*UNEDITED*Following Morning - XX Villa - Star Town
When he first wakes up, there is one thing he always does first and that is to check up on her. On most occasions, he would be asleep beside her. Since they grew up together, Kiryu can"t remember a time where he didn"t fall asleep with Teras.h.i.+ma Lila in his arms, when he didn"t wake up to her warmth. That"s why the past ten months were very difficult for him.
Fast asleep huh? Recently she"s been like that a lot. Kiryu carefully removes her arms from him, seeing her s.h.i.+ver he pulls the duvet over her. He searches around for a jumper and placed them on before walking out the room. He didn"t think Lila would stay over. But then again, Lila cried so much. He couldn"t bare to send her away when she acted like that.
Still, "was sleeping in the same bed such a good idea?" Kiryu felt restless the entire night. He was worried that he would accidentally do something to her.
Kiryu walked down the stairs feeling groggy. The moment he reached the bottom, he noticed something was a off. A foul scent filled the air. Something smells burnt. He has a bad feeling about this. Kiryu popped his head in the door to the breakfast room, "Hey, Uncle Taku ---- " his sentence falls short when he saw the state of the room. .
Since the living room is connected to the breakfast room. The smell was there too, so it took him a few seconds extra to find the source.
The state of the room was a complete mess, and the black smoke came from the kitchen area. He stares at the sight in complete disbelief.
"Hey, your up Kiryu. I was thinking that I should at least do housework once in awhile. You slept in pretty late as well. Did you and Lilchan spend all night watching the stars? "
Kiryu nodded and sighs deeply as he combs his hair with his fingers, " Yeah. Say, Uncle I"ve told you many times that you don"t have to over do it."
Or rather it was just his luck that his Uncle was using the Villa too.
"Huh? What is it? I can"t here you. All right, done. " His uncle turns to him and holds up a plate. "Here is our breakfast."
What"s with that proud look on his Uncle"s face? Does he realize what he is holding? Kiryu would describe the astrocity on the plate right now. However it"s too disgusting for words.
Kiryu didn"t say a word, but his eyes said it all. His uncle pouted.
"You"re so mean, Kiryu. I worked hard on it too."
Kiryu however instructed his Uncle to dump the contents in the bin, and wash the mess he made. He proceeded to clean up the mess in the living room. Kiryu picked up articles of clothes and blankets, and put them inside the wash basket. Geez, why is he messing the villa up for?
"Stop complaining, and just make the kitchen return to normal for me. Dump everything in to the disposer," Kiryu lectured.
It took a full 40 minutes before the kitchen is clean, and the one who did the cleaning was him. Currently Kiryu put the articles of dirty clothing into the was.h.i.+ng machine.
"I"m hungry Kiryu. Breakfast. Breakfast. "
His eyes twitches in annoyance, " Hey old man, can"t you hold on for a few minutes? " He can"t multi-task and he doesn"t want Lila waking up to such a mess. Knowing her, she would end up trying to clean even though she"s the guest here. His thoughts broke of hearing the sound of barks to find two small puppies on the floor.
"What are these?"
"Ah, I just couldn"t abandon them yesterday. I plan to find someone to take care of them at the shop tomorrow or something. " His uncle owns a motorbike shop. But Kiryu doubts any guys working in that place would actually want to take care of these puppies.
He can already see what their answers will be. No. If that"s the case then surely these guys will have no where to go. They will be abandoned... Kiryu however quickly turned away. It"s not like he could raise them, he"s far too busy. He can"t even take care of himself properly, let alone two puppies.
..
After he sprinkled the last of the peppers on the spaghetti, he tips it over on to a huge bowl. Then he he placed some on a plate. Having spaghetti for breakfast isn"t exactly ideal. However there"s no rice anywhere, or even fish and bread. Guess he ought to go shopping later on. Kiryu didn"t want to bring Lila to his apartment knowing Rosalia would be there. So, he took her to the villa even though it was further away.
"Here"s your share over there," Kiryu said pointing to square bowl of fermented soybeans, with mustard and ketchup sauce in packets.
His Uncles expression fell as he picked up the bowl and crushed the beans with his chopsticks. Kiryu sighed, why is this man so hopeless? He"s a grown man too.
"Will you stop doing what you"re not asked to from now on, Uncle?"
Taku nodded enthusiastically.
Kiryu raised his eyebrow, "Anything else you want to say?"
"I"m sorry, I won"t do it anymore."
It doesn"t sound very sincere. But he suppose it"s better than nothing. Kiryu handed his Uncle a plate. It didn"t take them long before they both finished the meal. Kiryu was glad that he could eat his meal in peace. The last thing he needed was more of his Uncle being an idiot. However, he would rather have him being an idiot rather than now. The second he sat down on the couch. His Uncle sits on the end not facing him, and lights his cigarette.
"So, you already know about your mothers situation and who your real father is right?"
Kiryu nodded, "Yeah."
"My brother being your father may actually be a good thing for you. I"m genuinely your uncle too. But, it must be hard for you to take in after all this time."
"Can you blame me? I don"t have good memories of when I was younger," Kiryu mumbled. Other than the memories of him and Lila. That"s right, she was his suns.h.i.+ne. "Besides, I understand the situation. Still, do you know how much I suffered as a child? The old man wasn"t my father, and that explains his treatment for me. As a child who craved love and affection like all the other kids his age. I used to think I was the problem, that there was something wrong with me. I had such foul and negative thoughts about myself."
What was it all for in the end? Only to find out that the old man wasn"t his father at all, his behaviour towards him was normal. Him acting favourably towards Akari made more sense too. For the longest time Kiryu held a grudge against his half sister. But now? "There was no need." Absolutely no need at all. The one who he should have directed this hate too was...
"My mother, she didn"t say a word. She..even her?"
"Kiryu, don"t blame your mother for this. She was having a very hard time then too."
Kiryu understood that very well. She must have gone through a lot to decide who she would stay with. Hisame-san and Mother were engaged - but she couldn"t let go of her feelings for the old man and married him instead. Yet, it back fired on her. Their marriage fell apart, and Hisame-san made a deal for Mother. Anybody hearing it would stray away due to the complications.
