Chapter 326: Do You Think I Believe You?
Quan Jue looked at the woman in the photo quietly and saw the smile on her face.
He had never seen his mother with such an expression. Her smile was infectious. It was an expression only people who lived happily would have.
Before him, that woman was always filled with sorrow.
Quan Jue’s expression did not change. His lips moved and his voice was slightly hoa.r.s.e. “When did you take this photo? Why haven’t I seen it before?”
Quan Jingzhou was also looking at the photo. His gaze was extremely deep and cold as he stared at the man in the photo. “If I told you that this photo was taken within the past two weeks, would you believe me?”
Quan Jue finally moved his gaze away from the photo. He pursed his thin lips and raised his head to look directly into Quan Jingzhou’s eyes.
The father and son pair looked at each other in silence. Quan Jue wanted to see if there were any loopholes based on his father’s expression.
However, Quan Jingzhou’s eyes and expression were very calm. There was no trace of panic in him that one would have after lying.
Quan Jue was silent for a moment. Suddenly, his lips curved into a mocking smile. “Do you think I believe you?”
When Quan Jingzhou heard this, he suddenly smiled.
His smile momentarily melted that iceberg-like expression on his face. “The world is big and full of wonders. There are even Espers and special abilities in this world. How do you know that strange things can’t happen? Quan Jue, nothing is impossible.”
Quan Jue’s heart stirred violently. Quan Jingzhou’s words were like a storm that swept away all the thoughts in his mind, causing a huge change in his state of mind.
However, the young man did not reveal his thoughts on his face. His expression remained calm. “Where did you get this photo?”
The moment Quan Jue saw the photo, he was certain that the woman in it was his mother.
He clearly remembered that his mother had a small black mole under her eye.
Under the corner of the woman’s eye, there was an identical mole.
In this world, it was absolutely impossible for two people who looked exactly the same to exist. Even if they were similar, there would be differences.
That was why he was so sure.
No one could mistake their mother.
Quan Jingzhou’s smile disappeared. His tone was still cold. “I found this photo by chance. The Xu family found me and showed me this photo. They also said that they hoped I could find your mother.”
As Quan Jue looked at the young woman in the photo, he felt a layer of doubt before his eyes.
There were too many questions in Quan Jue’s mind. He wanted to ask them, but he didn’t know how to.
The questions he wanted to ask were mixed with a doubtful point that even Quan Jingzhou might not know. It was not something that could be explained clearly.
The only thing they could do now was to find his mother as quickly as possible and learn the truth from her.
Quan Jue didn’t probe further about the Xu family. Instead, he changed the topic and asked, “Where is my mother now?”
Quan Jue knew very well how resourceful this man before him was. He had eyes all over the country. According to his temper, he would immediately get his subordinates to investigate the moment he saw this photo.
It had been a few days. Quan Jingzhou must have already figured out where his mother was.
