Instinctively following the crowd, Nur ended up near the balcony. Apparently the mountain had an illusion cast on it, so the peak that had the palace on top looked like a snow peak. The reality-it was an enormous building with a large balcony that gave a mesmerizing gaze at the bottom of the mountain."Wow, there really is snow underneath there" Nur noted after taking off the uncomfortable mask. The snow at the bottom of the mountain along with the summer that seemed to begin at the line where the snow thinned and stretched towards the human kingdom. Combined with the stars of the starry night, it was a view worth thousand moons.
"Enjoying the view?" a soft-sounding female voice asked.
"Yes, it is wonderful…" Nur turned around and saw himself face to face with a young girl with white hair. She seemed to be in her teens, but the aura she gave off immediately alerted him of her not so ordinary nature.
"I saw you when you entered with her…I never would have believed it had I not seen it myself." Now that Nur looked closer at her he could tell she was wearing golden and white dress, with a tiara that had a sand hourgla.s.s symbol on top of it. By human standards she would be considered a beauty, but there was something wrong with her smile. "And to top it all off, she of all angels, has a servant of her own. Who also happens to be a mortal human?" Nur gasped and tried to hide his face but it was too late "That is unacceptable."
"NUR!!!" Now it was the voice of Desolai who was at the other side of the balcony. She tracked her servant down only to find him face to face with a deity.
"Desolai!" Nur shouted out, but then he found his body stopped in time. His eyes open as his body stayed still. "I can"t move. Desolai please help…"
"Desolai, the one angel who refused to become mine…" The deity"s hair flowed behind her in wavy pattern. She was obviously angered.
"Chronos!" Desolai immediately was alarmed. This was no ordinary Deity. The Primary Deity of time-Chronos. A very dangerous ent.i.ty who was the true ruler of time.
"I must say, I am glad you remember me, considering…" Chronos said mockingly.
"He has nothing to do with this! Let him go!" Desolai cried out, she couldn"t move forward either. As soon as she entered ten meter radius of the deity, her body movement slowed down, not moving an inch. That was the power of the primary deity, Chronos could easily overpower a weaker deity such as an Angel of Death.
"Aren"t you a little too arrogant for a Secondary deity, to have the nerve to have a servant, in the presence of the Primary Deity you refused to serve…?"
"Chronos, please…" Desolai"s pleading fell upon deaf ears.
"Now let me show you the disappointment of losing your precious mortal servant." Chronos approached Nur"s still body stuck in time, and proceeded to stab him in the chest with her thumb. It didn"t hurt a lot but a drop of blood flowed down his chest. Then using her index finger she made a counterclockwise circular motion while holding her thumb in place. Then she took her hand off of him.
With a click of her fingers, a portal opened behind Nur, a doorway that looked like a hole that seemed to suck everything into it.
With a swift motion, she grabbed Nur"s body by the collar and held it before the portal.
"Chronos, please, don"t do this. He doesn"t deserve to …"
"Anyone who swore to serve you shall meet this fate, you have only yourself to blame for choosing Olim over me!" She clutched Nur"s collar tightly. "I may not be able to hurt you because of his protection, but the same can"t be said about him!"
Nur"s body couldn"t move, as if paralyzed within time. He could see but he couldn"t clearly hear.
"He is just a human!"
"Even more of a reason for me to judge him!" She loosened her grip on his collar, allowing the black hole within the portal absorbs him, but not before whispering in his ear "I am going to have a lot of fun seeing you break."
Now, Nur"s body was sucked into the portal, his mind slowly pa.s.sing out as the endless lights within portal swallowed him whole.
Desolai shouted "Chronos, return him this instant!"
"He he he …." Chronos"s own body now turned see through before finally disappearing.
"Nur…" Desolai could now only weakly say her servant"s name. Chronos, the primary deity who held grudge against her for eons had taken her servant, the father of her child, away from her to who knows where and when. With a feeling of utter defeat, Desolai fell on her knees, tears streaming down her face, sobbing from the sheer shock of losing someone she grew to care for. That day, she not only lost her servant, but she lost an important friend who gave so much to her in such little time. "So this is what it means to love" Desolai sadly remarked as she felt the pain in her chest. The emotion she felt could only be described as such. Sadly, she understood that feeling when it was already too late.
