Chapter 252: Healing
It turned out that it wasn’t a gift from Yangyang’s admirer. Kang Weizhen was relieved and accepted the paintings. She looked at the paintings in her hands. There were dozens of them, almost hundreds. She immediately thought they had to be fake. Even if her daughter had bought fakes, she wouldn’t say anything.
She had only mentioned that she liked Dennis’ work a few times yet her daughter went the extra mile to do this for her.
“Thank you, my dear daughter!” Kang Weizhen hugged her daughter happily.
Sheng Yang smiled. “As long as you like them.”
Yi Juncheng followed Sheng Yang upstairs. Suddenly reminded of something, he turned around and smiled. “Aunt, cherish the paintings you just received.”
“Huh?” Kang Weizhen didn’t know why Yi Juncheng told her that. “Yes, I will.”
Kang Weizhen returned to her room, and the more she thought about it, the happier she felt. She was so happy that she even spun in circles.
When Sheng Hanjing returned home, he happened to pa.s.s by and see his mother. Like in his younger days, he leaned against the door and gently gazed at his mother.
The dark remnants of his childhood when he saw his mother crying in pain seemed to be fading bit by bit.
They were such vivid memories at one point but when he tried to recall them now, they seemed vague.
A home like this was truly great. It was great to have a sister.
Only then did Kang Weizhen realize that Sheng Hanjing was standing by the door. She was a little embarra.s.sed at first, but in the next moment, a trace of pride appeared on her face as she beckoned Sheng Hanjing over to take a look. “Hanjing, come and see this.”
Sheng Hanjing smiled and walked over gracefully.
Like a little kid who couldn’t wait to show off, Kang Weizhen showed him the paintings in her hands. “Look, Yangyang gave these to me.”
“She gave you so many?” Sheng Hanjing was surprised as he recognized at a glance that they were Dennis’ paintings. “These…”
“They’re just copies,” Kang Weizhen said firmly.
Sheng Hanjing touched his nose. “Really?”
Although he didn’t know much about art, he once had the honor of seeing an authentic piece at a friend’s house. Why did the signature look exactly like the one he had seen at his friend’s house?
Sheng Hanjing voiced his doubts but Kang Weizhen just smiled. “You might not be aware but imitations can be really high-quality these days. But don’t mention this to Yangyang. She really wanted to give me these. I only mentioned liking Dennis’ paintings once or twice, yet she remembered.”
“Alright.” Sheng Hanjing smiled. As long as his mother was happy, that was enough.
However, he still had some doubts.
After Sheng Hanjing left, Kang Weizhen was still in a good mood. She bragged about it several times in her friend group chat but it still felt like it wasn’t enough, so contrary to her norm, she posted on her WeChat Moments. Seemingly out of the blue, she posted nine photos in a row.
There were nine grids available and she had to fill it all with photos.
“This is a gift from my daughter!” A row of emojis followed.
President Kang actually posted on her WeChat Moments! This was really rare!
In just a few minutes, there were over a hundred likes!
She had too many clients and employees…
“Congratulations, CEO Kang!”
“Boss, your daughter is so sweet.”
“Oh, my idol.”
There were many other comments and all were congratulating her sincerely.
At the Sheng family home, a few people were playing mahjong with Grandmother Sheng. Since she had nothing to do, she began to scroll through her WeChat Moments. When she saw the post, her eyes narrowed.
Grandmother Sheng was even more of a fanatic than Kang Weizhen. Although she had so many grandsons, who could resist such a cute doll-like girl?
