Chapter 7-2NOVEMBER 22, 2016 / ALBERTKENOREIJOU
From the start, Mary was someone farfetched to star as a villainous lady.
That being said she’s not exactly the nicest person either. She tended to draw a line with strangers, and even she came to dislike somebody she’d not bully them.
Had she disliked or hated a person and harbored a great reluctance on them, innocuously she’d put a distance until her feelings gradually fade-out.
‘Kicking them out from her territory, furthermore utilizing her parents’ might to squash them’, from Mary’s perspective ‘It’s surprising how someone can exert so much efforts for the sake of their adversary.’
Mary was that kind of an individual. Regardless of her eminently low status, and the fact that she went to St. Karelia, Mary had zero motive to torment a girl she’d never seen in their first encounter.
Albeit she was forced into the role by her game memories, Mary Albert had no obligation to follow through it.
“Ojou, more than anybody you’re a prideful one. Thus, notwithstanding you hold your previous life memories or whether this world is a game, you won’t become a villainous lady.”
“Oh my, you’re pretty certain about this.”
“I’ve been by your side for a long time already. Hence I could confidently allege, Villainous Lady Mary is the type of character you spurn the most.”
Since Addie said it with much conviction, Mary slightly raised the corner of her mouth.
Mary Albert was quite an oddball of a lady.
Whereas she’s a princess of Albert House, second in supremacy just after the royalties, she never brandished and abused her position.
Whenever Mary wished for it she could easily transform St. Karelia as she see fit, but alas the aforementioned had no incentive, contrarily preferring to conform to the school’s rules and inconspicuously living her life.
Moreover, she could unperturbedly accomplish things necessary, like pedaling a bike to save times.
She’d express her complain for Addie’s preposterous insolence as a servant nevertheless didn’t punish him, she could be careless toward any impertinence the other servants displayed to her as well.
The other day, because the lack of manpower she was asked to peel some beans in the kitchen.
——-Of course she grumbled “Hey, I’m the lady of this house, you know? Hey~, everyone are you listening?”…. while she peeled those beans ————-
That un-aristocratic-like Mary, was the focus of St. Karelia students’ scrutiny, oftentimes she was ridiculed by them in cacophonous voices.
In particular, Mary was a good friend of Patrick; almost all the schoolgirls’ population’s jealousy fell on her. Jealousy mixed with mockeries, the gazes directed on her were by any means not an agreeable thing.
Thanks to it, she was transparently teased to be ‘un-lady like’ or ‘not suited to be an Albert’, nonetheless Mary paid no mind.
“You’re that kind of person, Ojou; I felt it peculiar that you’d be interested to act as villainous lady just because your past memories a.s.saulted you.”
Addie a.s.serted without any hesitation. Mary shrugged her shoulders in respond.
“My thoughts exactly, no matter what reasons are there, I’ve no intention to flip-flop into that kind of unsightly woman.”
Mary affirmed in frosty tenor, people who didn’t know her true nature would without doubt questioned their own ears.
When she acted as a proper lady, or when she’s being eccentric Mary, both of those personas had never verbalized something in such emotionless timbre.
However for Addie who recognized her tone, her voice which was remarkably artic, her sharp orbs that ostensibly gazing at something incomprehensible, right now he’s reaffirming Mary’s extraordinary pride.
She accepted her attendance’s audacity, she’s whispered as a crackpot in the school; people were saying that Mary had no pride for disregarding them.
But, there’s no way it’s like that. Her definition of pride was different.
Despite many people were to mock Mary, seeds of jealousy brought ill rumor to spread, Mary’s pride laid entirely elsewhere. Therefore devoid of any scar, she could stay aloof.
Hence n.o.body realized. Or, when the truth dawned on them it’s already too late. Patrick didn’t meddle on Addie and Mary quirky relationship was because he had perceived a glimpse of Mary’s pride.
Subsequently, Addie’s in thought. The girl wouldn’t aspire to be villainous lady.
And the real Mary had professed that she had no desire to. Still she was imitating the game Mary – although most of it ended up in failure – to intervene Alicia’s path, in other meaning Mary was……..
“……. You’re only aiming on the destruction end.”
“Oh dear, what a slowpoke. I’ve always declared that ‘I wish for destruction’, yet I never once stated ‘I want to be a villainous lady’.”
As Mary admitted indifferently, Addie spontaneously held his head.
What a person……. While he thought so, conversely, he believed this was Mary Albert supposed to be.
“And, will you elaborate why ‘destruction’ is your objective?”
“…………Hey, Addie. Do you think Albert House is enormous?”
Mary offered her already emptied teacup. Obviously Addie as her attendance understood her tacit gesture; he picked a teapot and poured another share.
Mary gratefully retrieved it back, and naturally flew her attention from the teacup to the scenery outside the window. Within the veiled darkness of night, Albert House’s mansion could be seen.
At these hours of night only few lights stayed flickering, just a silhouette of the big mansion could be perceived. But at day, as the starlight shone on it one should be able to fathom how much supremacy its owner has.
Its walls unblemished with cracks, its windows were stupendously crafted; from the constantly polished gla.s.s window, corridors ornate with fine arts were apparent. The entrance at front was bedecked with stained gla.s.s however from this building which was located behind the mansion, one couldn’t see it.
Even if someone was to search every crannies of the whole land, they’d not find a mansion this impressive. No, probably overseas as well.
Hence, when they first laid their eyes on every single individual was overwhelmed by its luxury, likewise was forced to acknowledge Albert House’s hegemony.
A n.o.ble’s mansion was a symbol of authority it embraces.
Squandering gold equaled to superiority, maintaining spectacular images indicated their opulence; their authority went side by side as their magnificence. Therefore n.o.bles are inviting each other to their respective mansions for parties.
“That kind of mansion, even Dice House doesn’t have it.”
“Well, we’re talking about Albert House here.”
“True enough, it’s Albert House after all. ……….That’s why, Addie”
*clink* along a soft sound, Mary placed her teacup down.
“Albert House has become too big.”
