OR 2A

Dr w.a.n.g was still working on meeting the deadline that his captor placed him in, with his heart racing in fear as his attention was centered on saving the life of the woman on his table. He didn"t notice that something unusual was going on, the surgery was supposed to last for approximately three hours, with two hours for hip repair and the rest of the time was allocated to minor surgery for internal bleeding and st.i.tches on other parts of her body and light wound dressing at the site where the skin was taken off from her fore arm "donor site" and the receiving site being the thigh region. He knew there was no way to complete a surgery of two hours in ten minutes, this left him with no other choice but to improvise.

The nurse that hyperventilated and laid on the floor as though unconscious was in fact putting up an act, thinking that it was the best way to get out of the nightmarish situation that she was currently in, if her supposed kidnappers thought her knocked out, she could try to escape when they were no longer looking.

Taking the opportunity presented to her, the circulating nurse quickly rose up to her feet in a bid to reach for the door before the other man that took her colleagues returned and found her not to be where he left her.

She had already opened the door, and made a mad dash to the main entrance, only to freeze on her track by a single command.

"Stop right there, before I blow your head off!"

Crippled with fear, right where she stood, the woman very much in her thirties, did not know when her bladder failed her, as puddle of embarra.s.sing pale yellow formed at her feet. This time the fear was real, with shaking feet, she turned to face her captor, whose expression chilled her to the very bones.

Inwardly, Yang Lin was thankful he made it on time to see the nurse fleeing from the operating room, he wondered why Guo Ru hadn"t alerted him of the woman"s disappearance, or could it be that he already knew that he was going to run into her as she was trying to escape? Thinking of this in his head, Yang Lin beckoned with one hand while the other had the gun facing her point blank.

Following his lead, they both walked back into the same place, she left not too long ago, with Yang Lin trailing behind her.

"Did you have a hard time?"

Infuriated by the question from Guo Ru. Yang Lin replied in a strained voice laced with sarcasm.

"What do you think?!"

The woman had only walked a few steps into the room when she felt a p.r.i.c.k at the back of her neck, unknown to her Yang Lin had whisked out a prefilled syringe containing a moderate sedative from the inner pocket of his coat.

Unable to fight against him for fear he would shoot her dead, the woman moved no farther, seconds after the sudden shot, the nurse fell to the floor, losing consciousness.

Not a flicker of emotion pa.s.sed through the eyes of Yang Lin, when he saw the way her feet gave way, as though crossing a pile of rubbish, he walked over her body, to get to where Zhang Mi was, only to be stopped by Dr w.a.n.g.

"Don"t come any closer! Or else you will increase her chances of getting an infection after surgery!"

The tone at which the doctor spoke sounded terrifying to him, this made Yang Lin pull back and maintain his watch by the door, unaware of what had pa.s.sed through between Dr w.a.n.g and Guo Ru, while he left to tie some loose ends.
