haven"t. I wasn"t sure with my diagnosis. I didn"t want to jump into conclusion. That"s why I came to look for you to discuss this matter first."
"You should tell Lingchen about this matter. Let her be wary with the people around her." Han Zhenting said. "I will ask your brother to a.s.sign people to look after her."
