Chapter 1189 Strange! (2)
w.a.n.g Teng charged into the mist with his teammates and vanished.
“How is that possible?”
Wendell was stunned. He stared in the direction they disappeared with wide eyes as if he had just seen a ghost.
He wanted to take back his words.
!!
This b.a.s.t.a.r.d wasn’t strong. He was ridiculously strong!
But the next instant, he regained his senses and shouted, “Quick, catch up with them.”
He wanted to escape through the hole w.a.n.g Teng created, but the vines didn’t fulfill his wish.
After charging three meters, the hole was blocked by countless vines again. They were forced back.
The black vines started tightening toward the center. The s.p.a.ce around them got smaller and smaller…
Despair appeared on the martial warriors’ faces.
Wendell hated w.a.n.g Teng to the core. To him, he was the cause of everything.
He wouldn’t have stopped if w.a.n.g Teng didn’t appear. If he didn’t stop, the low-tier devil emperor-level Devil Vine wouldn’t be able to catch up with them.
If w.a.n.g Teng didn’t leave them alone, they wouldn’t get surrounded by the devil vines.
This was all because of him!
…
On the other side, w.a.n.g Teng led his team to the location where the main body of the Devil Vine was. The Golden Crescent Blade hovered up and down, cutting the black vines that rushed over.
Peggy and the other didn’t relax either. They hurled Force attacks out to cover w.a.n.g Teng up.
Soon, w.a.n.g Teng arrived at a patch of land covered with black vines. He stomped on the ground.
Boom!
A giant crack appeared, and a humongous devil vine floated out.
“Caught you!”
w.a.n.g Teng sneered. He activated his Heart Of Magnetic Essence, and the rocks around him started gathering. They formed a large hand and stretched out to grab the Devil Vine.
A black light shone brightly. It managed to break free from the stone hand’s grip and tried to escape to the ground.
“Hmph!” w.a.n.g Teng snorted. He clenched his fist and punched downward.
Strength of Ultima!
Immense Force gathered and formed a terrifying fist mark, slamming the Devil Vine that tried to escape.
Boom!
A loud explosion occurred. The Devil Vine froze on the spot. Then, cracks started to appear on its solid and firm surface.
Bang!
The next instant, the Devil Vine exploded, splattering black juice everywhere.
“Dodge!” Peggy shouted.
Everyone’s expression changed. They separated in different directions to evade the black juice.
Hiss, hiss, hiss!
When the black juice landed on the ground and surrounding vegetation, hissing sounds were heard. Even plants that had already turned into dark plants got corroded and withered. The soil disintegrated and formed deep holes in the ground.
Everyone only came forward after all the black juice had disappeared.
They stared at w.a.n.g Teng in astonishment. They had finally witnessed w.a.n.g Teng kill a Devil Vine personally!
Moreover, this was a low-tier devil emperor-level Devil Vine. It wasn’t at the devil king level.
The difference was huge.
Wendell’s team was helpless in front of it. Yet w.a.n.g Teng destroyed it in a single punch.
During their previous mission, they knew that w.a.n.g Teng had the ability to kill a low-tier devil emperor. However, they didn’t witness the battle process.
This was the first time they saw it firsthand.
No words could describe their amazement.
A celestial-stage martial warrior managed to kill a low-tier devil emperor-level Devil Vine with a single punch. Would anyone believe it?
“Are you guys alright?” w.a.n.g Teng asked without turning his head. At the same time, he picked up the attribute bubbles.
Constellation Force (Dark)*5000
Devil Vine*800
Blank Attribute*12000
…
As expected of a low-tier devil emperor-level Devil Vine. It dropped more attribute bubbles than devil king-level Devil Vine.
“Major w.a.n.g Teng, we’re alright,” Peggy replied after looking at everyone.
“I didn’t expect a low-tier devil emperor-level Devil Vine to appear here. I’m getting more and more interested in what’s hidden here,” w.a.n.g Teng muttered.
“The dark apparitions must have some huge plans since they used a low-tier devil emperor-level Devil Vine to guard this place,” Peggy said with a frown.
“You’re right.” w.a.n.g Teng nodded grimly.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of someone moving and brus.h.i.+ng against the air. The sound was almost negligible, but w.a.n.g Teng and his team members detected it instantly.
The person seemed to be panting heavily.
A few people stumbled out from the mist.
“w.a.n.g Teng!” Wendell glared at w.a.n.g Teng the moment he saw him.
But he was also shocked by the scene. w.a.n.g Teng seemed to have destroyed the low-tier devil emperor-level Devil Vine.
This b.a.s.t.a.r.d was quite powerful and smart!
“Hey, isn’t that Raging Wolf Wendell? You managed to barge your way out,” w.a.n.g Teng exclaimed in surprise.
Silence.
Wendell felt a stab in his heart.
w.a.n.g Teng must have destroyed the Devil Vine, which was why they were able to escape. They needed to thank him.
If he had finished it off a little later, they would be dead.
w.a.n.g Teng knew this too. Was he mocking him?
“w.a.n.g Teng, don’t be proud. We don’t know who will complete the mission first. The final winner hasn’t been decided yet,” Wendell said coldly.
“We’ll thank you if you save Di Qi,” w.a.n.g Teng replied sincerely.
Wendell felt as though he had punched a ball of cotton. He was so frustrated that he wanted to vomit blood.
Why did he work so hard to complete this mission?
To get w.a.n.g Teng’s grat.i.tude?
Go to h.e.l.l! You’re playing with my feelings.
“w.a.n.g Teng, I sense Cousin Di Qi. He’s nearby,” Olivia suddenly cried out.
“Nearby?” w.a.n.g Teng frowned. He looked at Olivia and asked, “Are you sure?”
“Yes. He’s just nearby.” Olivia nodded resolutely after closing her eyes and sensing her surroundings carefully.
“Be careful. We might have reached our destination,” w.a.n.g Teng said to his team members. He turned vigilant.
“Yes!” Peggy and the others replied.
Wendell also heard their conversation. He glanced at him before looking at his team members. They immediately understood what he meant and nodded silently.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Footsteps were suddenly heard in the mist. Everyone felt their hearts tightening.
The footsteps seemed to come from all directions. It was impossible to confirm the exact direction.
But it didn’t affect w.a.n.g Teng. His eyes glittered, and he scanned his surroundings. Instantly, he found the source and told his team members through voice transmission.
They followed w.a.n.g Teng’s gaze and saw a figure walking out of the mist gradually.
“Cousin!”
Olivia cried in delight. She wanted to rush over.
“Don’t!” w.a.n.g Teng grabbed her shoulder and pressed the reckless young girl down.
Although the person was Di Qi, he looked strange. His face was as white as paper while his gaze was dull. There was a sinister smile hanging on his face too.
Olivia wanted to speak, but she shuddered when she saw w.a.n.g Teng’s somber expression. She had an ill premonition.
“Brother w.a.n.g Teng, my cousin…”
“Don’t speak, watch,” w.a.n.g Teng said in a low voice.
Olivia pouted and shut her mouth obediently. She was extremely worried.
“Major w.a.n.g Teng, is this a fake Colonel Di Qi?” Peggy looked at the other party carefully before asking in a hesitant tone.
“Yes. But something is controlling him,” w.a.n.g Teng said.
“What? Di Qi is being controlled?” Olivia was flabbergasted. Her eyes turned red, and she asked, “Brother w.a.n.g Teng, my cousin…”
“Don’t start crying now. He isn’t dead,” w.a.n.g Teng replied.
“Hmph, they’re acting all mysterious. I don’t care what’s controlling him. I’ll bring him back and complete my mission.” Wendell also noticed something amiss with Di Qi, but he still snorted and charged forward, afraid that w.a.n.g Teng would act before him.
