Little Green was terrified of what she had done. She stuck Bennett on that island knowing that he would be killed, his chances of survival were pitiful. The men she placed on the island were all ruthless criminals that she had found from all over the world. Their strength and cunningness were far above his.Trying desperately to figure out a way to leave and save him, her thoughts were interrupted.
"Leave him Little Green, I approve of your test." he smiled at her.
Slightly raising her head but still not looking at him she said, "But Master, he will die."
"Yes, he might die. But what if he doesn"t? If he survives, his strength will be far greater than before."
Little Green disagreed, but kept it to herself. "There is no way he survives."
"Whatever the outcome is, we will know in seven days." the man said quietly.
...
Seven days later Little Green was standing on the tiny island by the lake. She was watching two individuals fighting to the death. One carried a butcher"s cleaver that he wielded with such speed that you only saw flashed of steel. The other one carried two swords, a short one and a long one.
The latter was mostly fending off the butcher"s attacked but was able to sneak a counter in here and there.
Watching the them, Little Green was stupefied.
"This... is the same brat?" The change was like day and night. His sword play was on another level and his control over his body was almost at the master level. Though he was on the losing end of this exchange, she knew that his opponent was almost Lvl 20 and had a yellow cla.s.s.
She placed this man on the island to make sure he didn"t live and yet here he was almost fighting him to a draw.
Seeing him evade a lethal slash, she almost cheered. He then attacked with a nice combo that should have killed or at least severely injured the butcher.
The butcher used a simple reflect skill that deflected Ben"s blade away.
Seeing Ben"s moved failed, she panicked.
What she saw next shocked her to her very core.
...
{3 days prior}
Bennett was exhausted.
His body had been pushed to the limits and was about to break down. Constant life and death battle left his mentally and physically exhausted. At Ben"s breaking point something happened.
He could feel energy all around him. The trees, the plants and the earth. They all contained energy. This energy was all around him, and before he knew it, it started to flow towards him and enter him. He felt his old wounds heal, skin become tougher and body fill with unlimited vitality.
[Bennett has awakened his Inherited Skill- Nature"s Child.]
...
*Slash*
The cleaver just missed his ear. Using this opportunity, Ben stabbed with his Ninjato towards the butcher"s stomach. Seeing this attack coming, the butcher took a step back, avoiding the Ninjato. Ben slashed at the butchers neck with his Katana. The attack was fast and precise, the two attacks but the butcher in a dangerous position.
"Reflect!" the butcher yelled.
A thin transparent shield appeared around the butcher, making Ben"s Katana deflect away from the butcher.
Ben smiled, this is what he was waiting for. The skill only lasted for 1 second and he had to wait 10 minutes before he could use it again.
Taking a step back, Ben activated his Inherited Skill- Nature"s Child. Tendrils of energy started to flow into Ben, his body oozed with vitality.
Looking at Ben"s wounds heal, the butcher panicked. The kid was a lot tougher then he thought and he hid his skill to the very end.
He decided to make an all out attack, putting his own life on the line.
Seeing this Ben gave a small smile. Taking another couple steps back he avoided the butcher"s pursuit. The butcher was desperate, and desperation causes mistakes. He didn"t notice a patch of soil slightly different color than the rest and stepped on it, sealing his fate.
The hole was no deeper than 30cms, but it still caused him to stumble.
Ben had been waiting for this, stabbing his Katana through the butchers chest, almost limiting him off the ground.
Blood splattered on Ben"s face but he didn"t flinch. His eyes never left the butcher"s face, watching the life leave his body.
Throwing the body to the side, Ben wiped his blades clean on the butchers pants before sheathing them across his back.
Thanks to his Inherited Skill, his fatigue was washed away as well as his wounds.
He noticed the mysterious woman during the fight but couldn"t afford to be distracted, so he ignored her. Now that the fight was over he walked over to her.
"Did I pa.s.s your test?"
...
Little Green couldn"t answer, she just stared at him dumbly.
"His Inherited Skill is... is Nature"s Blessing?"
It was an extremely rare skill that only a few were blessed with.
This ability had endless possibilities and depended mostly on the possessor of the skill preference. One thing never changed though, that whoever had this skill was powerful and dangerous.
It could grant you affinities with all the elements or extreme control over just one. The best known doctor in the universe had this skill and she was rumored to even bring back the dead.
Her master had the skill Nature"s Gift, which was just a little weaker than Nature"s Blessing and his strength was respected throughout the universe.
"I must tell Master this. This is great news."
Little Green snapped out of her stupor before nodding, with a wave of her arm Ben was greeted by many messages.

A flood of messages filled Ben"s head as well as a soft dinging sound. Before Ben could open his stats panel he felt his body get hot and start to burn.
Letting out a small grunt, Ben felt his body ripping apart and being put back together repeatedly. The process only last a couple seconds and when it was done Ben felt... good.
His body was overflowing with power and his senses to improve tenfold. He was able to make out the smallest details around him. He was able to hear the mysterious woman"s heart beat and he could smell her unique smell.
"Smells like nature." he surmised.
Opening up his stats panel, he was left with his jaw dropped.
