"Celeste! Slow down. I can"t keep up. "Carolinia sounded almost out of breath. There was no telling how far we had gone, and we had gone off the main path.
"I think we"re getting closer. "
"How do you know? I don"t hear anyone calling out anymore."
We both listened. All we could hear was the sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling. Just all the tranquil sounds of the forest. But then.....
"Help me please!" We heard the voice again.
"I hear it!" Carolinia exclaimed excitedly.
"See? I"m not crazy. I knew I heard something."
We went in the direction of the voice and peered through the bushes.
"Woah!"
"W-what is that?!"
There, in a small clearing, was a tiny person. But not just any tiny person, a fairy! She had on a dress that looked almost like it was made from clouds. Her hair was light pink and purple, and hung in little ringlets down her back. Her tiny gossamer wings were shaped like the wings of a b.u.t.terfly and were almost transparent. They looked to be covered in dewdrops that sparkled in the evening light.
Startled she gasped and turned sharply in our direction. She then tried to fly away, but couldn"t. One of her wings was ripped.
