The scene at the upper sector of the Hall of Governance was one to remember, the gruesome sounds of bone snapping, flesh-tearing, and people wailing capable of bringing to halt any man or woman that watched its terror.Other than the officials who trembled with their arms clenched tight, even Vernisa had a fearful look behind her straightforward appearance, as she thought to herself, "I... I really am glad that I acted in line..."
Manager Paulson had a frightened look as he even fell onto his b.u.t.tocks and pointed forward with his mouth opened wide like a child, what could make a grown man behave like such? That answer is simple; it was no more than a demon.
At this time, a battle that couldn"t be described as a fight was occurring between two individuals. However, just by using simple observation, one could tell that only one of them had an absolute superiority, as the other was vastly outcla.s.sed, leading to a tragedy.
s.h.i.+ng! A crimson blade light flashed, severing one of Vawn"s arms, blood spewed from it like a geyser as he screamed out in pain, "Ahhh!"
After screaming, Vawn bit his lips to swallow the pain, and pressed a point under his armpit; this method used some special technique to create the effect of hemostasis.
"d.a.m.n monster, how the h.e.l.l could someone as strong as this exists? I need to escape and inform the leader!" Vawn thought to himself, as his sweat rolled down his bruised forehead, he glared at Evan, leisurely walking towards him with his blood dripping Havengaurd.
Evan looked at Vawn and noticed that he was practically an arrow that was one step from losing its flight, he shook his head and narrowed his eyes while in thought, "Hmm... I had thought that they weren"t alone, but it seems that this group is more cautious than I"d expected. Oh well, I should wrap this up and move on, we can deal with them during our month of training."
Vawn saw that Evan was distracted, had a flash in his eyes, he pointed his only remaining arm towards Evan and shouted in a disorderly manner, "Explode! Explode! Explode!"
Buzz! A series of invisible ripples moved towards Evan from all angles, like a wave from the ocean.
Evan, who was in thought, raised one of his eyebrows before swinging the Havengaurd at all directions; this caused a series of crimson-colored sword rays to collide with the invisible waves.
Bang-Bang-Bang!
Following a series of explosive sounds from all around him, Evan ignored the effects of the mini shockwaves and took a step forward.
Swoos.h.!.+ His body blurred and appeared directly before Vawn as he smirked and spoke, "Your method of using soundwaves is fascinating; you almost remind me of a peculiar race I"ve met before. Still, it"s a pity, it looks like we"ll have to end our little game now..."
"Oh s.h.i.+t! He"s too fast!" Vawn, who was preparing to escape after his previous attack thought in shock, he hurried to use another technique, but sadly for him, Evan was much too fast.
s.h.i.+ng! With a flash of the sword, the other arm went flying into the air, as Vawn had fallen onto the ground, fiddling back and forth as his arm spewed out blood.
"You son of a..." Vawn was about to swear, but Evan decided that he should teach him respect.
Crack! The sounds of bone"s breaking were heard as Evan stepped onto his leg, crus.h.i.+ng into it an unrecognizable shape.
"Ack! O-Okay! Okay! I-I give up! I give up! No more..." Vawn cried out as he felt like he was about to fall into h.e.l.l with Evan around him.
Evan snorted no longer looking at him before he s.h.i.+fted his eyes around him, he noticed that Rick and Joe had already finished the others.
Many of them were crushed, and others had holes in their chest and forehead. Those who did survive were too terrified as they sat down modestly between Joe that was drinking some unknown juice as he argued with Rick.
"I say, you could have done it much faster, even at your speed; I still ended crus.h.i.+ng enough to compare with you," Joe said, trying to pick a fight with Rick.
Rick wasn"t feeling well as of late, especially with Joe"s behavior, he frowned as he spoke, "Are you challenging me, Joe?"
"What if I am?" Joe asked while puffing out his chest.
Rick glared at him before snorting, not saying anything; Joe also turned his head elsewhere. The captured individuals made odd looks as if thinking, where we really captured by them?
Joe felt strange, he looked at the men carefully, but as if they noticed it, they quickly returned to meek looks and lowered their heads.
"I must be imagining things..." Joe thought, not putting it on his mind.
Evan shook his head as he saw the two"s actions; he checked the time and saw that a few minutes had pa.s.sed. He glanced upwards and stared off into the distance as he contemplated, "The girls should be returning right about now."
Following his words, a distance away, Layla, Emilia, and Breya, were seen running in the sky. Though it seemed odd, if one were to pay more attention, they would notice that a thin wire was below their feet.
"Hehe, sisters, it looks like I was right, they"ve already beaten them in that short time frame," Emilia said with a smile as if speaking about some bet.
Layla smirked and spoke, "Okay, fine, Emilia, you"ve won this time, you can claim the next loot from any monsters we defeat."
"Yay!" Emilia cheered making a pumped-up expression, Breya made a faint smile before she glanced down below her, observing a few individuals that held sniper rifles. They were bound to her threads, and each of them terrified as if they had no idea what just happened.
In fact, one of them had only just now awoken, he was initially aiming his scope on Evan"s skull, but before he noticed it, his scope was blocked by two enormous "mountains" that bounced up and down.
Before he could even confirm his hallucination, his mind went black before awoke to this scene. He made a weary look as he muttered, "Just my rotten luck..."
Breya ignored the individual, hurrying back to Evan and the others. Moments after, they landed onto the scene of the finished battle, dropping the a.s.sa.s.sins on the ground.
"Looks like I was right on the mark... you guys came early," Evan said with a smile.
"Of course, you think us women will be slower than you men?" Breya asked rhetorically.
Evan shook his head, not replying; he knew better than to try and argue with a woman. He had only one life, and he didn"t want to lose it again.
Layla stuck out her tongue at Evan, before running off with Breya who went over to Joe and Rick, with Emilia.
Evan glared at her from behind, showing a mean look as he thought to himself, "It"s one thing to argue, but a man has ways to deal with a woman. Layla, you made a big mistake siding with her today, hmph!"
Already with his mind set, Evan only now focused on the scene inside the meeting room. There, he saw that the officials were looking at them with shock and horror.
He scratched the back of his head with an awkward expression while thinking, "Ah s.h.i.+t; it seems that we may have a gone a bit overboard. It is what it is, as for those final battles, I believe they should be wrapping up at this point."
Vernisa, who had already sealed up those who lost the will to fight, stepped forward with a force look. As she arrived before Evan, she made a slight bow and spoke, "Mr. Evan, I am grateful that you could help at such a timely battle, we..."
"Wait," Evan said, cutting her words off.
Vernisa looked at Evan puzzledly. However, Evan spoke to ease her concerns, "Wait a little while longer, their battle is almost over, and I don"t think they"ll need our help."
When Vernisa and the other officials heard this, they only now recalled that two other battles were occurring. The previous scene of Vawn and the Anti Human faction being devastated had already distracted them from the current matter at hand.
Vernisa made an awkward look as she replied, "Yes, I believe so too,"
Following this, everyone outside s.h.i.+fted their eyes onto the battles occurring within, though couldn"t see inside of the ice dome, they could see that it was cracking apart and knew who was winning because of this fact.
Leo and the others, however, had a more overwhelming and direct result. One that caused a few who looked down on him before, to show bright looks in their eyes as the meeting act finally neared its end.
