Chapter 3: Part 1
That night, the ritual took place.
In the room in the mansion’s bas.e.m.e.nt, Sateriasis removed the sword from its sheath and raised it high above his head while Lukana, Mikulia, and the I.R. in her girl form watched.
“Be careful.”
I.R. advised Sateriasis. For she knew he failed to perform this ritual once before and ended up losing his memory.
“Pay close attention to controlling the power. If anything goes wrong, the technique won’t just affect the target but you as well.”
“I know.”
Sateriasis began chanting the words I.R. had taught him.
Since he wasn’t a mage, he couldn’t normally perform magic.
But it’s different if there’s a vessel of sin.
Following Sateriasis, Lukana and Mikulia began reciting the spell as well.
While Lukana chanted it fluently, Mikulia kept messing up the words until I.R. finally stopped her recitation.
“…… You can you just stand there.”
“…… Okaaay.”
The sword began emitting a dull light. In comparison to the light, the lights on the wall and in the fireplace were extinguished.
“The effective range…… would be Lasaland and its surrounding area at best. If the range is made too wide, the possibility of failure increases.”
Keeping I.R.’s advice in mind, Sateriasis imagined the cityscape of Lasaland and the idyll countryside of Abito village.
“Well then…… let’s go.”
At the signal of Sateriasis’ words, the light of the sword diffused greatly, releasing itself outside the mansion.
It continued to expand and, before long, became very small, dispersing into specks that were practically invisible to the naked eye.
They rained down from the sky upon the city of Lasaland and Abito.
“…… Whew.”
Once the ceremony was over, Sateriasis staggered before sitting in a chair.
“Are you alright, Lord Venomania?”
Lukana quickly poured water from a jug into a cup and gave it to Sateriasis.
“Yes. I’m a little tired but there aren’t any issues.”
Once Sateriasis drank the water, he questioned I.R.
“Then it went well?”
“Yeah. Most likely. From today onward, the fact that you’ve come in contact with me and these women has been erased from the people’s memory.”
That Lukana was making Sateriasis’ clothes, that he visited the village of Abito——all of these things became “nonexistent”.
Sateriasis’ l.u.s.t spell could only be used on the opposite s.e.x. Since Sateriasis is a man, it was only able to have an effect on woman.
But, the “ritual” Sateriasis just performed was something special for a mage to amplify the effects of the “magic” the vessels of sin performed so that, regardless of the demon’s abilities, it was effective against both men and women.
However, it was limited to just “erasing memories related to a particular person”.
Sateriasis had done this ritual once before. It was immediately after the murders he had caused in this mansion. In fact, that incident was due to him being witnessed by some other than I.R.
As it stood, it would’ve only been a matter of time before he’d have been caught. So immediately after he made his contract with the demon, Sateriasis executed the ritual I.R. had taught him. As a result of the ceremony, he was successful in erasing the witness’ memory. But, because he made a mistake in the technique, Sateriasis lost his own memory.
“It isn’t something you should misuse at a moment’s notice.”
Sateriasis leaned his body against the back of the chair, breathing out such words.
“That’s right. So basically avoid the public eye unless you have to.”
“I understand…… Well then, Mikulia, shall we be off?”
Finishing his conversation with I.R., Sateriasis stood and wrapped his arm around Mikulia’s waist to go somewhere.
“Now wait a second. Where are you going?”
Though having a good idea, I.R. ventured to ask.
“Isn’t it obvious? To the bedroom.”
Coinciding with the expected answer, Sateriasis gave her an elated smile.
“…… Figures. Honestly, with those unsteady legs, How can you……”
“I’ve room for dessert. This and that are entirely unrelated. What if you were to join us?”
“…… Seems you want to be turned to ashes.”
“Sorry, I’d like to avoid that.”
Sateriasis and Mikulia exited the room and disappeared into the darkness of the hall.
