Chapter 2 – Night (Part 2)
"Ah!"
In the midst of the ongoing search in the quiet Cold Palace, a splash of water was heard coming from the almost deserted lakeside.
It seemed like someone had stepped into the lake. Along with the splash, ripples formed on the surface of the lake. But even the dazzling light of the moon couldn"t illuminate the figure standing in the Moon Pavilion beside the lake.
In the darkness, a piece of torn green cloth was blown away by the wind, slowly leaving the pavilion and floating towards the sky. The green cloth concealed the silver gray moon but did not cover for long before being dancing away with the wind. Faintly shaking arms were pinned above the head, forming an uncomfortable arc and snow white fingertips struggled with great effort against the hard ground to the point that traces of blood could be found from scratches that were left.
Beads of glimmering sweat formed on the trembling flesh that looked like precious glittering gems.
But, even so, it still didn"t incite the least bit of mercy from that person.
A teardrop so clear reflected the moonlight and slid down the delicate and pretty face before landing on the floor。
In the night, only the sound of the woman"s melancholic groan and the man"s heavy breath were heard. An enticing scent slowly dispersed in the air and the gleaming light reflected upon the water surface slowly stirred.
The night, however, was still young.
Without knowing how much time had pa.s.sed, the group of eunuchs who were in the midst of searching stumbled upon this hidden place and only saw the tall stature of a handsome man. His forehead was creased and his clothes disheveled while leaning against a stone bench. The smell of alcohol distinct as his cheeks flushed red and eyes showed a tint of the same red. Hearing footsteps nearing, he slowly turned around to look.
As his gaze landed on them, the group of eunuchs broke out in cold sweat and immediately kneeled. "Your Majesty!"
The man did not say anything and could only the extend his hands to rub his dully-aching temples.
"Third Prince, the King is currently looking for you, please return."
"&h.e.l.lip;"
The man hadn"t uttered a word and only sat in silence for a while before getting up. And without turning back, he walked out of the small pavilion.
Under the moonlight, those ripped pieces of clothing was blown away by the wind and landed on the middle of the lake before slowly sinking.
As if to say that nothing at all had happened.
