Aker woke up the next day and followed his normal morning routine. He had found that having the gravity at 2 times normal wasn"t even noticeable any longer so he asked Vance to increase it as they walked to the foyer. After leaving his cell he met Kara at the medic station as he normally did, but this time there was a woman in her mid-thirty"s hanging around with Kara. With her long blond straight hair, she was slightly taller than an average woman. Standing there her eyes darted around constantly as if though she needed to maintain her guard. While her eyes were slightly watery and deep, they didn"t seem very innocent when staring into them. She was clearly a part of the Underground Empire, so she was probably into shady work. She had an athletic build that might even be described as a little more on the manly side even though no one could really make that statement. Her thin lips and small face made her someone the men around here would try and buy drinks for.
"Good morning Little Kara and good morning miss...." Aker greeted Kara first as was his custom. Only if teacher was around would he greet him first, other than that he always greeted Kara first.
He had turned to his patient from yesterday who had been poisoned by the snake bite. She seemed to be doing just fine today. Aker could still see how tired she was by looking around her eyes as they were now slightly black but not from the poison but from the release of stress, however, after a few days rest she would be perfectly fine.
Without missing a beat, the blond woman responded back "Good morning Doctor Little Life, I still haven"t had the opportunity to express my thanks for saving me yesterday. I don"t even want to think about my situation today if I hadn"t come to see you. Everyone told me to try and make a break for the next planet over, Theron. There is a fairly famous doctor over their but on my garbage can there is no way I would make it before I died. If I had the X2 I would have probably tried for it, but since I just have that d.a.m.ned X1 you were my last hope. I guess for the first time in my life I am actually grateful to that garbage can...ha..hahaha..."
She couldn"t help but lightly laugh at herself with that thought. Perhaps if she had the X2 instead of that garbage can she would have died, as she thought about it, she couldn"t help but laugh and slightly cringe. For almost ten years she has been struggling to try and get her hands on an X2 so she could move into the big business of smuggling goods instead of people. With an X1 there simply was no way to smuggle goods, it just took too long and no one was willing to wait until you got there with them. It wasn"t just that, a lot of goods have expiration dates and if you try and smuggle it on the garbage can then they would be as good as destroyed.
"I"m just glad we could help the miss, had you waited another day or two I"m not sure the antidote would have worked at all. Even if it did, it certainly would have been much more difficult for you to recover. As it stands you should probably stay here another day and recover under our watch as the poison from the Slavik Ghost Head isn"t recovered from that easily. It hadn"t managed to work its way all the way into your gut, but it had begun the process." Aker was telling a little fib as he spoke to this lady. The truth was if she waited another day before getting the antidote, she probably wouldn"t have survived no matter what, but he didn"t want to tell her that as it didn"t seem necessary at this juncture.
"Doctor Little Life I appreciate it, and your right, I"m still not feeling up to speed yet. I"ll take a day and rest while I keep Kara here company. In the meantime, feel free to call me Nancy. The name is Nancy Moore, my crew calls me Cap, but you can just call me by my first name."
"Cap huh? I think I like that name, is it OK if I call you that to?" Aker really did like the name Cap, it seemed easy enough to say and was a rather slick way of calling for the captain of a ship.
"Sure..sure...if you want to call me by Cap as well then feel free." Cap smiled as she spoke. Discounting the fact that Aker saved her life, even if he didn"t, she felt like she would really like this kid. He seemed straight forward and genuine which were traits that Cap exalted. Also, he did save her life, so even though she had only known Aker for a few moments she had an incredible impression of him.
After the introductions were done Aker checked her vitals again and gave a her a quick look over, feeling satisfied there were no problems Aker picked up a book and began reading while he was waiting for the day to start. At this time of day Aker had roughly 20-30 minutes before everyone showed up to do his book studies.
He was reading Magic & It"s Role in Medicine which is an advanced theoretical book on using nature particles to treat illnesses. He had been stuck on a section about using nature particles to repair organs that had been giving him a headache as he struggled to understand. Today as he read through the book it was as if though the curtain had been pulled back and everything had been displayed before him.
He was quickly able to figure out minor use of nature particles for the medical treatment of organs. As he read and comprehended its application, he was also trying to understand its practical application in minor injuries as well, for example cuts and broken bones. He couldn"t help but ponder on how amazing it would be if he could use nature particles for the injuries of the combatants in The Pit.
Aker may have been the first person to surmise the use of nature particles in this capacity as the lowest requirement for this would be control over the nature particles.
Aker"s control over nature particles was at the stage of barely noticeable and for him this was a source of frustration. By increasing his control over nature particles, he would be able to quickly advance his way through the Body Conditioning stages of magic fighter. He had now reached the point that he should be breaking through Body Conditioning Organs any time, as far as he could tell his organs were already completely saturated. It had been a slow and grinding process but each day his control over the nature particles increased minutely. While each day"s progress seemed infinitesimal the c.u.mulative increase has been remarkable.
What Aker failed to realize was that his control over nature particles at this point would be considered legendary or mythical. The mere idea that he was advancing through the stages of Body Conditioning only relying on nature particles themselves was beyond reason. That was already beyond common sense but what would drive everyone crazy is the fact that he was now able to influence any control over nature particles. It was well known that before a magic fighter had any control over nature particles, they had to be well into their Source Core and preparing for their Nature Core.
His speed of advancement despite not using any pills, potions, or herbs was outstanding as he was already to break through Body Conditioning Organs after only 8 months. It would normally take three years taking pills, potions and herbs before a magic fighter was ready to start forming their Source Core. Aker without any resources was on pace to accomplish the same growth only one year faster.

As Aker read away, Cap and Kara were chatting over by themselves. Cap being saved by Aker wanted to learn more about him and his situation.
Kara explained in detail her circ.u.mstances and how she came to know Aker. She explained to Cap all about his miraculous first battle and his unbelievable growth since that day. She didn"t hold anything back as she praised her Big Brother"s achievements not only in the arena but explained to Cap his excelling capabilities in medicine, blacksmithing and cooking.
Cap"s jaw hit the floor as she learned about Aker being both a Novice Blacksmith and Novice Cook. It was even more stunning to learn that Aker was on the verge of being an Advanced Novice as he had already reached the Peak of Novice Cook.
If Aker hadn"t saved her life, she would have found it impossible to believe it as Kara described the dozens of battles that Aker had been through. She explained that Aker fought a battle just the night before and would fight a battle later in the day, all while he performed in the medic station as the Little Life Doctor, in the blacksmith and kitchen as a genius in both areas as well.
As Cap listened to Kara speak, she could hear how much Kara looked up to Aker and how proud of her Big Brother she was. For Kara, Aker started as a life savior but had also turned into her best friend and she enjoyed being able to share with someone how amazing he truly was.
Out of everyone, Kara probably at this point spent more time with Aker than anyone and she still only got to see half of what he was doing. She wasn"t there as he fought in The Pit and did his training in his cell, so even she didn"t have a full picture of Aker"s capabilities at this point.
Vance wasn"t part of Aker"s day when he worked in the medic station, blacksmith or the kitchen, but Vance made sure to watch all of Aker"s battles and paid close attention to his practices. Each of his teacher"s kept a close eye on him while he was in their shop working but were unaware of what he was doing in the other shops.
It was doubtful that Vance even knew that Aker was both a Novice Blacksmith and Novice Cook at this point. As Aker didn"t understand the value of being at the Novice rank at his age since he had no comparisons, he never said anything about it. Vance would have never guessed that Aker was already a Novice in both blacksmithing and cooking, so he never bothered to ask the question. Common sense dictated that Aker was years away from being at the Novice level.
The only one who had a real understanding of Aker, his capabilities and his advancement was Aker, however as he had no measuring stick to compare against, he just continued on. He continued on looking up to his Senior Brother Fenton who he was still excited to learn from. He continued on swinging his hammer disappointed in his low hit percentage that was only at thirty. He continued on experimenting with his cooking and trying different ideas as he had no idea of the common sense of this world and what he should and shouldn"t be doing when in the kitchen.
In reality Aker had no common sense of the world he was in. As he practiced his manipulation of the nature particles each night Aker was disappointed in his progress with no understanding that if word was to get out about all of his achievements, it would shake this part of the universe.
