It was supposed to be a walk back home after a day"s work, when w.a.n.g Rui happened to pa.s.s by and overheard the conversation from Chiang Fuli, the sole heiress to Mahaha Empire."Grandpa, I"m over 30! Do you think that by cutting me off your will that I"ll do what you say?! How many men do you think would love me and not just because of what I have?! Of Course! If I happen to meet one that isn"t after my money, I"ll marry him with no second thoughts!"
w.a.n.g Rui saw men in corporate black suits surrounding a woman who seemed to have her back turned against them, the employee of two years happen to hear the raised voice of Chiang Fuli. Call it temporary insanity, w.a.n.g Rui blurted what was on his mind.
"Would I do?"

Prologue: First Contact....
"President Chiang! Chairman Zhu would like to speak to you."
Chiang Fuli walked briskly in front of the bodyguards that served under her, dressed in white custom made pant suit, a curtain of wavy black hair fell over her shoulders, almost hiding the dangling gold ear cuff chandelier earrings from both ears.
A pretty woman who looked to be in her mid twenties, reached for the phone that was pa.s.sed to her by one of the men who served under her security team. He was a man who was well built and of average height, well fitted black suit and white s.h.i.+rt that was paired with a dark tie, glossy black leather shoes and pants.
"h.e.l.lo, Grandpa."
The soft voice mirrored deep affection the woman felt for her maternal grandfather, the Chairman of Mahaha Corporation, Zhu Jianlin.
"How is my Linlin doing today?"
On the other end of the phone came a deep gravelly voice from the 78 year old Patriarch to the Zhu family, although advanced in age, Zhu Jianlin voice still held a commanding force in them.
Chiang Fuli rolled her eyes knowing that her grandfather wasn"t just calling to check up on her health or anything along those lines. Her lips lifted in a smile as she responded to his query.
"Grandpa, I"m just leaving work. Do you want me to come and see you?"
Zhu Jianlin"s voice became dead serious, the words that followed held traces of ice in them.
"Linlin, Linlin, how many times did I call you?!"
Chiang Fuli felt a coldness seize her heart when she heard the drastic change that came to her grandfather"s voice. She could tell he was about to say something that she would most likely find very unpleasant.
"Twice, Grandpa."
"Isn"t it about time for you to begin thinking about the future? How long do you want to keep managing Mahaha Corporation without a husband?! I thought that I"ll be one of those lucky few to be blessed to see my great grandchild before my time comes to an end. What would little Lin say if she knew that I left you to do as you wanted all these years?! I don"t know if I"ll be able to face your grandmother! Or else I may have to cut you off from my will!"
The face of Chiang Fuli tightened in anger and pain, even after many years since her mother and grandmother pa.s.sed away, her grandfather would always make reference to them each time he wanted to have his way.
"Grandpa, I"m over 30! Do you think that by cutting me off your will that I"ll do what you say?! How many men do you think would love me and not just because of what I have?!"
"Don"t be foolis.h.!.+ Love has nothing to do with having a good family! How about the list that I had Secretary Soong send to you? Isn"t there anyone that catches your eyes?!"
Gripping the phone tightly against her ears until her hand became paper white, Chiang Fulin struggled to keep her emotions under control, as curious looks came from the employees of Mahaha Corporation.
"Of Course! If I happen to meet one that isn"t after my money, I"ll marry him with no second thoughts!"
w.a.n.g Rui stepped out of the elevator, straight ahead he saw men dressed in the same corporate black surrounding an elegantly dressed woman in white heels. What seemed to grab his attention was the contrast they made, it was as if he was looking at a swarm in the midst of ravens. He kept on walking and soon caught some of the things the woman said. He then shrugged his shoulders as though to dismiss what he saw, only to catch a glimpse of the look on her face and that was what it took to make w.a.n.g Rui blurt out the words inside of him without thinking of the consequences of his action.
"Would I do?"
Chiang Fuli turned around to see who it was that had the audacity to interrupt the conversation she was having with her grandfather, Chairman Zhu Jianlin!

"Hehn?!"
w.a.n.g Rui stared at the woman in surprise, as the words spilled out of his mouth.
"There is nothing impressive about him! Doesn"t he have better neck tie?! Just look at those cheap haircut!"
Different things kept going through the mind of Chiang Fuli while her eyes zoomed in on what one of her employees was putting on. To the mega rich heiress, his presence was an eyesore.
On the other hand, w.a.n.g Rui was also talking in the expensive clothing that see had on, "Even if I sell all my organs, I don"t think I can afford those shoes!"
On the surface, it may have looked like the simple office man stepped in because of the vulnerability he saw on Chiang Fuli, but in reality the generosity he inherited from his father was just a tool he made use of when he needed something in return. Looking back at the sadness from childhood taught him to tender help only if there was something to be derived from it.
Folding are arms across her chest, the heiress shook her head at what she saw as a man dressed in rags, faded suit which had seen rounds of was.h.i.+ng and black shoes that looked like they would pack up at any given time were sources of annoyance to her eyes.
"How much is your monthly salary?!"
