The stock room was one of the largest room that he had ever seen. The unusual sides of the room were waved so it made it look like the vehicles were floating on an endless ocean. It did not look like the industrial downtown that Ellie had grown very used to over her stay at the Wong Building. Henry took her hand and he showed her around the different levels of the showroom where they could admire the interesting models that the Wong family had collected over the years. All of the car had a hydraulic lift below them so they could be lowered to the garage on the floor below and driven outside if the owner wanted to go for a test drive. There were also little plaques if a vehicle had historical significance or if the car had been driven in a formal race. Ellie found herself drawn to a Ford Fairlane that had been raced in 1966.Henry was glad to see Ellie"s look of serene repose. It was so nice to find someone who looked at this collection with as much reverence as he did. They way she touched each car was as if it was an idol of a G.o.d. "Don"t you find this place to be spectacular? There is no other place in the whole United States that has such an extensive collection. Our full collection is in China of course, it"s my grandfather"s collection there."
"I am so happy that our attachment got me to find such a beautiful place. I have dreamed of such a place. I always went to doctors who were innovators in their chosen medical specialty. In that same way they always wanted to push for advancements here the scientists are also trying to find the most perfect designs. To see what inspires people that intelligent is really a privilege." Ellie looked on with her face full of wonder. "I can"t say I am that eager to get back into the driver"s seat but looking at all of these cars really makes me miss mine. I"m so happy that people can use racing to get themselves out of bad situations. To be able to drive fast and well is prized anywhere you go. I"m happy that the new vehicle that could dominate the track could come from this very building. It"s exhilarating to think of those possibilities."
Henry looked at her with fresh eyes. He had seen many men speak like this where they wanted to trade in big ideas. Here was a lady who really understood. She savored the heart and pa.s.sion and science that went into making the incredible machines she had the privilege to drive. To find someone who understood these things the same way that he did felt like finding a precious flower in a garden. Great minds think alike, Henry thought to himself
