Chapter 721: Devil"s Lullaby

One hour later - Tok.u.mori Arata"s Apartment  - 12:00

Back to back solo live concerts, practice for hers and Yumeko"s concert - and her other work. Lila felt overwhelmed with everything. So when Haruka suggested a change of pace, she quickly rearranged the rest of her work. Haruka impatiently rang the doorbell and she tugged on his sleeve.

"If he is busy we should leave him alone." Lila mumbled. "We can go somewhere else."

Fifteen minutes already pa.s.sed and yet Arata didn"t answer the door.

"That"s why we have to bother him." Haruka said.

Her sweat fell, "but I do understand where he is coming from." Arata is most-likely overworking himself again. That guy works far too much. Then again, the reason why he does is because he is dedicated to music.

Haruka brushed his fingers across her cheeks. "But you know since he is taking so long, we should do something."

Lila laughed. "Uh, you"re h.o.r.n.y?"

"A little." Haruka admitted. "My wife, your so beautiful. What am I going to do with you?"

"I wonder, what do you want to do?" Lila countered.

Before Haruka could reply, the doors opened revealing an irritated Tok.u.mori Arata. He clearly didn"t want to open the door but he must have overheard them.

Haruka sighed. "Isn"t your timing too good?"

Arata"s eyes twitched in annoyance. "Like I could stand by and watch you two get frisky right at my front door."

"Huh, you were watching from inside? So creepy." Haruka turned to her and suddenly kissed her. "Besides, even if your here it doesn"t change anything."

"D--did he have to do that?" Lila stared at him with widened eyes. It seems like even though so many months have pa.s.sed, she still can"t adapt to his pace.

Arata sighed. "What do you two want?"

"Merry Christmas." Haruka and her said at the same time.

"What the h.e.l.l? This early in the morning, and why is it Christmas?" Arata exclaimed.

Early? It"s lunchtime. Was he sleeping? She looked at his appearance and noticed his hair and clothes were crumpled. "Ah, he must have been."

Lila laughed. "Were joking."

"It"s already lunchtime leader." Haruka commented.

"On days off, let me sleep in peace."

Lila however charges right inside at full speed. "Were the super detectives."

Haruka quickly joined as her as they looked around. From the corner of her eye Arata pulled out a packet of cigarettes.

Arata exhaled deeply. "I understand that you two are on better terms since we came here. But aren"t you far too laid back? "

Lila however only half paid attention to his words. She was searching behind the couch, when she found the box.

"Found!" Sumire exclaimed when she saw the box

"What? Is it ramen?"

The brunette shook her head as she pa.s.sed one of the crackers to Haruka; who looked at it in disbelief.

"What"s this? A bomb? "

Oh that"s right, Haruka wouldn"t know what they are. Lila forgets that

"Party crackers!"

"Huh, I see." Haruka mumbled. "I think I saw something like this before. People use it during Christmas?"

"Sometimes there are sweets inside. But most of the time there are other things too."

Haruka clearly looked interested so she opened the one that was in her hands up in the air. A small bang sound, and various items fell on to the ground.

"Huh, that"s interesting. To think so many things can come out of something this small." Haruka looked at it curiously.

Lila laughed. "A paper frown!"

Haruka placed it on her head. "There we go."

"So silly!" Lila happily clung to his arm.

"Hey you two, wait until the party! Don"t open them all."

"It sounds like you"re having a lot of fun. "

Lila glanced over at the source of the voice and spotted  silver hair. "Ah, Kiryu is here too." Lila quickly scanned the room.

"Hey leader, since they"re here it"s perfect timing isn"t it?" Kiryu said.

Arata deeply sighed. "Whenever I hear leader coming from you, I get the creeps."

Kiryu laughed.

"But he is right, it would be better to ask you two directly."

Haruka brought her over to the couch. Kiryu brought out a familiar looking disk and several sheets of paper which were attached on a clipboard.

"Oh, the meaning behind the lyrics?" Lila guessed.

Kiryu nodded. "Yeah, we tried to figure it out by ourselves since it"s extra work. But since it"s a love song you wrote.."

She supposes that"s true. But to talk about the deep meaning behind it with Haruka here doesn"t seem right. Besides what"s with Kiryu? He doesn"t understand these lyrics. "Oblivious idiot!" Lila mentally scolded.

Now that she thought about it. So many have told her that Kiryu is oblivious to her feelings. This is the first time she saw it.

Many said it wasn"t her fault; and to a certain extent she understood that now. Even so to destroy this happy and peaceful atmosphere.

Her thoughts broke off when Haruka took the sheet of paper from Kiryu.

"The first verse up until the second doesn"t explicitly show that it"s a love song. It starts off talking about dreams from childhood, how it seems to be something distant and far away. It focuses more on "memories" how the dream and road then was dark and endless. The second verse goes on talking about the beauty of dreams and how that place, is the starting point. How one day they shall return to that town together, a silent promise." Haruka explained.

At that explanation her eyes widened. Haruka. ..he got it correct. She and Kiryu discussed the lyrics after he sent them. Lila glanced over at Kiryu who also seemed surprised. It seems like Kiryu didn"t mention their discussion to Haruka. So Haruka guessed it by himself?

"Huh I see and the third finally talks about the other party. . You really thought this through Lila. Anyone can sing it, it doesn"t have to be a female focus or a male one." Arata commented.

"Ah, yes." Lila replied.

She couldn"t help but stare at her husband.

It"s just like that time with the text messages. If it"s the extent of her feelings, Haruka understands it very well. Truly, she can no longer live without this person. If it"s like that then, Lila slumped her head on his shoulders.

 "Lila?"

"Then she no longer wants to hide it." Why does she have to keep holding herself back, just because other people disapprove? She is fed up with listening to others. She wants to be honest with her heart. The person she loves is Karas.h.i.+ma Haruka.

"I"m tired." Lila mumbled.

"I see." Haruka parts her black locks and kissed her cheek lightly. "Your welcome." he mumbles quietly, so only she could hear it.
