Less than 16 hours before D-day...."Yang Lin in the event I die before my time, treat everyone at Zhang villa well. Take a vacation and live as you want and not as an addition to Zhang Corporation. Find someone from a good family and have children with her and live a good life. That is all I ask of you after I"m gone. Family is everything, they could either be your strength or downfall."
The look from the memory was one of forlorn, almost dreamy like, as though she was contemplating if she would live long or die, having no one to take her name nor take theirs in return. It was during those times he would drive her around, that was when she became unusually sentimental, was it around the time she just entered in a relations.h.i.+p?
The memory although it seemed like it was yesterday, yet whether it was around the time Zhang Mi and Duan Feng were involved together was kind of hazy in the mind of Yang Lin. The heiress not knowing that a part of her words was like a prophesy, almost as if she was talking about how her life was going to end. Would things have turned out differently if she knew that her family was going to do great harm to her? Or will things have remained just like they were, even if she had foresight about them.
Right there at the middle of the living room, Yang Lin completely broke down in tears, he didn"t know why he was recalling the words of the heiress said to him thise few years she took over as the President of Zhang Corporation.
There was no one to witness his open display of raw grief except for Director Ko, who was so startled by Yang Lin"s cries.
"Oh my Gawd! It just dawned on you right?!"
As though expecting a reply from Yang Lin, who was shaking on the floor separated by a few feet from the open casket. In his heart he knew that she wasn"t gone, but he felt so lost. The other man had a look of fascination as he watched the weeping face of the long time aide of the "late" Zhang heiress.

Outside the gates of the Zhang villa, the police still had the crime scene marked, which was the reason for the additional security. Tons of luxurious cars streamed through under the designated traffic controllers for the day, the police. Each car that pa.s.sed by had to be searched and the ident.i.ty of the people within verified before admittance into Zhang villa, although the ostentatious property boasted of it"s own security, but this was a high profile burial that had the public very much interested. Therefore, all sorts of people both good and bad may want to use the occasion to their advantage.
"Is that not...."
"Yes it is!"
The question although not finished was answered by a fellow reporter, it was a high profile figure that was driving through the gates and the window was pulled down just in time to see who was sitting inside. Even people that many would not think will seek audience at the residence of the Zhang heiress, showed up to pay their respects.
Among them were those that had to be coaxed, slapped and threatened to attend for the sake of publicity. Attending the funeral was like gaining business at the same time, it sort of went hand in hand. There, people will meet to exchange business cards and in some cases get deals signed and more.
Among the growing crowd of sympathizers, a woman of average looks and a child of about three years walked hand in hand towards the gate of Zhang villa, tight security kept many away who were not of the caliber that the Zhang family a.s.sociated with. The woman dressed in a simply in a blue striped dress and sandals of black, dark hair was held in a rubber band, light make up and a simple looped earring of silver on both ears. She had the air of someone that struggled to have a two square meal, her pet.i.te body not as a result of exercise.
"The heiress will be laid to rest today, we stand outside the home belonging to the former President of Zhang Corporation, as many of you know..."
"Please excuse me."
The live broadcast took a sudden turn, as the camera zoomed in on the woman and child who look for the world from a humble background. Poverty would have been an insulting way to describe how they looked. The male child could be said to be cute, some may not hesitate to grab onto him for a hug. The child was dressed all in simple suit and shoe of black, sporting a cheap regular hair cut.
"Are you part of the people that have come to pay their respect to the heiress?"
The question the reporter asked with open eyed curiosity, made the woman hesitate for a while, before speaking.
"Yes, I came to pay my respect. Lun didn"t have a chance to see his mother when she was alive, at least the Zhang family cannot be so cruel enough to stop him from paying his filial duties for the first and last time!"
The child had a look of innocence, watching the every move the woman that brought him made around the reporter.
"Please care to explain what you mean by the boy! Who is he? His he the secret child of the late Zhang heiress?! What other secrets did she leave behind?"
The reporter first turned to face the woman and child before turning back to face the TV for effect. The nearby reporters caught wind of the scandalous statement by the unknown woman and left where they were to get closer to where the action was taking place.
Was it really true that the heiress left a child behind or was it an evil plot woven by a crafty mind to destroy whatever legacy the heiress had left after she was gone.
