Beast God

Chapter 52

The flurry of arrows and spells slammed into the ma.s.s of zombies, killing many instantly but due to the sheer number of zombies, the charge didn"t stop and the continued charging towards the wall.

"Takon, Ava, light them up." Ben told them.

Nodding they both flew into the air and dove towards the oncoming army. They released their flames, covering the battlefield and turning the zombies into ashes.

"Arrrgh!"

The zombie king gave a loud growl before hundreds of mutated zombies stepped forward with long javelins in their hands.

Ben"s eyes widened before yelling, "Get down!"

*Woosh!*

The mutated zombies threw the javelins with all their strength at the top of the wall. Most of the mages and archers were able to duck in time but a few were skewered by the javelins.

Grayson, who was on the wall, let out a loud cry as his shoulder was pierced by a javelin.

"Greyson!" Ben yelled before flying over to his brother. "Lilith send up some healers!" Ben bellowed down below.

Soon the healers came and started to heal the injured. Grayson"s injury wasn"t severe and was quickly healed.

"Go lead. I am fine. I can die but you can"t you are the pillar of this city." Grayson said as he push Ben back, he quickly started fire spells at the zombies below.

Ben nodded and looked at the zombie. They were still throwing javelins at the top of the walls causing out firepower to decline.

"Focus on those mutant zombies throwing the javelins! Be prepared to charge! Open the gates on my command!" Ben hollered, his voice heard all over the city.

The soldiers tightened their grips on their weapons, the real battle was starting now.

Ben flew down and landed in front of his army, his wings retracting back into his back, instead a long tail grew out and blue scales covered his body. Lightning started to shoot out from his body, giving his the presence of a G.o.d. Lightning also covered his two swords as he drew them from their sheaths.

Duke walked up to him and prepared to charge with him. Ava and Takon were still attacking the zombies and were started to be pushed back.

Colton, Lane and Lilith all watched Ben"s back as they prepared themselves for the bloodbath.

"Roarr!"

Colton"s bear let out a loud roar as smoke came from its mouth.

"Open the gate!" Ben yelled.

The gates started to open, before they were fully open Ben already dashed out in a flash of lightning with Duke following him closely. Though the field was covered in flames, the zombies still made their way through and were close to the wall.

Ben and Duke dove into the swarm of zombies and starting slaughtering. Every slash of a sword or a paw meant the death of another zombie. Lightning also shot out from his body and killed unsuspecting zombies.

By the time the soldiers came out from the gate, they were seeing a ma.s.sacre from their City Lord.

"What are you all staring at!? Are you going to make the City Lord do all the work!?" Colton yelled as he charged forward riding his bear, Freddy.

Getting over their initial shock, the soldiers resolve hardened as the let out a war cry and charged into battle.

"Ava and Takon, take a break. I don"t want you to burn our guys accidently." Ben sent a command to them, as they bombarded the battlefield with flames.

The two of them both peeled off and flew away before landing on the city wall, watching the battle as it happened. The archers and mages were still sending their attacks towards the back of the army where the mutant zombies were throwing javelins.

The battle raged on for hours, casualties piled up for both sides. Suddenly a loud screech rang out through the battlefield. Ben looked up and saw 3 large birds in the sky.

"Ava! Takon!" Ben called out.

Suddenly Deke appeared beside him, part of his armour was torn. It seems that he had been fighting as well.

"Lord the scouts say that 3 birds are attacking from the north as well." Deke looked at the birds with a sliver of fear.

"s.h.i.t! Ava! Takon! Head north and kill the flying beasts! I will handle these three! Deke sound the retreat!" Ben commanded.

Deke nodded before disappearing shortly after a loud horn blared telling the soldiers to retreat. Ben stayed where he was and covered their retreat. He was using Ava"s flame to create a wall but he was able to block them all.

Suddenly vines burst out of the ground and created a wall blocking the zombies, then a wall of ice and flames appeared.

Ben looked back and saw Shenelle, Cloey and Grayson casting their magic, helping the soldiers retreat and buying them some precious time.

"You three retreat to." Ben said while catching his breath.

"But Bree is still hunger!" Shenelle complained, sitting on top of her giant snake patting its head.

Ben ignored her. He closed his eyes and focused on the Natural Energy. Slowly it flowed into his body, healing his wounds and restoring his strength.

When he opened his eyes, a golden light flashed before dimming down.

"Hurry back. Heal the wounded and prepare for the next battle. There is lots of daylight left." Ben said. The large tail he had slowly disappeared and huge black wings shot out from his back. The blue scales still covered his body.

The three of them nodded before heading back.

"Be careful." Ben heard Cloey whisper.

Smiling, he looked towards the sky.

Undead Flame Hawk

Undead Shadow Sparrow

Ben shot into the air, ready to fight to the death with these birds. They saw him coming and gave a loud shriek before diving at him.

The Flame Hawk met him first and tried to grab him with its talons. Seeing this Ben smirked before slashing out with his sword. A loud cry was heard as a talon fell to the earth.

Fill with rage, fire surrounded the Flame Hawk as tried to dive a Ben again.

"Not the smartest."

Ben flew towards the Flame Hawk, right in its way for a head on collision but at the last second Ben shift slightly and avoided the crash. Ben stuck his sword out and let the Flame Hawk"s momentum to the work. A large wound appeared on the birds body, from the head all the way to the tail.

The Flame Hawk beats its wings a few more times before it fell to the earth dead.

Just when Ben finished his attack, a sharp pain erupted from his calf. Looking down, Ben saw a chuck of his flesh missing from his leg. He looked up and saw the Shadow Sparrow with a piece of his leg in its mouth.

It slowly ate it and licked its lips, looking at Ben with a hungry expression.

"Come and get it you f.u.c.ker." Ben yelled.

Down below, the healers were busy healing the wounded. Even though everyone was busy doing something, they all were watching the battle between Ben and the three birds.

"Can the City Lord defeat all of them?"

"Of course! You didn"t see him on the battlefield! The man slaughtered his way through countless zombies!"

"Our City Lord is undefeatable!"

The soldiers conversed while their eyes were glued to the sky.

The 5 generals all stood on the wall and watched the battle. Colton and Lance"s armour was covered in blood while Colton"s beast, Freddy, was licking chucks of zombie out of his fur.

"Can he handle this?" Lilith asked, concerned about Ben.

"He has to. This city will fall if he doesn"t." Lance said slowly.

James nodded, Ben had become this city"s central pillar and if he fell the entire city would.

"He won"t die." Colton said, giving off a b.l.o.o.d.y smile.

"No he wont." Shenelle said with a smile.

Lilith looked at them, confused where their confidence came from.

"You haven"t been on the battlefield with him yet. There"s a confidence he gives off, almost arrogance that he can"t lose and when you fight with him it feels that you can"t lose either." James said staring at the sky.

Lilith turned her face towards the sky and saw the Flame Hawk fall to the ground dead. Her eyes shining with hope.
