"I can"t feel my arms anymore..." Eddra thought to himself, struggling while he threw the last ten swings to complete the requirement from the quest. He went from completing his runs and push-ups onto hitting the practice dummy and separately swinging the wooden sword. All together were completed barely before the sunset. It was physical exhaustion, and he probably had done something similar when he was in the army. The only difference was that there would be a knight major constantly finding fault with everything he was doing, casting aspersions on him every time they would meet.

"... What"s that?" Eddra wondered, deep squatting on his toes while the plates started vanishing slowly of which was followed with the consecutive sounds ringing in his ears and the new plates popping out.

[You have learned a skill!]
[You have learned a skill!]
[You have learned a skill!]
It was a new command. Eddra had acquired a new command, and strangely though, he felt excited to test it out. "[Skills]," he stated.
Ding!
A portrait plate floated before him, two boxes were separating the s.p.a.ce below and the name of the plate above it, saying [Skills]. Eddra scanned the first box that was automatically on focused that was called [Pa.s.sive] and read the contents. There were two cascading names listed: [Born to Fight] and [Wrath].
"What are these?" He looked at it. On the right side names, there were pictures while the designated levels of the skills were on the left side. Curious, Eddra brought a finger and pressed the first skill on the list, showing yet another plate beside it.
[Born for Combat, Level 1
When in the middle of combat, strength will increase to 5%.
When in the middle of combat, agility will increase to 5%.
With a melee weapon in hand, attack damage will increase to 10%.
With a melee weapon in hand, attack speed will increase to 7%.]
Just after it showed the description of the learned skill, Eddra heard a voice reciting the contents of the plate. It was either a woman or a man"s, he could not cla.s.sify to what was the gender of the owner. The only thing he knew was it creeped the s.h.i.t out of him and he wanted to silence the voice immediately. Now, Eddra felt he did not want to open the other ones.
"... However, it is necessary to gain knowledge about this s.h.i.tty [System]." Sighing, Eddra thought why did it have to be a creepy voice. Regardless, he pressed the last skill below it.
[Wrath, Level 1
When provoked, attack damage will increase to 10%.
When provoked, attack speed will increase to 15%.
Addition 10 to maximum heath.]
"Is that all?" Eddra asked himself, rubbing off the small b.u.mps forming on his skin. Creeped out he moved onto the second box called [Active]. The last column revealed a list similar to what it had in the [Pa.s.sive], however, it was contained with only one skill—[Blink].
[Blink, Level 1Cost: 45 Mana
Teleport on a location around 0 to a maximum of 4 meters.
When near the enemies, attack damage will increase to 10%.]
"... What does it mean by teleport?" Eddra mumbled. He had never read such a foreign word before. Without a clue to what might happen, he chanted the skill right around the time the voice recited the details.
"[Blink]."
Shortly after he chanted the skill, Eddra suddenly felt his body was getting dragged—pulled out of nowhere. And a momentary stutter towards the latter, he was transported inside a room—where supposedly he was standing before the practice dummy that he placed outside, at the back of the mansion.
"What..."
He was speechless. No other words could not leave his mouth, and even his mind went blank that he could not think of anything when he vanished from the origin.
Eddra felt his sweat on his forehead dropping to his cheek. He moved his vision and surveyed the room where he teleported. When he felt that the room was entirely familiar, he immediately turned at his back.
It was then, that Eddra saw the torso of the practice dummy by the gla.s.ses of the window before him.
...
Eddra took a rest after the incident. He slept heavily until before the sun could rise again. He felt off, and even the people around him could notice this when he went back to his quarters.
He simply could not believe what had happened to him that day. It won"t sink in his mind that he forgot he was supposed to see the friend of his mother.

Right at the moment when he could not move on to the occurrence, yet another feature was included in the rewards. Scratching the back of his head, Eddra remembered that he forgot about the stat points out of shock. This made him forcibly snapped himself out from what had happened yesterday.
"[Status]."

The status plate revealed itself, floating before him as Eddra looked at his [Base Stats] and the remaining ones that he could use to increase the amount of the [Base Stats]. He had gained them all from the three side quests and the routine. Even though the points were not included in the rewards when he did the side quests, he could still earn them.
"Isn"t that cheating?" He hummed to himself. Moreover, the number of his [Strength] was unknowingly higher than the others. What caused it to do that? Did his daily practice of swordsmanship when he was little was the reason behind it?
Eddra pressed the plus sign to [Strength] three times and it increased. He did that same to his [Agility], he pressed once, and [Dexterity], where he consumed all of the points that were left. Soon after he consumed them all, Eddra wanted to lessen his [Strength], however, he failed to do so. When he pressed the minus sign, it did not decrease, as if the sign was locked.

While Eddra was viewing his stats, the details of the skill he had acquired not long ago went in his mind. "The [Active Skill] yesterday... it said it costs mana. What is mana?"
Just when there was still so much information he needed to learn about the [System], it kept on adding new features. "Well, let"s do it later. I will work with my [Luck] today," he jokingly muttered.
...
Similar to what Eddra had done with his routine yesterday, the order was finishing the stamina run and push-up before moving onto the swings and hits. He would always hide at the back of the mansion when he was doing the swings and hits since Eddra could not afford any disturbance and drew attention to the people around the mansion. Not to mention, he was informed a short time ago that the gentleman and his recruits were out for a quick scout.
"They are the recruits, right? What"s with scouting?" Eddra thought to himself while he swung the sword for the last four times to fulfill the required amount. "Maybe the gentleman was looking for another recruit."
With the last swung of the sword, Eddra ma.s.saged the back of his shoulder. After the routine yesterday, he woke this morning with the body pain similar to what he experienced when he was training with the knight major.
"Ugh... I"m hungry. I want to eat something." he groaned.
Eddra refused to eat his breakfast nor take a rest to complete the routine faster since they would be leaving later after lunch. Shortly after his whining, he started hitting the practice dummy again.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ..., 100, 101—
Loud thuds echoed throughout the open area, making him anxious that someone might look over to his training place. Eddra felt his arms would melt anytime soon. He wanted to stop the stinging sensation from his arms—he felt pain from his shoulders to his thighs.
Eddra wished for the [System] to be a bit gentle with the routine it was giving. Everything was simply exhausting, and he felt he wanted to die for the fourth time, however, he knew that the hunting [System] would only increase the difficulty.
102, 103, ..., 124, 125—
"d.a.m.n, man. That gotta hurt."
"Yeah... Nice posture though."
Soon as he heard the voices, Eddra immediately halted and looked to the direction where they came from. He saw two men standing beside each other.
