Sam could identify the traces of pain in his voice. "You know your sister well than anybody... His left leg knee cap cracked, can"t use right-hand palm and right hand if he doesn"t receive proper treatment. Two ribs were broken plus internal stomach injuries. All single strike with all her strength."Sam paused purposefully and heard Jai taking a deep breath before asking, "How long did she cry after that?"
"It was nothing much. ONLY Forty-two minutes. She almost fainted when she got up. Arlo carried her."
Sam purposefully stressed "nothing much" and "only" so that for him to know she had cried later for a long time because of him.
Jai didn"t say anything other than clenching his fist tighter.
Sam continued after a few seconds, "I must say, your sister is brave too other than ruthless when it"s about you guys. She would run miles seeing a kitty or a puppy but she shot tiger to save Arlo, ran between hundreds of snakes, even entered water clenching her teeth. We thought she couldn"t make it if she sees dead bodies but her determination was stronger. The rappeling turned out to be canyoning but she didn"t stop. Arlo"s men missed the track of you guys, Sky"s intuition, a.n.a.lyzation, and judgment brought her to you when you were waiting for your death."
He gave some time before continuing, "We had no hopes in the forest but your sister didn"t give up there and in the hospital too... We had sedated her for seven times to let her sleep after crying for hours. Arlo had to stay by her side whenever she was falling asleep else she would get dreams about animals, dead bodies, blood, and YOU not waking up. She would still wake up and sleep hoping to see you awake. If you were somebody else and troubled Sky, Arlo would have personally chopped you into pieces a very long back."
Sam sighed after finis.h.i.+ng and turned his tone a lot better from his cold tone. "Good that you are awake before Loran and Sky lose their hope. Get well soon. Everything is alright."
Jai found it difficult to even hum. Then Sam hung up the call.
Sam knew well, whatever he told, hurt him too much but it also prepared him to hear completely by Sky instead of getting weak at that time in front of her.
Jai didn"t dare to close his eyes thinking he might not wake up again...
He initially heard nothing. He was surrounded by deathly silence and dark. He wasn"t sure how long it continued until one day he heard Sky chuckling.
He tried to move, speak, and open eyes but nothing worked. Then he again heard somebody laughing with her and understood it was Loran but somehow he felt they were laughing but they didn"t really laugh heartily.
A hint of pain was obvious.
He sometimes was hearing others voice but he would never miss out Sky and Loran who was talking with him as if he was sitting next to them and talking.
He had tried to respond many times but he couldn"t do anything. Even though he wasn"t sure he heard everything or not. He heard only them more than anybody else...
When he heard her scream, he wanted to save her at any cost. That"s when he felt his other senses work. As soon as he felt a small palm holding his hand, He held on it as if it was the only way to save her.
When her screams continued, he had tried his best to wake up but he opened his eyes to see the darkness which made him think he was still in darkness.
As Sky"s hand moved, his vision adjusted without irritating his eyes and saw Sky and Loran who were smiling looking at him. He tried to move his hands but had no strength other than lifting finger.
When Loran moved around, his eyes stayed on Sky scaring she would disappear in the dark.
His all works and missions were carried out in dark but after sleeping so long, he hated darkness...
...
After a very long time, he heard a mobile vibrating and saw Loran getting up. He kept his lids close to eighty percent.
Loran checked his temperature, covered the blanket high, and returned to sleep.
He opened his eyes to see Loran going back to sleep it happened one more time before he woke up. Seeing Jai awake, he went to the bathroom.
Sky rubbed her eyes as she entered the room. He clearly saw her sigh of relief and controlling herself from talking before she turned around and left but she returned back immediately and made him drink water.
With the help of Loran, he was taken to the bathroom, and Sky left after it.
They were complete mute. Jai noticed there were only light scars of his wound and understood, Sky used the cream which he gave her long back. He wasn"t feeling any pain on the leg but shoulder seemed too stiff.
When Loran helped him back on the bed, he asked, "Were you guys ma.s.saging me when I was ..."
Loran hummed before he could finish.
Jai understood why his body wasn"t sore even after laying on the bed for so long. He was sure Sky and Loran personally did instead of hiring anybody.
He checked Loran"s wound and tiny line of the scar. "Is it still painful?"
Loran shook his head before going another side.
Sky and Arlo entered their room in casuals. Jai and Arlo nodded at each other. Jai had heard Sky attending meeting sitting next to him and they talking as Arlo was in sigma when he was in a vegetative state.
He saw Sky pa.s.sing breakfast to Loran, she took his light porridge which was lightly heavy than the previous day. She fed him even though he said he could.
He wasn"t half done, Arlo started to feed her sandwich carefully.
He felt like it had happened many times. Then he realized, she was feeding Loran and Arlo was feeding her finis.h.i.+ng his breakfast.
The difference was they were talking so that he could hear, now they remained silent to let him ask a question and they would hum or shook their head in response.
Only Arlo would respond if he asks any questions that need to be answered.
