Claudia started work as usual. Her steps were lighter and the smile on her face was brighter. Her excellent mood made the employees more relaxed and more efficient.Like he wrote down, he did come get her at 9pm after the salon closed. He had a smile on his face, and she was giddy with happiness.
"How was work," he asked gently, taking her purse from her.
"It was fine. How was your day?"
"There was nothing much to do."
Throughout the day, he had been glued to his phone, constantly checking the time.
"I"ll take you home," he offered.
She blushed, "okay."
How could she reject his goodwill?
They walked towards pinkie and Justin put on a confused look.
"Hop on. I"ll take you to a place."
He did exactly as he was asked to do. He didn"t even ask where she was taking him to.
"Tighten your grip around my waist. I don"t want you falling off and suing later," she chuckled.
He tightened his arms around her while sitting stiffly on pinkie. He was a tad too big for the small scooter.
The atmosphere was great for the couple. The night breeze kissed their skin as they made their way to their destination. The drive wasn"t very long.
10minutes later, she parked by a playground and they both got off.
"The playground is fun at night. This is where I sort out my feelings the best," she said in a low voice as if reminiscing.
He didn"t say a word. He just followed after her quietly.
Claudia sat on the swing and in sync, Justin pushed. The sound of her laughter echoed through the night. Justin watched her laugh and his heart felt at ease. He was really grateful that he had that talk with Tasha. He had missed so much time with her that he needed to make up for it.
"Stop... stop... I"m breathless."
Justin steadied the swing and no longer pushed. Claudia was still reeling from the excitement. She liked this moment. Even though they weren"t conversing, his presence made her extremely joyful.
Justin squatted in front of her drawing her attention back on to him.
"What"s up?" She wasn"t sure what was going on.
He peered into her eyes, "Winter," he bagan.
"I know this won"t make up for those times I pushed you away nor the times I said hurtful words to you, but I wish you"d know that I am genuinely sorry and I regret it all. Out of my selfish thinking, I made a decision that hurt the both of us. It might be too late to take those words back, but I want to make up for it. Time is too short to live in regret, and like I just learned, no one knows tomorrow. Give me a chance to make it up to you. Be mine, Winnie."
