"Begin now!" The old Nido King Bellowed. His loud voice hit Gray knocking away all the debuffs. He smiled at Gray knowingly. "Fight well Bruiser.""Hah!" Throwing a ball of psychic energy at Bruiser, he watched as the attack did nothing to the Pokemon. "Why did I use that move?" Feeling his head become fuzzy he decided to focus on what to do next.
"Bam," Bruiser grabbed the energy and threw it to the ground. It brushed the Attack off with its claws as if it was nothing. "Humph! That the best you can do?" Stomping on the ground, it charged forward. Its horn glowing as it brought it down. "Bam!" The ground gave from the Horn Attack. Gray saw that it was not as strong as the Ursaring, but it was powerful none the less.
"Huff, huff, so tired." Gray felt the stares from the stands. His Pokemon were all there watching him. Empress gave him a thumbs up and stuck her tongue at him. Gale looked actually worried. Midnight watched unblinkingly. As for Growlithe, it was talking to the female Nidoqueen. "What do they know each other?"

"You can"t afford to look away from me!" Bruiser yelled as it charged back around this time it"s right arm glowing. "Brick Break!"
"Agility!" with the added speed Gray jumped to the side. Bruiser"s arm was coming around at high speed"s. "Wham," the tail caught his side. "Crrkk," Gray felt his bones break and his lung"s tear. "Teleport," he managed to say. Landing on the other side of the arena Gray felt his vision darken. "Stupid, stupid," Gray admonished himself. "Why cant I focus."
Looking back at the NidoKing, Gray saw it didn"t pursue him but reared it"s head back. "Bam!" Stomping it"s foot to the ground the ground split opened as it used Earthquake. The rumbling made Gray using his footing. He couldn"t float and waste the energy. Before he could even think of what it was doing next, he received his answer. A large ray of energy came straight at him.
"Hyper Beam!" The attack came flying across the way. Gray tried to move to the side but actually stepped into the attack. "What the h.e.l.l?!" Unable to control his actions he hit the arena wall. "Huff," Gray breathed out as he tried to get out the wall.
Bruiser stood there exhaling from the use of the attack. "Groo," steam came out of its mouth as it strutted about in the arena. It was using Taunt on Gray.
"Grrr," feeling the anger well up inside, Gray felt the feeling of a beast out getting ready to take place. "No! I came here to get stronger. I cant just lose it to win. Calm Mind!" The energy washed over him clearing his mind. Feeling the fog disappear from his head Gray felt refreshed. "I was under Confusion? But when? No, it doesn"t matter." Relaxing his muscles he fell out of the wall.
Taking a deep breath Gray felt the little bit of aura energy replenish him a little. His mask disappeared next as he focused all his strength on his hands. With a slight shift, Gray moved to his fusion of his souls. His hands now had the claws of Giratina.
"Raaaawwrr," Gray roared at Bruiser causing it to freeze in its tracks. He had activated his pressure which resulted in the move Torment to activate. Suppressing the Nido King caused the fight to turn just a little. It was not wise to play with a Dragon. Or use Taunt on it repeatedly.
"Wooh" the crowd started to cheer wildly. No name"s just screaming and cheering. A weird battle aura started to engulf the arena. The energies flowed into Gray and Bruiser.
"Thump," kicking the ground Gray charged at the Nidoking.
"Fight me with everything you have human!" Bruiser yelled as he charged at Gray! Gray would have been stunned to know he was found out but he didnt really care at this point. The two met in the middle, claw against claw.
Gray swiped with his right trying to keep pressure off his other side. His claws scratched over the Pokemon"s hide leaving scratch marks. Bruiser came down with such force the wind screamed. Ducking under it, Gray came up with a rising claw to its face.
"Scrch," it left a mark in the hide. Gray had moved to make a little room. But faltered. "Ughh," he grabbed at his damaged ribs on instinct. This gave Bruiser enough time to hit him.
"Brick Break!" the glowing claws came down.
Gray looked at it and closed his eyes. "Ha," taking a deep breath he knew this would hurt. "Endure." The blow landed causing Gray to sink in the dirt. The ground gave way just a little then a lot as a crater formed. "Ugghh," the move worked but that didnt make it easy to deal with the pain.
"Ha, foolish human." Bruiser looked at Gray and use Taunt again. Moving closer, he stood over Gray and spit on him. "Pathetic! What did they ever see in you?"
"Raaaghh! Revenge!" Gray yelled as he stood up turning to attack the Pokemon in its chest. Clawed hand pierced through the Nidoking. He grabbed ahold of its heart. He was getting ready to take it out when he heard a yell.
"Please! Stop! Do not kill him!" A very heavyset NidoQueen wobbled over into the arena. A few Kangaskans tried to stop her but halted when the old NidoKing raised his palm. "Please, I beg you."
Gray eyed the crowd and then the other fighters. They still cheered and carried on as before. He looked to the old NidoKing and held his gaze aginast it. "I will spare him if he yields. That is what the rules say."
"You will kill him!" Ordered the old Nidoking.
"My fight, my choice." Ignoring the old Nidoking, Gray tightened his grip, "what do you choose?"
"I yield." The Nidoking said. In a flash, he was pulled out of the arena by a purple light.
The entire area became cloaked in aura power. It took everything for Gray just to stay upright. He pushed his pressure to counteract it. It only alleviated it a little.
"Enough!" The old Nidoking bellowed. "You have definitely earned your place as a warrior here." With a wave of his hand, the arena lit up. All around Gray the Pokemon started to shine and take on humanoid forms. "We welcome you champion. Come with me." His voice came out plesant and happy.
"What is going on?" Gray felt the change in att.i.tude was a little crazy.
"We wanted to see if you were a decent person. You have proven you are. Agreeing to stop once he yielded that is." Nidoking sat down and gestured for Gray to do the same. "If you would have crushed the heart of my son, you would have still gotten what you came for. However, we would have exiled you from these lands."
"Was Growlithe in on this?" Gray asked a little angry.
"Yes. But the same as others, he could not tell you of what the battles were about. That is the reason for the Oath at the altar." Smiling at Gray, the Old NidoKing gestured to a ball in front of Gray. "Take it, it is yours. You can walk around in the actual city as a human now. You have earned that right." A gong rang off. "Ah, always busy with work. I must be off." Standing and walking off. The old Nidoking pa.s.sed by the other more fatter Nidoking. With a grunt, he continued on his way.
"Hmm right. I guess I should think a little more when accepting tasks." Gray hummed then calmed himself. Grabbing the ball, he watched as it glowed and turned into an Expokeball. "Nice."
"Glad you like it." The fat NidoKing said sitting down. "Sorry for all the taunting and unfavorable conditions. It was all designed to make you angry. The best way to see if you were trustworthy and all. Do forgive us." With a shine, he turned into a human. Not halfway or a partial and actual human. "Much better."
A woman came in wobbling. The NidoQueen from earlier Gray a.s.sumed. The woman smiled and sat down. She was very pregnant even in human form. "Hah," she exhaled leaning back in the chair. "Thank you champion, for not following through earlier." She said with a strong yet delicate voice.
"Right, think nothing of it. I would have been able to judge better if I thought more beforehand. I cant believe I gave in to the provocation. Then again I have been stressed the last few days." Gray said leaning back in the chair.
"Oh, for what reasons," Nidoking said Grabbing a gla.s.s and drinking some water. "Share your thoughts and we will help if we can."
Gray spoke about what happened before he came to the dungeon with his companions. They both agreed that people who couldn"t see eye to eye shouldn"t travel togethor. A difference in opinion is one thing. But the person leading should not have such troubles.
"You should have designated roles better. From what you say, everyone seems to just do whatever. There is nothing wrong with that unless there is a clear role for when things get serious or a decision needs to be made." NidoKing said.
"But you must also know when to stand your ground," Nidoqueen spoke firmly. Gray finally noticed something. This did not go unnoticed. "You are trying to figure out who is in charge aren"t you?"
"Yes."
"I am in charge of the region. My husband is in charge while I am with child. We are currently preparing to make our successor. To improve his strength I use less aura energy than usual. Which makes it hard to rule. As my second he fights all battles in my stead. Despite the fact he is more of a strategist than a brawler."
"Hehe, this belly tells no lies." Laughing Nidoking shook his belly. But I will have to burn it off in the winter. Before I forget, did you find someone who you wanted to come with you?"
"Yes. There is a prisoner we pa.s.sed by in the market. A male Nidoran that had been arrested. Do you think I can take him with me?" Gray felt a strong need to get that Nidoran. When he went to check on it in the morning he was shocked to find out it was arrested for stealing some medicine.
"Are you sure? I dont think he is that powerful." NidoKing said. "We have other warriors who would love to possibly go."
"That may be true. But I rather you do not lose a warrior right now. Considering the land disputes you are having. Each warrior counts right?"
"Thank you for that. We will send someone for him at once." NidoKing looked to the side and gestured to a Cubone. The little Pokemon saluted and took off. Gray talked with the two for the next hour. He found out a bit of the doctor were away at the border.
"Oh, how about an Alliance, I have lands that you may like. I also need some of the lands from you as well. We could rent from each other if you like."
"Hmm, that can work well for us. Growlithe did talk to me about it yesterday." The Nidoking said. "Such a late-night owl."
"I agree, I will have the charter written up. A clan member of yours is here already in town. We will talk with them later today and bring them up to speed. Also," Nidoqueen paused trying to decide if she really wanted to ask but felt she had to. "We received the word you are a doctor of sorts. Do you mind treating others while you are here?"
"Yeah, no problem. I will head over once I get treated myself." Once he said that a fruit was given to him by a Chansey. Flinching a little from the Pokemon, Gray looked it over before eating it.
(Fully healed and Restored.)
(Aura and Psychic power have increased by 1.)
Gray spent four days treating the different Pokemon. He learned a lot that helped him. Especially since it helped his Pokemon Breeding and Medical go up. In his downtime, he travelled the city with his Pokemon and found that the Pokemon here, despite having a more warrior culture were no different than the residents in Human cities.
Growlithe spent a lot of time with Midnight touring the outskirts. Pyron was gone most of the days. Each day he came back happier than the last. Gray, Empress, Gale, stood close with one another. Clyde was always busy at night time and slept during the day.
Purchasing a few items he was surprised to find clothes. But then considering they had humanoid states it made sense. He purchased one for each of his Pokemon. Not really getting anything for himself. In his bag, there were already 8x outfits for a trainer. That was good enough for him.
While pa.s.sing the last shop of the day he came across a stone shop. Walking inside he didnt know what to think. Several Geodudes floated around stacking boxes on shelves. A Golem rolled up to him and gave him a greeting.
"h.e.l.lo. How may I help you?"
"I am looking for some stones to... well c.r.a.p I guess to help my Pokemon become stronger. You have anything like that?"
"Of course I do. What are the types and what type of stronger do you mean?"
"Well for one.. wait one moment." Gray turned to Gale. "Do you want to become a Scizor in the future? I am pretty sure they have Metal Coat for sale."
"No," Gale said while shaking her head. "I am happy as I am."
"Right so no Metal Coat got it." Gray turned back and looked at the Golem. "Ok, so I need stones to increase aura, physic, fire, and dark properties. As well as a Firestone."
The Golem nodded and walked off. He came back with a box with the items five minutes later. Before Gray could buy everything someone else pushed to the front and demanded service.
"I need two Firestone and six thunderstones right now!" She said slapping her hand on the counter. The Golem was angry but composed himself well. He gave Gray a small apology before walking away.
Gray grabbed his crate and moved to another counter. "Can you ring me up?"
"Yes of course Champion." The Graveller behind the counter said. In two minutes it was done and Gray was on his way.
He was a little wary about the price but dismissed when he remembered the money he made at the hospital. Gone already for the most part. Sending his thoughts with the Expokeball to Growlithe, he told him about the Stone. -It ready for whatever you want to evolve."
"Eh, it won"t work on me. Explain later in a battle with wild Pokemon." Growlithe said hurriedly. Sensing something was off Gray pulled Empress into him. He left Gale out due to her speed. After a few minutes, he relaxed.
"Well, guess that was a waste." Walking a little furthur, he was stopped by a few Sandshrew.
"Excuse us, can we have a moment of your time?"
"No, have places to be," Gray said politely. He sidestepped the Sandshrew that spoke and continued walking.
"Wait we must insist." The same Sandshrew had used Leer on Gray. Then the other two did. The fourth tried to catch Gale, but missed catching Gray again.
Feeling his defense drop then another three times, Gray jumped into the air and floated using his physic power. He was p.i.s.sed. Sending a high powered Shadow Ball at the first one he watched as it curled then was encased in a shield.
The Sandshrew had used Protect. Diving down Gray waited till the very moment the shield dropped. When it unfurled itself, Gray crushed it under his foot with a descending Stomp.
"Rumble," The ground shook from the blow. But only a little. Gray was not heavy enough to command the power. The Sandshrew had its head caved in. It was dead as roadkill.
Gale had already finished up with two of the others. Seeing their leader dead the Pokemon were stunned. That slight paused gave Gale the chance to finish them. Her scythes took on a shine as used Slash in rapid succession. Both Pokemon were bisected. As the remainder tried to escape he was stopped by Gray.
The courtyard became quiet when the only sound heard was a chilling sound.
"Disable!" Gray said with finality. He floated over to the Pokemon and grabbed its head. Pushing aside the pleading voice, Gray unleashed his energy on the Pokemon. He read through its memories wanting to kill it after what he witnessed. Wiping the Pokemon"s mind he grabbed a Sale Ball and captured it. "Trying to steal my Pokemon, how insolent."
Pulling the corpses of the others into his inventory he looked at Gale. "Are you alright." He looked at the scratch at her side. "Does it hurt?"
"No. It will heal quickly." Gale responded. She noticed that his eyes would always shift when he had to kill something. Lately, there was always a soft look in his eyes when he looked at her. Shaking her head she dismissed the thoughts as wishful thinking on her part.
Rubbing the side once again, Gray leaned into Gale. "If it hurts you tell me later ok?" Sering her nod he licked the side of her face. A side effect of his aura from Arcanine and time fused with Growlithe. He was becoming extremely protective of his possible mates. Instead of fighting it, Gray just let what naturally came to him now.
Several guards came and asked what happened. Gray explained to the Marowaks what happened. The guards asked the bystanders and bid Gray good evening.
Heading back to the Hospital Gray finally had the chance to talk to the Nidoran.
"Are you sure?" The same old Marowak asked.
"Yup."
"All yours then." She smiled at Gray and wished him good luck before departing.
Moving over Gray touched the Nidoran by the side. Seeing the bubble once again he was upset.
(Arceus Corruption. 87%)
(Would you like to purify?)
"Yes!" Gray immediately agreed. The energy slowly left the little Pokemon and entered into him. "Uggh that feels like c.r.a.p." The amalgam of energy was broken down back into various energies. Taking in the ones related to himself he digested it. The others were expelled and crystallized.
Putting them away he looked at the Nidoran. Its body was almost made of crystal. Touching it again he watched as its body took on a standard color.
"Mm, is that really you?" Feeling strong, it stood up. "I am well again." his voice excites he danced around. Looking to Gray he tackled him. "Thank you! Thank you! I will fight everyone that stands in your way!"
"Hahhaha," laughing Gray patted the little Pokemons head before setting it down. "That is good to hear. But right now just focus on recovery. I will introduce you to everyone later. For now, we should head out."
"Ok!" Extremely excited the Pokemon jumped at Gray when his back was turned. Just like that, he disappeared inside him.
"Woah, what the?" Shocked Gray froze. "What is going on?"
(Due to Nidoran"s affliction its body was forced to endure harsh conditions. The affliction caused its body to constantly absorb aura energy. Nidoran has several aura abilities. One of them being a medium.)
"Alright, but will this hurt Empress or myself by any chance?"
(No. Trainer body has gone enough blessings to house multiple medium"s and Poke"souls.)
"Whew, that"s good to know. Wait, multiple souls. Does that mean I can go get others somehow?"
(Unavailable to host. Giratina and Yvetal will not allow any additional souls at this time.)
"Well, that is just the pits. But then again.. I dont need to bite off more than I can chew. Besides something tells me I won"t like the method to acquire them." Rocking in place, Gray realized he needed to catch the Nidoran. "I guess I will do it later."
Going to bed and resting was all that was left. The next day he would head to the Moltres territory to set up a deal between them and the NidoQueen and NidoKing territory.
-Off in the other Bird Pokemon territory.-
"Father I have something to tell you," Terraconda said happily. She approached the throne room happy as can be.
"What is it now daughter?"
"I am with child." Terraconda smiled happily. "I never thought I get the chance to become a mother."
"What did you say?" Her father slammed the table in excitement. "Thats impossible!"
"Father I already was in the beginning of my egg day. He did a great job fertilizing me." Terraconda was blissfully happy. "We need to find him. If he can get you pregnant there is the chance the others can get pregnant as well. A cure for our family is defintely needed."
"Guards go. Find my blessed son in law." He then looked back at Terraconda. "What was his name again?"
"His name is Pyron." She said doing a little happy dance. She stopped and felt a little funny. Holding her hand in front of her, a clear flame flickered. "What is this?"
"I dont know. Call the old bat. I mean call my mother at once." The King couldn"t help but feel a sense of unease. "Who is this Pyron? Where did he come from? Daughter, tell me how you met."
"Well about that.." Terraconda said sheepishly.
