Chapter 24
CHAPTER 24

Really Hard to Come by, Huang Shen

“This….. What’s going on?” Jing Yue blinked her eyes doubtfully; it was the first time Jing Yue saw such a large group of soldiers.

Jing Yue turned her head around wanting to ask Xiao Chen, yet she found Xiao Chen’s body was sitting perfectly straight; he appeared full of might yet without any warmth, making Jing Yue’s heart s.h.i.+vered slightly. She seemed to think about the first time she met Xiao Chen, the feeling Xiao Chen gave her was exactly like this.

“This official welcome ninth Huang Shu back to the palace!” a shouting voice that seemed like it wanted to make people’s ears deaf came from outside the carriage, making Jing Yue’s heart trembled. Looking at the figure which opened the carriage’s curtain and took a step down; a thread of peculiar feeling suddenly streaked across Jing Yue’s heart.

That tall body was standing proudly, stood among the crowd with a violent and tyrannical ‘I’m the only one to be revered’ air. Obviously there was no movement, there was no words spoken, yet he indescribably made people felt fear. Jing Yue finally understood why everyone always referred ninth Huang Shu with admiration.

Making people revered him, making people looked up to him, making people longed for him.

As Jing Yue was lost in her thought, she suddenly found Xiao Chen leaned his head to look at herself who was still inside the carriage. That one voluntary gaze made the corner of Jing Yue’s mouth slightly bended upward; this man thought she hadn’t gotten off the carriage for a long time because she didn’t want to be seen this kind of situation.

Jing Yue’s eyebrows were bended as she smiled; gathering her hair behind her ears, she stepped out of the carriage. Xiao Chen timely extended his hand, apparently wanted to help Jing Yue to get out of the carriage. Jing Yue raised her head and smiled at Xiao Chen; she raised her hand and put it inside his wide palm and leaped down from the carriage in one step.

The pet.i.te figure in dark gown standing at Xiao Chen’s side exposed an appearance that obviously wasn’t that stunning, yet unexpectedly it made people unable to s.h.i.+ft their gaze; the bright black eyes that swept the crowd without the slightest fear as she raised her eyebrows somewhat displayed haughtiness.

This kind of woman actually stood in front of Xiao Chen seemingly without any form of fear, without losing her composure, bright as before.

“Let’s go.” slight astonishment flashed through Xiao Chen’s eyes; originally wanted to say something about the intimidating scene, he closed his mouth looking at Jing Yue’s raised eyebrows. Smile faintly streaked across his eyes, indeed worthy to be the woman he chose.

“Ninth Huang Shu.” in a glance, Jing Yue could already see the cold man in ink blue robe standing coldly among the crowd.

Standing in front of that man, Xiao Chen narrowed his eyes slightly to look at the man, opened his mouth and said: “Second prince come to welcome Ben w.a.n.g, really hard to come by…”

“Ninth Huang Shu’s too grave, I will not dare to disobey father’s order.” the corner of the man’s mouth pulled a thread of cold smile. He raised his head to look straight at Xiao Chen’s eyes; four eyes actually showed sparks between them, making Jing Yue who stood at one side grinned.

This man really could talk, wouldn’t dare to disobey the Emperor’s order, wasn’t it just a curved way to say he wasn’t willing and also to embarra.s.s Xiao Chen?

“This person should be the ninth Huang Fei right?” the man turned slightly; he looked at Jing Yue with eyes that seemed to examine and size her up, making Jing Yue frowned slightly.

Xiao Chen’s gaze sank slightly; looking toward the man he said: “According to the rules, second prince should call her Huang Shen*.”

“This ‘Huang Shen’ words are better to wait until ninth Huang Shu finished performing the marriage to be said, after all no one know whether this Huang Fei could really a.s.sume the ninth Huang Fei position or not.” disdain flashed through the man’s eyes; a desire to kill flashed faintly in his eyes as he turned his eyes to look at Jing Yue.

“Second prince said these words really well.” Xiao Chen was about to spoke, yet Jing Yue who had been silent suddenly raised her lips and laughed; that shallow smile as she stared at the second prince nevertheless brought ice-cold chilliness.

Jing Yue stepped slightly forward to stand beside Xiao Chen, smilingly looking at the second prince, she said: “I, this ninth Huang Fei, really don’t know if I can be the ninth Huang Fei, even if I really do manage a.s.sume the position, I’m afraid I still will not be able to be called ‘Huang Shen’ by second prince.”

*Huang Shen: Imperial aunt (Huang Shu’s Wife; Huang Fei is the t.i.tle, Huang Shen is what the emperor’s children should call Jing Yue as their uncle’s wife.)
