[Friday, Lesson 3 - PE]"I get that we were given a choice of what to do, but why did we pick Badminton?" Ruby asked Kaylee who was happily sitting down watching others play.
"Because Lily didn"t want to do anything too sporty and I like badminton. It"s fun."
Ruby sat down next to Kaylee and a pile of clothes.
"What"s up with these clothes?" She asked.
"That"s Lily," Kaylee replied.
Ruby began poking at the pile and each poke caused it to squirm. Out from the pile emerged a small and shy Lily who refused to get involved in PE.
"It"s too bright out here… I"m going back in." Lily said as she retreated into her clothes pile.
"The guys got to play Danish Longball, why didn"t we get to play that?" Ruby asked.
"Because we didn"t vote for that. I can"t believe you are questioning the vote. We all have to suck it up and accept it."
"Ah, Ok. I understand." Kaylee didn"t need to say anything else to stop Ruby from complaining. Since the drama performance at the school festival, she always wished to have used her acting abilities more often, even if it meant being fake annoyed at her friends. Even if it does sound like an awful thing to do, she was filled with glee from it working.
"We can go outside if we want," Lily said through her shield. "We aren"t forced to do anything today."
"Good idea!" Kaylee said, "Let"s go play badminton."
"Eahhh." Lily squealed "Why are you forcing me out of my bubble. I don"t like sports. You know that"s not what I meant."
"Come on, Lily. You"ve got to at least do one match."
Kaylee tugged as hard as she could but Lily had a tight grip on a bar that was somehow sticking out of the wall.
"Ruby, come help me." Kaylee cried out.
"No! Please help me!" Lily begged.
"You are both hopeless."
After several tiring minutes of forcing Lily out, they started their first game. Since Ruby and Kaylee weren"t murderers they let Lily be the referee and keep score. She sat on a chair at the side of the net exposed in her PE top and shorts.
The match started with Ruby serving and each time scoring on Kaylee. it was unfair that Ruby served when she did. Kaylee was too focused on Lily"s cute cowardness that she couldn"t keep her eyes away, she could barely stop herself from walking up and squeezing her.
"Match over, Ruby wins," Lily announced.
"Huh? Wait, what? I didn"t even get to serve."
"You should have been paying attention," Ruby said.
"d.a.m.n it," Kaylee said. "I demand a rematch!"
Kaylee and Ruby began arguing about the match. It was up to Lily to decide if the match was void or not but she just doesn"t want anyone to argue.
"Please stop arguing." She said wrapping herself back up in clothes.
"Lily"s right," Kaylee said. "Let"s not argue. You win. Who is playing next?"
They all looked at each other and knew that Lily wasn"t going to play. Kaylee and Ruby proceeded to have another match.
When both of them paid attention, there was no stopping them. They both were ferociously hitting it back and forth, never letting it pa.s.sed them.
"Whew. Good match." Kaylee said reaching out to shake Ruby"s hand.
"Pfft. Whatever, you got lucky."
The two of them sat back down next to the sheltered Lily. The three of them sat in silence and stood out to everyone else.
"Hey, look," Kaylee said. "The boys are back. Let"s go and speak to them."
The two of them run up to Ethan and Owen who sat down at the end of the sports hall. Owen immediately collapsed his head into his hands.
"How did he do that? What was wrong with me? I should have seen it coming." He kept repeating.
"What"s wrong with him?" Ruby asked.
"Ah, ignore him. He"s upset because he lost." Ethan said

"I know the feeling."
"I DON"T GET IT," Owen screamed. "HOW DID HE DO THAT. IT MUST BE AGAINST THE RULES. WAS ANYONE EVEN LOOKING? DID I IMAGINE IT? WHAT HAPPENED?"
With Owen screaming in confusing Ethan started to throw anything he could find at him in hopes he would be quite. The two of them completely ignored Ruby and Kaylee and started an impromptu dodgeball match with whatever they could find.
"Hey, what"s happening here?" Several minutes later Sean walked in and attempted to break up the weakest throwers in the world.
"Nothing," Ruby said. "Just ignore it."
shuffle shuffle
"Eh?" the sound of shuffling alerted Sean to a pile of clothes that wiggled its way across the floor. Out from the pile, Lily stuck her head out and smile at Sean who proceeded to pat the tiny hidden Lily on the head.
"What are we witnessing?" Ruby said.
"I don"t know," Kaylee replied. "But it sure is fun. I"m going to miss PE."
"Hmm. yeah, it has been fun."
"I won"t," Lily said. "I"ll be glad it"s gone."
Ruby and Kaylee looked at Lily and joined in with the head patting. Whilst this was going on they forgot about Owen and Ethan who had to be held back by the teachers because they started to pick up benches and use them as the b.a.l.l.s.
