CEO Of My Heart

Chapter 203

Just so, he couldn"t convince himself that it would not be a good idea to at least say hi. He hadn"t really spoken to her with some time. He went over to his closet and began to sift through the starched suits that sat on hangers. He really was not in the mood to wear something restricting so early in the morning. He finally found a pair of grey joggers and a sweat resistant sweater that he could shrug on without asking for help from a staff member. He quickly geled his hair with a bit of product before he exited to the servants entrance using Michael"s customary exit from his room. He could smell something delicious. .h.i.t him from the corridor from a support kitchen so he made a quick pit shop to load himself up on baked goods.

Eyes wide the sous chef and the pastry chef looked on with a mixture of amus.e.m.e.nt and alarm. Henry dipped down between them to shove a chocolate chip cookie in a napkin. The cookies were hot as they had just now been removed from the oven. But, they didn"t move to stop him as he blew on his little gathering before waving merrily as he went on his way. The pastry chef sighed, "I guess I"ll just have to make an order for some new ones. The sir isn"t usually in such a good mood. Good for him, he could use some weight on those brittle bones of his if I would say so myself."

Henry had packed the cookies away into his pockets so when he had neared the woman he searched for she had made progress. Now she had made one complete lap around the garden and was on her second round. She seemed incredibly pleased with herself as Henry finally caught up with her. Ellie smiled at him with good natured grace. "Good morning Henry. You"re up with the birds. I wanted to come outside to see if they nest so high up here. You"re not usually up this early. It"s a nice surprise to see you here."

Henry greeted her smile with his own, he could feel the stormy feeling of his sleepless night draining from him. "Is it really a surprise to see me at my own home? It"s more of a surprise to see you here too. How are you up?"

He matched her measured steps slowly so she wouldn"t feel the need to match his steps and tire herself out. The balcony which doubled as a garden was so large that it could have been really called a small park if it was on the street below. It was nowhere near Central Park, but it did provide a nice s.p.a.ce to mill about. In his younger days, this had been one of his favorite places to think when he had been worried or studying for exams. The sunrise from this spot was particularly lovely as one could see all the way to the Hudson River from here and the reflections of the buildings of the skyline on water always made his heart beat faster.
