An Adult In Pokemon

Chapter 23

Jacobs"s story was quite long and serious in some parts. He spoke of a man that match Gray in all aspects. Well, carrying different Pokemon though. The man was slightly older, by at least three years or so. Gray had an Abra. The man had a Ralts starting off for one thing. Instead of a Growlithe, the other had a Vulpix. The Scyther was something new altogether. The man did not have a Pidgeotto but he had a Pidgeot feather he wore around his neck. As for the Umbreon the man had one but he never saw it himself.

The man fought across the region help saving pokemon and the like. Mostly from natural catastrophes. Or exploitation by others.

"I dont think that suits me. That sounds more like a Pokemon Ranger. I myself am a Trainer." Gray said to Jacob. He then bit into his grilled cheese sandwich. "Besides the pokemon line up is just to different. I couldn"t imagine parting with the ones I have." Reaching over he wiped a piece of cake from Empresses" mouth.

"I understand. Just wish I could show you. I would recommend a mental projection. But I am not as good as my sister in that aspect." Jacob tried to explain best he could but to no avail. His shoulders dropped as he held his pokemon. Gray just nodded and left it mostly alone.

"Did your Gray travel with anyone else? He couldnt have been all alone. Especially with the region at war like you said." Sabrina had recorded the entire story mentally. A part of what he spoke of resonated with her. She just didnt know why. Ori in her Espeon disguise just watched closely. Every now and then Ori would lick the other Espeon.

"No he didnt." Said Jacob. "He did say his companions and himself had parted. Now that I remember it. He also said there was a big argument. From his aura, I could tell he was distressed about it. Mostly angry at them and himself. So I never continued to probe." Reaching down he fed his little Regice a piece of red jello. The jello just disappeared like a vacuum sucked it up. Little pieces of red matter floated around in the ice Pokemon.

The little pokemon had absorbed and started to wiggle about happily in his lap.

"Well, that is something," Gray said slightly amused. "Well best of luck with finding him." Looking at his pokemon and their satisfied faces he paid the bill and started to leave. "See you around Jacob. I need to go find lodgings and rest up. Have training to do tomorrow." He looked at Sabrina and waved his hand at her. "Guess she is busy."

Not waiting for his reply Gray and his poke left. Sabrina was lost in thought and didnt realize what was happening. Coming to and seeing that he was gone she was angry again. "Did your Gray do that to?" She asked Jacob.

"He did. But only if we were lost in thought. When my sister asked why he did that he responded. "Sometimes people have alot on their plate. Who am I to clean the table for them? If they want help, they will ask." He always acted weirded at the most unusual times." Jacob said imitataing Gray"s voice. "Me personally, I thought it was due to different reasons."

"Such as?" Sabrina asked. Even Ori p.r.i.c.ked her ears up at this.

"I think it was because he became detached. A lot of his interactions looked forced with people. Even with me and my sister." Jacob had called for his check after saying that.

The steward walked over. "How can I help you all? Would you like to place an order to go?"

"No. I would like to pay my check please." Jacob said. "Oh and hers as well." He looked to Sabrina smiling. "For interrupting your date, it is the least I can do."

"It was not a date!" Sabrina said a little embarra.s.sed. She started to reach to pay for it her self but was stopped.

"The young lady"s meal has already been paid for." The young man that sat with you three paid for it." The steward said with a coy smile. He did, however, hand Jacob his check like he asked. "For you sir."

"Right. Thank you." Handing him some poke dollars the Steward face twisted for a moment.

"Ah, a dungeon diver. Please wait, a moment sir. I do not have the currency for that on my persons. It will take a moment to bring you some change." The steward started to walk away.

"It is no problem. Just keep the change." Looking to Sabrina Jacob thought the best way to invite himself along on the journey.

"I need to find Gray. I am so giving him a piece of my mind." Sabrina said standing up and leaving the table.

"Wait for me! Two are better than one!" Jacob yelled following along.

*Off with Gray.*

Gray had found a cheap poke hut for rent. It catered to all the different Pokemon professions. There was even the option to list what work you were willing to do. This was for a way to allow the different professions to make money and socialize. Looking at the different options Gray checked off Pokemon doctor and Pokemon breeder beginner. With that, he received a 30% discount.

"Here you go, sir. Thank you for your a.s.sistance. With this attachment, you can receive Poke Alerts for jobs in the area. Just turn it off if you are to busy. Do keep in mind you have to do at least a few jobs a month for it to remain free. If not you will be charged the full price of the tool as well as full price at the huts in each city." The agent said in a professional tone.

"Can do." Leaving the office, Gray went to the hut and settled in. After 30 minutes of unpacking and resting from the food, he gathered his pokemon and headed out back.

"Ok. So for the next 30 minutes, we will work on defensive exercises. This will allow you to have a better understanding on defense in battle. So let us begin." As Gray said this, he was removing his top and pants. Barefooted on the ground he could feel a better connection to his aura ability.

For 30 minutes the group did movement on defense exercises and stretches that rely on maneuvering.

"Beep beep, message." Clicking on his poke gear Gray watched as a portrait appeared of a boy about 12 or so.

"Excuse me. My Caterpie is not feeling well. Can you treat him?" The boy asked.

"Sure no problem. Come to room 112." Gray responded after looking back at the wall. Each hut had the corresponding number to help identify. The picture of the boy closed out. Looking around Gray gave his pokemon some orders. Feel free to go out for some personal training out back. Stay safe. Pyron, Growlithe, and the Scythor took off. This left Empress and Midnight. "You two want to be my a.s.sistants today." He couldn"t help but smile at them.

" Bree, bre um," Happy to help. Midnight said happily as he danced about.

"Yes. just tell me what to do," Empress said excitedly. Her tail looked a little longer Gray thought for a second.

In three minutes the boy had arrived by the back fence.

Gray flicked the latched letting him in. "Ok, so let us see your Caterpie." The boy just stared at his first pokemon hoping everything would be alright.

After a few minutes of observing the Pokemon Gray found the problem. Running his left hand cloaked in aura energy he pushed on its stomach. The caterpie groaned in pain. Running his right hand on top of its head he used a bit os physic energy to read its mind.

"Ok little one. What did you eat in the last few days?"

"I ate a bunch of berries, as well as some shiny rocks."

"Why did you eat those rocks? Also, think of what the berries looked like." Running his hands along its sides Gray could feel jagged pieces inside.

"Ok. I ate them because I cannot stand the pokefood at the farm. It tasted awful." The Caterpie thought. Conjuring the images Gray was able to identify the berries. The rocks however not so much.

The boy started to get nervous. If he lost his pokemon he wouldn"t know what to do. He took it to the pokemon center already but he didnt have the money for the surgery. If he was a trainer it wouldn"t have been a problem.

Coming to a decision Gray notified the boy of his options. "There are two things we can do. We can invoke vomiting to help clear his stomach. The problems with that. It will make Caterpie really weak for a while. Including damaging his mouth and the equivalent of his throat. The other option is, I stick my hand up Caterpies r.e.c.t.u.m and clear the obstructions that have blocked it up. It digests this last batch inside and we started it on a softer food regiment." Looking at the boy"s teary face, Gray felt a little bad. "You need to watch what he eats. The pokefood you have him on, he does not like it. He has been sneaking off eating berries as well as rocks. I take it the berries are sprayed with pesticides?"

"Yeah. They are. It is the only way to keep a lot of the pokemon from eating them. My parents will freak when they find out Caterpie has been eating from the batches." The boy said looking angrily at his pokemon. His face softened when he noticed the pain it was in. "We had to change up the food. It was cheaper. We couldn"t afford to keep paying the variety of batches."

"Understandable. So whats it gonna be?" Gray had already switched his gloves to another pair.

"Second option. I dont think the other will be too good for him." Walking forward the boy lifted Caterpie head up. "This will hurt for a bit buddy. But when it"s over you will be all better." In response to its Trainer, the caterpie just wagged its tail a little.

Gray laid plastic underneath the Caterpie. He had Empress bring his bag over and hand him a jar. The Jar was filled with poison powder. Empress then handed him some berries. Midnight walked over serting a bowl down. As Empress mixed the poison powder with the berries in the bowl Gray ma.s.sages Caterpie"s stomach. With his physic ability, he was moving the rocks around. Shaving the rough edges down making it easier for when it pa.s.ses through.

With Empress physic strength it didnt take long to mix it. "Ok, Empress put the bowl to his mouth allowing him to eat it slowly."

As the Caterpie ate it became sicker. The result of poison powder. The berries helped as a laxative when mixed. As the minutes pa.s.sed the pokemon started to squirm more. With the poison powder moving it along the bowels already started to loosen.

"Pi t" e pe pe." Caterpie fidgeted. Gray held its tail and ma.s.saged its r.e.c.t.u.m. Slowly he moved his finger inside clearing away the rock pieces. Piece by piece the rocks feel out. Well to be accurate pushed out.

Finally when everything was done Gray folded the plastic. Caterpiw was set down on a towel to rest. Gray had used an antidote from his bag to take care of the remaining poison that may have lingered. Scythor had made it over during the procedure. She stood next to Caterpie raking her talons slowly over its rear end. Not to strongly mind you. She knew how deadly they could be on the pokemon. Only reason she was doing it is that Gray said it would give her better control when attacking. As well as it helping the Caterpie rest easy. Scythor was having doubts about leaving again.

The boy paid Gray with an Oran berry potion he made. It was all he had. But he promised to give him an excellent report for his help.

"So what are you going to do with the remains?" Empress asked.

"Use it as fertilizer," Gray said smiling. Placing the remains in a jar he sealed it up and labeled accordingly. "Well, what do you say, everyone? Time for another patient maybe?"

"We can"t wait." Empress said. Midnight jumped up and down.

Gray smiled and went to fetch some water. While the three rested Gray felt a pang in his head. It was Sabrina. "Hey, what"s up?"

"Where are you?" Sabrina thought back a little angry. "I can"t sense your location."

"It is most likely due to the area I am in. Hold on." Touching his poke gear he sent a message her way. It had the address of where he currently was.

"I will be there shortly." Sabrina cut the connection. In less than a minute, there was a knock at the front door.
