Chapter 542: I Won’t Give Up on Jiaojiao
“You don’t have to worry about me and Jiaojiao,” Quan Jue said coldly.
“Of course I don’t worry about you, but I’m concerned about Jiaojiao.” Xu Ye took a step forward and stared him straight in the eye. “Quan Jue, don’t you know what the Quan family is like? If you must be with Jiaojiao, you will end up implicating her in your family’s affairs. Do you feel good about that?”
Quan Jue looked at him indifferently. “Are you done?”
Seeing his casual and indifferent att.i.tude, Xu Ye snorted in anger. “Quan Jue, I won’t give up on Jiaojiao. If you have a conscience, don’t harm her.”
Quan Jue grabbed his collar.
Holding onto Xu Ye’s collar, Quan Jue lifted him up slightly. “You don’t have to worry about me, remember? If I hear you say such things again, I won’t let you off.”
Xu Ye stared into his dark and cold eyes. He was p.r.i.c.ked by the cold glint in them.
If he admitted defeat now, he would never live it down.
“Won’t let me off? What can you do? Beat me? Come on, then!” Xu Ye smiled provocatively.
Quan Jue looked at his annoying face and really wanted to beat him up.
However, he remembered his promise to Jiaojiao. He let go of Xu Ye and pushed him back.
“Mind your own business.” Quan Jue turned around and left.
Xu Ye looked at his back profile and took a deep breath before following him.
“Do you know that Quan Jingzhou has been looking for my aunt every day recently?” Xu Ye asked as he followed Quan Jue.
A dark glint flashed across Quan Jue’s eyes, but he did not stop walking. “When did this happen?”
He really didn’t know.
But it was normal for Quan Jingzhou to look for Lu Xian.
“I don’t know when it started, but five days ago, I saw him send my aunt home. They were talking and laughing.” Xu Ye glanced at him coldly. “Are all the men in your Quan family so shameless?”
“What has Quan Jingzhou’s shamelessness got to do with me?” Quan Jue’s tone was casual.
“He’s your father!” Xu Ye said.
Quan Jue sneered in disdain. His att.i.tude was clear enough.
He didn’t treat Quan Jingzhou as his father at all.
Seeing his att.i.tude, Xu Ye’s remaining words seemed to be stuck in his throat.
d.a.m.n.
How could he forget that Quan Jue had been living under someone else’s roof since he was young?
If it was him, he wouldn’t treat Quan Jingzhou as his father, either.
Thinking of this, Xu Ye actually felt that Quan Jue was a little pitiful.
“If you’re free, you should spend more time with my aunt in case that man swindles her again. She won’t be so lucky to survive every time.” Xu Ye’s tone softened.
Quan Jue didn’t respond to his words.
Xu Ye didn’t know if he had heeded his words.
…
At night.
Chi Jiao went to Yan Zhengchen’s place first.
Everyone was present and accounted for, including the usually busy Chi Yexi.
“Jiaojiao, come sit beside me.” Chi Yexi sat lazily on the sofa, looking as elegant as a prince from a comic book. He was very eye-catching.
Chi Jiao walked towards him with a smile.
However, before she could get close to Chi Yexi, Shen Liao intercepted her and pulled her to sit beside him.
“This is for you.” Shen Liao pulled out a bag of strawberry-flavored jelly from behind and handed it to her.
