Lovell headed over to Lau"s tent, readying himself, as he entered. "So, you"re Leaving us now, after twenty years with us?" Lau softly spoke, lacing his fingers as he rested his head on them.Lovell nodded. "Yes, I think its time for me to start my own journey, that not apart of the one I have had here." Looking over, Lovell could see Ark standing behind Lau just as he did with Morris.
"Is it now?" Lau was questioning Lovell"s motives.
"Yes, my time here has ended, Lau sir." Preparing for the worst, Lovell pulled back his sleeveless-trench coat and placing his hand on a pair of long swords. Lovell looked over to Ark. He notices that Ark was gaining quite a few grey hairs, possibly due to all his and Grailla"s pranks over the years, grinning at Ark, "Don"t you kick that bucket just yet there Ark."
Ark growled and was about to go after Lovell but was stopped by Lau. Stepping back Lau lowered his hand. "Well then, do take care of yourself out there, Lovell." Lovell bowed his head, in relief that his leaving them went smooth, as he left their presence. Lovel stopped in the entryway, "Safe journeys Lovell." Lua concerned for Lovell. He squeezed out before Lua lost sight of him.
Lovell returned to his sleeping corridors. He started to pack his things, Lovell noticed Grailla running up to him in a hurry. "You"re leaving?!" she huffed.
Looking over at her notice she seemed distraught at the thought of him leaving. Trying not to change his mind continued packing to distract the pain of parting. "Yes."
"But why? I thought you wanted to stay?" Her voice cracked as the words spilled out.
"I have things to do that need my attention." Saddling his horse, finding it hard to talk.
"Like what?" She protested.
Pausing for a moment as he looked at her. "There-there is someone I need to find and protect," continuing once more as he placed his things on the saddle bag. Grailla ran her hands through her hair in frustration. "It"s not just for their sake, but the whole worlds as well." Tightening down his belongings, then grabbing the reins.
"Who? Who is that important that you cannot stay?" Her words were filling with grief. She tried to get him to look at her.
Slipping the reins on, Lovell sighed as he looked into her eyes. "I would put them in danger if I say whom." Grailla stared at him, waiting for more. Turning way form her shortly after, the pain of leaving growing harder to do with his best friend begging him to stay. "But they are the G.o.ddess"s reincarnation, and…and I made a promise to protect her." His words shook Grailla; she couldn"t say anything. He was tugging the rains to lead his horse to the edge of the camp. His head held low trying to bottle his feelings of regret.
Grailla caught up to Lovell. Lovell hoisted himself into the saddle as Grailla grabbed the reins. Looking up at him "Good luck, Lovell, and-and be safe." tears began to stream down her tanned skin.
Smiling Lovell reached over to her hand. "Just wait till my return, will you?" Grailla nodded as Lovell slipped something in her hands. Letting go as he rode forward into a gallop. She leaned on an old post holding the letter Lovell"s mother left him all those years ago and giving him an excuse to return to Grailla as tears began to stream down his face, unable to everything bottled up anymore.
The day slipped by when he rode in over a low laying field. In the distance was the signs of a small town, the town of Stonebeak. Lovell feels some hope that someone might know where to find the person. Hitching his horse at the local stables Lovell entered the town, the old wooden buildings and muddy roads made it feel dead. Men and woman were falling on hard times from dry mines. Looking down the main streets, Lovell noticed a pair of young animilian men hara.s.sing an elvish woman. Rage built inside as Lovell cast a paralysis spell on the men, freezing both men in fear. As they tried to figure out what was going on, Lovell slipped closer to them. Rest his arms on their shoulders he told the men to back off or there will worse things than death awaiting them. The men slowly looked over at him. Smiling, Lovell let them go from his paralysis stare. Without hesitation, the men ran with their tails tucked between their legs.
The woman was thanking him for helping her. Lovell asked if she knew anyone if someone had seen a young woman. Shaking her head, she directed him to the location of the local pub but warned him to try to stay clear from the local gang leader. That were they usually hanged out, heeding her warning as they wave each other goodbye. He started to be heading in the direction in which the local pub was. Lovell had his hopes up, to where he could find some information about a girl with silver eyes, and silver hair with a pale complexion. Finding the Pub was the easy part, but he hoped that the gang boss was not there. Upon his entry into the pub, another customer seemingly flung towards the entrance way. Glancing over he notices a big burly man with a grin of satisfaction over his face. Lovell felt like his luck went dry upon seeing him.
Looking at Lovell, his grin grew. Lovell didn"t want to pick a fight with this daemon. "Hey, flatty! Come here, and I"ll give you a nice time!" Trying to ignore him Lovell proceeded to the bar and remembering what the women said about him picking up chicks that walked in. To him, Lovell did look like a chick with his long hair. "Hey! Blondie! I"m talking to you!" The man started to be riled up.
Lovell tried to brush him off. "One, I"m a guy. Two, don"t mess with me daemon!" Lovell snarled as his eyes began to glow. Hoping that his demeanor was enough t tell back off. The daemon brushed it off as a laugh out snuffed out. Getting up, he approached Lovell. Placing a hand on Lovell"s shoulder. "Remove your filthy hand, please sir!" Lovell was gritting his teeth.
"WHAT did you say, blondie?" the bartender scuttled away from the commotion as the man tried to show his dominance.
Lovell was glancing a glare towards him and his lackeys. Not wanting anything more now than be rid of them from his sight. "I said remove your filthy hand or are you deaf." Some of the lackeys started turned tail as they notice that Lovell was dangerous.
"H-hey b-boss, let"s let this one go." One the lackeys tried to put some sense into their boss"s mind.
"You cowards he"s nothing but a mutt!" Barking back at them. Gripping Lovell shoulder now.
Lovell snapped inside from the word "mutt." Rising slowly, Lovell planting his hand firmly on the counter. "Repeat that? I dare you if you don"t value your life." A lower growl erupted from his throat.
The daemon grinned happily. Moving in closer for Lovell to hear him more clearly, "What? The fact that you are a mutt?"
Letting him finish his sentence. Lovell"s fist then landed him square in the face, knocking him back into the tables. The remaining lackeys of his turned tail as the fight started. The man wiped his nose, smeared on his hand was blood. Lovell was standing in a pride-filled stance now, towered over him. Growling, he charged Lovell. Easily dodging his attack; Lovell then knelt his gut, stunning him, as Lovell then grabbed him by the collar, lifting him Lovell landed another swift punch in his face and shattering his nose. The daemon had cleared his mind, smiling, he prepared for Lovell"s next strike, Then striking Lovell in the face. Unfazed, Lovell drop kick him. This time, he broke the daemons collar bone. Angered, he landed another hit this time sending Lovell flying across the room. Lovell Rubbing his head, moved out of the way kneeing him once more then side kicking him across the head. This time the daemon did not get up.
Lovell wiped his face, "Never, ever, call me a mutt, daemon. You can count your lucky stars this time, Kynroc." He walked over to the bar and sat down leaning, against the bar. "River Kin, please, oh and no ice either." The bartender complied. Placing his drink down. Lovell was beginning to enjoy his drink. When, without any warning, a squad of hunter police came rushing in. Their rifles up, armed and ready. Looking around at the situation Lovell knew he was not going to get his info anytime soon.
As they positioned themselves, their leader walked in. She looked around to see the daemon laying on the ground out cold. Then turned her attention towards Lovell, who did not want to talk. For he was only trying to cool down after that fight.
"You there! What happened here?" Demanding Lovell speak. Lovell closed his eyes, hoping this will go over okay. As he took another sip, she walked over and slammed her hand next to him. Her other hand at her handgun. "I said, WHAT HAPPENED here?!" Her presence was enough to put a chill down his spine, being that he was from a gang of mercenaries. It also didn"t help that there were possibly fifteen to twenty or so armed hunter police in the room.
Knowing that it didn"t comply with her, things could go wrong, fast. Lovell started to open one of his eyes to look at her. He was noticing that the daemon started to get up. Its eyes pure white charged forward towards them. Dropping his drink as he goes to draw a dagger from his back. "Watch out!" Lovell bellowed. The officer turned to look see what was happening. Lovell moved swiftly to pushed her out of the way into some tables. As the roaring of the daemon and a blood-curdling scream roared out of her mouth as the daemon approached closer and closer. Within striking distance of Lovell"s dagger as he started to draw it out.
The dagger grazing the enraged daemons face. Became nervous, as it struck him across the room, Lovell crashed to the ground. The female hunter looked over at him. In utter shock, she could not move, staring in horror at it. The Daemon was charging for another attack, as her men fired upon it, the bullets piercing the daemon. She was only prompting it to go after the next. Finding his footing as he stood up. He was seeing the men cowered as the daemon charged towards them. Flipping his dagger over, then throwing it through the air. Landing it square in its back. The daemon stopped, turned around, looking back at him.
Lovell let out a small laugh. The daemon was charging once more. "This is not," dodging the charge, "good." Lovell rolling over to his knee grabbed his handgun from his back. The daemon lodging itself into the bar. As it pulled out, it notices the woman over on the left. It was licking its lips, as it poised to strike. BANG! A bullet struck it in the back, as crystals formed from within the hole. Reaching outwards, killing him. "Lyshta, that was to close." Lowering his gun.
As he put the gun back in its holster, Lovell walked over to the body. Grabbed his dagger, then began cleaning it. The woman was starting to regain her bearing"s, approached Lovell. "So, what just happened?" Still shaken from the ordeal.
Inspecting his dagger, "I was hoping you might have the answer to that. really?" As he sheathed it, turning to face her. He could tell she didn"t deal much with fighting, especially with the result being death.
"Well it looked as if he had been on "choke mint."" The woman crossed her arms as they sat down. She was trying to keep her composure in front of Lovell. Already aware that she was shaken up as he had noticed her knees ready to buckle before she even sat down. "We"ve been hunting down the culprits selling the drug for some time…" trying to sound confident before pausing. "you know. How do I know you"re not the one who gave him the drug?" Her face filled with skepticism. She was looking over at him, as he leaned over and stared at her.
He was closing his eyes. "You don"t." as he sat up, "but then, why would have I saved you?" the question prompting her, she started to glare. "The bartender can vouch that this all began." Clearing his throat. "When he started to woo me over." Throwing his hands aside. "Thinking that I was a woman," as he places his hands back down, he noticed her face turn red. "Is she embarra.s.sed for thinking the same thing as the daemon?" Lovell thought to himself. Turning his eyes away, "Then a fight broke out between us when he called me an M-U-T-T."
"Mutt? Really?" Disbelieving Lovell. He just glared at her, "Okay then." Shrinking back down in her seat.
Lovell was growling at the word and leaning himself back in his seat. Looking over at her. "So, am I free to leave?" She looked over at him. The word why written on her face. He childishly smiled "Well, I am searching for someone important- "
Before Lovell could finish, two young men came rushing in. Huffing away, where one of them had looked over. His brown hair drenched in sweat as the dark haired one looked at the daemon"s corpse, "Ah man! The police beat us to him." His voice filled with disappointment.
"We never did anything; this young man did." One of her men spoke out.
They both turned to stare at Lovell. They were glancing over his slim body. Lovell seemed a little insulted by their body language towards him. Then glanced back to the officer. "Yeah right?" They spoke in unison. The look of skepticism covering their faces. Hurt by their comment.
"It"s true you two. He is the one who took down your quarry." She gestured over to Lovell, having an annoyed look. They looked back at him.
"She"s not lying you know. What"s so hard to believe about that?" Lovell gestured as he spoke. "I did defeat him, but things got a little hairy and ended up on the wrong end of my barrel." Resting his chin on his hand, looking back at the body. The woman got up.
As the other officers left, the two watched as each one seemed that they didn"t want to interact with them. The woman patted Lovell"s shoulder. "Good Luck with them." As she walked out, Lovell felt uncomfortable as she said that. They were turning over his attention to them. They shifted their gazes to him.
"Who are you?"
"What"s your hunter rank?"
"What division are you from?"
Lovell bombarded by them with questions. Waved both hands across to stop them. "Back off! Sheesh." They both stared at Lovell. "Sit first." They grabbed a chair each. The bartender brought something strong out for Lovell"s sake. Thanking him, he turned his attention back at the two. "Ok, one, my name is Lovell Krisnik." Clasping his hands together. "Two I"m a traveler looking for someone, so I"m not a hunter." The two went red. "yeah so in other words back off on the hunter stuff." Realizing that they might have some info if they were hunters.
"So, who are you looking for anyway." The brown-haired man promptly asked.
"Well first, is it not rude to introduce yourselves before we discuss anything of the sort?" Beginning to become unimpressed with them.
"Oh, right." The brown one was rubbing his head childishly. They looked to be no older than sixteen to eighteen years old. Knowing he looked young due to him being a theyan didn"t help either to them to respect him as an elder. "well let"s just say that it"s kind of a hard topic." Juggling his hands around. "You see we"re." He then cut off before finishing.
The door slammed open as soldiers rushed in. They all turned to see what was going on. The brown hair one becoming worried. While the other had a shocked look on his face. "Grab him and the other two." The commander ordered. The men grabbed the two, as they were trying to escape. Lovell was then trying to find out what was happening. Though one of the men came up behind him, striking him in the back, knocking him out. Now limp, as they packed him and the other two up as they headed out. The bartender was shrinking to the back once more.
As Lovell woke, he found himself with a splitting headache. Touching the b.u.mp, he realized that he was taken somewhere because of those two. Feeling the sheets under his hand, opening his eyes Lovell looking around he could see gold leafed furniture. With extravagant decor throughout the room. He was looking down at the sheets he noticed that they were silk threads. Jumping off the bed, Lovell was confused about his surroundings. Looking around again he saw a balcony and rushing over to get a better sense of where he was.
Looking out he could see city walls and castle walls surrounding the city. He went pale as he figured out that he was at the Grand Dale Castle. He was squatting down as he held the railing. "Just who are those boys?" he murmured to himself. A knock at the door caught Lovell"s attention.
Lovell stood up. "Are you awake, sir?" a woman"s voice asked beyond the door.
Sighing, "Yes," turning toward the door. "and you may come in."
The door opened. The woman walked in. Nervous as he watched her entered. She was holding some clean clothes in hand. She placed them on the bed. Standing there. "could you come here, sir." Lovell hesitant to come any closer. "I"m to help you get changed." Gesturing at the clothes. Lovell looked at her. "the king wishes to speak with you." Fear gripped Lovell as he walked over. She changed him into the clothes. They were very similar to his original, though the boots were half calf high. Dressed, the woman bowed her head, as she swayed her hand to the door. "This way sir."
As Lovell exited the room, four guards were waiting for him. Fully suited and armed with spears as they escorted him. "what"s going on here?" Lovell thought to himself, terrified that something bad was going to happen. As they made their way down the corridors, Lovell noticed a flower garden. One of the flowers was a white marigold or a Sehena, the flower of honoring a fallen one"s life and remembering Morris as they walked by it. They were finally reaching the throne room where the king was waiting — catching a glimpse of one of the two in a suit of armor with a lance. It was the one with the brown hair. Surprised to see he was a soldier.
Kneeling, the soldiers that brought him there left. His hands were sweaty from everything going on. "From what Gale has told me. You were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when Lance"s father, Master Pendragon, came to get them."
"Lance? Gale? So that"s their names?" Lovell thought to himself. "Yes, your majesty." Lovell"s fears were fading slightly. "what now? What is going to happen now?" Lovell panicked silently.
"He"s in search of something or someone, Sire?"
"Really, Lance. Hmm." The king began to think on the matter. Lovell Finding out that the brown haired one was Lance, leaving the other as Gale. The king sat back in his throne. "To whom or what are you looking for, Lovell." He stroked his beard waiting for his answer.
Knowing that the two had more than likely gave the king his name. Lovell closed his eyes. "A young woman. No older than twenty years old." Swallowing some fear. "with silver hair and eyes. With her skin being a milky white complexion." Lovell started to doubt that she was even alive. "Your majesty."
Resting his hand, the king stared at him. "I see." The King was closing his eyes". "I might know someone who can help." Shifting his weight. "though she"s a stubborn old woman."
"Really!" Lovell rose his head in excitement. "Finally, some luck." He thought to himself. Realizing afterward he had just risen his head without authority to raise it. SLAM!
The doors to the throne room rushed open. The commander waltzed in. Looking at Lovell. "You, insolent worm!" Noticing that his head raised towards the king. "How dare you raise your worthless gaze to his majesty?!" Lovell unimpressed. The commander grabs his arm.
"Father!" Lance was trying to get him to calm down.
"Enough out of you!" Scoffing at his son. "You"re not even worthy to even be my son!" the sound of a growling dog started to echo through the hall. "What was that?" Stopping in his tracks. Looking around to see all the dogs cower in utter terror. Lovell had become agitated with Lance"s father, was growling at him. The king was leaning in. His magic was erupting into a swirling fire surrounding his body. The commander letting go. "What"s going on now?" Anger still erupting from his voice. The fire grew as a large wolf paw came out of the fire, as the flames left revealing a huge, black wolf with a single blade horn, snarling towards Lance"s father. "What in all the heavenly plains?" Lance backed up in amazement. His father readying himself to strike the beast.
"Stay yourself Commander Pendragon!" the king roared. Lance"s father gritted his teeth. Getting up from his throne, the king made his way to the wolf. "Calm down young Theyan." Lance"s father froze as he looked at Lovell.
Now calmed down a bit. Lovell was standing tall over the commander. "You should know when not to but in," Lovell growled in his beast form. Lance"s mouth dropped. When he noticed Lovell could talk as his beast self. Normally when someone capable of shifting into a beast tries to talk, they can"t. The king seemed pleasantly surprised whereas Lance"s father looks like he stepped in dragon sh*t. "I"m sorry your majesty, for my behavior." As he changed back in the same manner in which he became a beast, he bowed upon changing back. "It"s just hard not to get mad when people start to judge someone based on what they see." Lovell paused. "It irritates me."
He was placing a hand on his shoulder. "It"s ok. The commander was in the wrong." Turning his gaze to Lance"s father. "he did interrupt our private conversation." The commander turning red as he couldn"t look at the king directly anymore. "now, where were we." Waving his hand over, Lovell nodded as he followed the king. Lance trailing behind. "ah yes, the person who could help in your search." Lovell"s eye"s light up once more. "she lives in the beastman kingdom known as Vonnail." They had entered the garden. Lovell looked over at the king as he paused in thought. "Her name seems to elude me at the time, but she"s well known as Grandmother K." stopping by the sehena"s. the king glance over to them. "I"m sorry if that is all I can give you."
Lovell smiled, shaking his head. "No, you have been more than helpful." Looking at the king. Lovell bowed. "I"m the one who should be apologizing. Since I can"t even give you the name of the woman, I am searching for, to protect her ident.i.ty." The king smiled as he looked towards the sky.
"Take my fool of a son, Gale, with you." The king"s voice was becoming concerned. "It"s not that he needs protecting, but he"s a fool when dealing with people." The king turns to Lovell. Bowing. "Please, will take him with you." Lance is watching the entrance, then left to find Gale.
Lovell touched his shoulder. Smiling, "Of course I would take him. It"s a lonely journey without company."
A sense of relief washed over the king. Placing his arm, along Lovells. Rested his hand on his shoulder, "May Lunatica"s guidance is with you." Shocked to hear those words from the king. He was hanging his heads smiling back up at the king.
"Thank you. May her grace guide you to a long life?"
The king walked back as he stood standing a little longer. Lovell knelt to admire the sehena. "Wish you were here Morris." Touching the petals. "You would have liked to have seen these." Standing up tears started to escaped Lovell"s eyes. Smiling, he walked away to the stables.
At the stables, Lovell noticed his horse. A wave of relief washed over him. Grabbing a brush, he went over to clean her. Approaching, he saw that she was injured. Checking the wound, he knew that it wasn"t right. She was as stubborn as any mule to not show that it was bothering her. "What did you do silly." Tears were flowing up. He had no choice but to put her out of her misery. She was hugging him as the tears ran into her coat. Stroking her mane, Lovell looked into her big eyes. "I"m so sorry girl." Using a spell allowing his hand to reach her heart. She seemed to know what was happening. Lying down, he started rubbing her head as he squeezed her heart. Life was leaving her eyes as she closed them.
Gale had gone looking for him after hearing some news from Lance. When he did find him, he watched Lovell finish killing his own horse. Walking over, Gale rubbed his shoulder as Lovell continued to cry away, not even saying a word to him. He could see he was hurting too much to talk as he wiped his eyes. "You want a new ride?" Gale was senselessly saying those words. "Ah, sorry." Catching what he had done. As Lance came over. Looking over at Lovell, Lance knew what was going on — gently grabbing Gale"s shoulder. He looked over shaking his head in silence. They began to leave when Lovell snagged Gales pants.
"No, I"ll find a new one over time." He had answered Gale"s question. Drying his eyes. "Sorry, she was a gift from someone that I respected." Standing up. "Besides where we"re going we won"t need a horse."
Gale and Lance looked at each other. Confused on what Lovell just said. "what do you mean by "we"?" Lance asked.
Lovell was taking a deep breath. "You want out right?" they both nodded. "Then go get packed. We leave in a week." Lovell seemed to recover quickly. Lance and Gale"s exchange looks before running off to pack. Lovell was smiling now, "Things are going to get interesting, to say the least." Looking back at his horses" body. He went to find some other people to help him pack it out of the stall, then burning it, trying not to let it bother him too much as he had now other things on his plate.
One of the soldiers contacted Lovell. Letting him know that dinner was ready and that the king would like for him to join them till his departure. Nodding, the soldier led the way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hunter, where are you?" A shadowy figured sitting on a throne bellowed.
A young man approach from the shadows. "You called milord?" His light brown hair is slipping past his face.
"Good. I have a mission for you, Hunter." Hunter lifted his gaze. His blue eye"s hungry. "you are to find this "Lovell" and dispose of him." The shadowed king resting his hand next to his mouth. "but wait till he finds Luna. She is to be brought to me." Hunter bowed once more pivoting around as he walked away. "one other thing, Hunter."
Stopping, Hunter twisted his body to his king. "Don"t engage Fang. Right?" Sneering.
The king cracked a grin, "Yes, DO everything in your power to not fight the man. He"s far more skilled than ten thousand of our most skilled men." His eyes cold staring at Hunter. Shrugging his shoulders as he continued out.
Hunter marched over to the dragon grounds. "You! Is Harpoon ready?" Hunter sneered. The keeper directed him to Harpoon. The grey scaled dragon lifting its head to Hunters presents. Looking at his dragon noticed that the riding gear was off. Hunter"s started to shake. The quartermaster noticing Hunter started to walk over to him. "Can someone tell me why my dragon is not ready?" Hunter barked before the quartermaster gripped his shoulder.
"Calm yourself, Hunter." Turning to him. Rage boiling in his eyes. "I found that Harpoon would be too obvious for your prey," Hunter growled as he listened. "Besides it is mating season for her. Taking a dragon in heat is total suicide."
Hunter was looking back at Harpoon, stared into her violet eyes. "Humph, your right Kyle." Peering out the corners of his eye"s. "Frack, I hate going on foot. Unless you have another means for me to go by?" Grinning at Kyle.
Kyle, lifting his gla.s.ses, brought him over to his workshop. "How"s this?" pulling a cover off a hoverbike. Hunter whistled at it as he checked it out. "It"s a late Terranea Era model that I fixed up." Smirking in joy at Hunter"s reaction. "by the way, it"s yours if you want it?"
Like a kid in a candy shop, Hunter turned to Kyle. "Of course, I"d take it." They grasped each other"s arms. They were longtime friends after all. "So, what"s your duties today? Other than being the quartermaster for the rookies?"
"If you count the paperwork from Han has not finished and leaving me to it. Again. Nothing." Kyle leaned against his work table. "Do you remember the man called… oh, what was his name again?" As Kyle was trying to remember. Hunter walked over.
"You mean that Morris guy?" Leaning next to him. His crystal blades were banging the table.
"Yes, that blasted man." Turning to Hunter. "It seems that he had connections to your prey."
Hunter looked as if he had something sour. "Great, my first lead is gone, into dragon fecal." Looking back on that moment he remembers a teen running up to this Morris. The kid"s face had looked just like his, but he had a honey blonde colored hair instead of a dirty blonde. "Hey, Kyle?" He looked back over. "Do you think that the kid that had run up to him, is my prey?"
Kyle began to think on the matter. "Now that you mention it?" He pondered it for a moment. Kyle lowered his hand slightly from his chin as he turns to Hunter. "Yes, actually it was him. My, by the heavens." Kyle surprised by the matter. "If he finds out that you killed that man he might give you a good fight."
Hunter is unimpressed that he met his prey ten years earlier. "Do you know what became of him." Anger and excitement raged through him — a dark grin making its way onto his face.
"He was last seen at Stonebeak." Kyle fixed his gla.s.ses. "You packed?"
"when am I never packed? Are you coming for the adventure?" His grin made Kyle start smiling.
"Who would keep you running otherwise?" Looking through the lower half of his gla.s.ses. "As well as keep you on track." The two smirking at each other got their things in order.
Hunter was starting the engine as Kyle sat on the back. Revving the engine as the portcullis raised. Once raised, Hunter hit the throttle. The was bolting out beyond the main fortress of the Faremin forces.
