Have you ever felt that itch in your head that won"t go away? Or maybe is a bit of pain that seems to be there but isn"t connected to anything. It"s not earth shattering, life ending or in any way debilitating, but it"s more like a constant annoyance that you feel every moment of every day. Laz had been feeling this way for a few days. He couldn"t explain why he felt this way either. At first, it was something he could ignore, especially when he was focusing on training.

Over the course of two weeks, Laz and Kat ran together almost every day without fail. Even when the weather starting getting colder and colder, they just put on a few layers. As it turned out, their bodies provided enough heat to keep them warm as long as the heat wasn"t constantly escaping. As such, Laz got to experience I whole new level of thermal laced clothing that kind of resembled skin tight body suits.

They also fought constantly, giving Laz some much needed experience. When he first arrived, he could barely hold out for a time against Kat, much less fight her on even ground. But as the days wore on, Laz became better at learning her patterns and taking the instruction he was given on how to counter them and put it into use. As such, their fights began lasting longer and Laz would occasionally score a few hits on Kat. Even she had to admit his talent at fighting was rather splendid.

Of course, that did nothing but distract from the constant annoyance, not solve it. Because of this, by the time the second week was coming to an end, Laz started to become a bit withdrawn and kind of snappy in his mannerisms.

On one of their evening runs, Kat had been instructing Laz on how to deal with multiple opponents who had surrounded you. Although Laz was listening, his mind was somewhere else. When she noticed he was distracted, she jumped up and sent a round house kick flying at his back. This was her usual way of dealing with him when he wasn"t paying attention. Basically, she would attack him and wake him up. After the first few times, he got the feeling of aggression from her and was able to snap out of it before he was. .h.i.t. Today was not one of those days.

As the kick connected with Laz"s back, he was sent flying forward and ended up face first in the dirt.

"And that"s what happens when your a.s.s ignores me," Kat said as she stopped and stood over him. She had expected he would get up and either apologize or at least act sorry. Today however, he did neither.

Laying there, face down on the somewhat frozen surface of the ground, Laz just felt like not moving. He couldn"t stop thinking about the girls and what they were up to. Considering how long it had been he hadn"t heard a word back from them and he was worried.

"Oh, come the f.u.c.k on..." Kat bent over and using him like a sack of rice, pick him up over her head and set him back down as though he didn"t weigh a thing. Had someone seen this, they never would have believed that a girl could be that strong who didn"t look like a beast. But Kat could do it with guys twice Laz"s size. After being picked up and set down like an inanimate object, Laz could no longer laze around.

"What the h.e.l.l do you want? You knock me over and then get p.i.s.sed when I don"t get back up? Where"s the f.u.c.king logic there and what the h.e.l.l is your problem with it?" Laz had finally lost his cool. After a moment though of just looking at her in his p.i.s.sed off mood, he realized what he had done. Sure, Kat was a bit of a pervert and kind of a muscle head, but she had also taught him more in the almost two weeks he had been here than anyone had before. She was patient, insightful and rather straight forward about everything. She was honestly one of the best teachers he had ever had.

Laz felt a bit bad. He also felt a bit nervous since he knew her att.i.tude on these types of things. It went like this: Can"t keep up? Too bad p.u.s.s.y. Laz had the feeling she was going to get mad at him. Strangely though, she just kind of sigh and looked at him before shaking her head.

"Alright, today"s workout ends here. For tomorrow morning, sleep in, do whatever, but no practicing. Understood?"

Laz might have been wrong, but it almost looked like concern in her eyes.

"She"s worried about me?" Laz thought. He knew she didn"t hate him as much as she thought she was going to. She seemed to laugh and smile a lot when she was teaching him or messing with him. If anything, she was enjoying all this more than he was, of course he didn"t really come here to enjoy himself, but to improve himself.

By the time they got back it was already late. Laz had tried to apologize and make like nothing was wrong, but Kat wasn"t having it. She didn"t argue with him either, but looked a bit down herself. It was a rather quiet and depressing jog back. Since it was late, Laz went into his room and took a shower before laying down naked on his bed. Looking out the window, he got a strange sensation of things starting to blur.

Standing up, Laz went over to the incense burner and lit a stick of lavender to help calm himself. He found that he quite enjoyed it and it helped him to relax, at least temporarily. Sitting down, he tried meditating as he had seen both Kat and Jon do, but he wasn"t able to settle down. He saw them doing it the first time and asked what the point was. Jon told him it was to help clear the mind. Laz asked back if it was useful and Jon"s response was to just smile at him. Although Laz had done something similar when he, Kennedy and Malene had all used the flower nectar and the pond water, this was something different.

He didn"t see energy cycling through Kat or Jon. In fact, they both had slowed their heartbeats down so much that unless Laz looked closely, he might have mistaken them as being dead. Seeing as how they were both relaxed, Laz felt like maybe it was a good thing.

He just couldn"t do it.

Eventually he fell asleep without having settled his brain down. Because of that, his dreams were wild, weird and completely forgotten by the time he had awoken. As dawn light up the curtains, Laz realized that as she had said, Kat didn"t wake him up today. After laying in bed for a few hours without doing anything, Laz finally got up and made his way to the kitchen where he saw Kat with an ap.r.o.n on. It seemed as though she was doing the cooking today which was a bit surprising. Seeing Laz haven woken up and come in on his own accord, she brought over a few dishes for hime while sitting down herself.

Laz had no idea how she knew he would be coming when he did, but he didn"t question it.

"Today, dad had to go out of town for the weekend so it"s just us. We"ve also cancelled all the cla.s.ses for the day. Therefore, it"s just you and me today," Kat said with a bit of a smile that looked just a little evil.

"Uh. Ok..." Laz didn"t know what she meant by this and so he didn"t know how to respond.

"Anyway, you"re going out with me today, no arguments. Deal?" Seeing the happy look on her face, Laz simply responded back, "deal."

"Good. Then go make yourself all pretty for me cause we are going out."

"Uh.."

"Nope. No buts. I order and you listen. Thems the rules."

Laughing a bit at her att.i.tude, Laz agreed. After breakfast, he went to go get changed and met her down by the front door. He couldn"t help but notice that she was wearing some skin tight leggings along with a dark blue blouse and black vest. Even though he hadn"t taken long, she was still ready way earlier than he was. It seemed as though she had a plan. Going outside, she brought him to her rather rugged looking Jeep before jumping while dragging him along before flooring it out of the parking lot and down the road towards the center of town.

What followed was her dragging him to a few of her favorite stores in town including an old book store where she spent almost an hour going through romance novels before picking out one to buy. Also included was a shoe store, a nutrition center and a second hand goods store where she just browsed around but didn"t buy anything. For his part, Laz didn"t really look at anything but just held the bags containing her shoes and supplements. When they finally finished there, they ended up at the bowling alley.

Laz hadn"t been bowling before, but it wasn"t something that was hard to pick up. Wear some special shoes that hundreds of other feet had been in before, pick a ball based on finger size and weight and when it came your turn, try to knock down all the pins. Simple as that.

After they had both gotten their b.a.l.l.s, Kat went up first and rolled, only getting nine out of tens pins. Then, showing the skill of someone who had obviously done this before, she was able to get the last one for the spare. Spinning in place, Kat flashed Laz a "V" sign before walking back over. Just as Laz was about to stand up to take his turn however, Kat cam over and boldly sat right on his lap before wrapping her arms around his neck.

Since it wasn"t expected, Laz started to get a bit nervous by her strange actions. With her arms were wrapped around his head, Laz was able to feel her fingers rub along the back of his neck and head, giving him a rather soothing ma.s.sage.

"It"s ok you know. Whatever the problem is, it always ends one of two ways. Either you ignore it and it goes away, or your confront it and deal with it from there. There is no benefit to thinking about it too hard," Kat whispered in his ear gently, as though sharing a quiet secret with him . After hearing her words and feeling her hands, Laz"s normally tense back seemed to relax a slight bit.

"Hmm...?" After thinking over her words for a bit while having his neck rubbed, Laz seemed to relized that she was right.

"That which will happen will happen no matter how much you worry. So instead, for now anyway, just focus on us and the game. Let"s make a deal. Winner has to fulfill one wish to the loser no matter what it is. Deal?"

Looking at the young , s.e.xy woman who had been his drill instructor for the last two weeks purposing such a wild bet, Laz had a brief moment where a bunch of crazy scenarios flashed through his head. Of course, he readily agreed. He would have been a fool not to. Having that thought to motivate him, Laz stood up before grabbing his ball from the ball return and lining himself up with the pins.

This time, he was going to beat her for sure.
