Chapter 226: Maybe Blow Up Mount Dadong?
Cheng Dongfeng firmly pinched himself again then, and upon feeling the pain on his thigh, he was finally sure that he was not dreaming.
Even so...
Why did everything before his eyes feel even more unreal compared to a dream?
A dog talking even though it was not a Feral King?
Fair enough.
He could accept that the dog could speak since dogs had always been intelligent creatures—it was nothing too surprising that they were capable of speech after mutating.
“Hold on...”
Cheng Dongfeng abruptly came to his senses and gaped at Jiang He, “That... is the Golden-Winged Roc?”
“Yeah.”
Jiang He nodded, cutting another chunk of meat and pa.s.sing it to Cheng Dongfeng with a smile. “Have a taste. Its flesh is not bad—very chewy.”
“Is that really the Golden-Winged Roc? The one on Bukadaban Peak?”
“Is there another Golden-Winged Roc on Earth?” Jiang He replied.
With that, Cheng Dongfeng’s body started shaking and he stuttered with an exceedingly hoa.r.s.e voice, as if he doubted himself. “That Golden-Winged Roc, which is one of two Feral Emperors of the Hua Nation?”
Jiang He could not help reaching out to touch Cheng Dongfeng’s forehead, exclaiming in surprise, “You’re not having a fever... so what’s with all the problems today? Well, let me put it to you this way—didn’t I accidentally killed the Violet-Crowned Golden Eagle and the Golden-Crowned Black Eagle when we headed to the Diamond Sect of the Western Frontier?”
Cheng Dongfeng nodded stiffly, but then muttered uncertainly, “Accidentally?”
‘Killed, accidentally?
‘Why did I hear that you deliberately ran some eight hundred miles up to Mount Tian to kill them?
‘Naturally, it does not matter if that was an accident.
‘What mattered here was what you killing the Violet-Crowned Golden Eagle and the Golden-Crowned Black Eagle has to do with the Golden-Winged Roc?’
“You don’t get it, do you?”
“The Violet-Crowned Golden Eagle and the Golden-Crowned Black Eagle are the Golden-Winged Roc’s mistresses, and of course the Golden-Winged Roc wouldn’t be pleased that I killed them... and since it’s displeased, it would definitely bother me. So, instead of waiting to be bothered, I rooted out the problem entirely, which is why I went on the attack, and went up Bukadaban Peak to kill the Golden-Winged Roc.”
Cheng Dongfeng: “...”
He turned silent.
He felt rather speechless at that.
“Oh, right, grandson, what’s your business with me?”
Jiang He chopped off a huge chunk of the Golden-Winged Roc meat before packing the rest into his System Backpack. He moved to the mansion, cutting the chunk of meat and filleted it for the Seven Bottle Gourd Brothers, Sora, Dumbo, and Trumbo, and then put more platefuls on the dining table.
Cheng Dongfeng’s stirred mood finally calmed considerably then.
When he saw the Golden-Winged Roc meat on the plate, every shocked and troubled thought faded away. Picking one and having a taste, enjoyment filled his face and he could not help exclaiming, “So delicious!”
And was it just delicious?
Once the meat reached his stomach, Cheng Dongfeng instantly felt a fiery-hot presence surging in his belly.
After all, how abundant was the qi and blood contained in the flesh of a Feral Emperor?
After just eight mouthfuls, Cheng Dongfeng’s face twitched as he muttered to himself in alarm, promptly sitting down and crossing his legs in cultivation.
He was already rank-seven pinnacle after the trip to the Diamond Sect and just one step away from rank-eight. And now, these mouthfuls of Golden-Winged Roc meat helped him bridge the gap, kicking down the door to rank-eight.
Boom!
With a quaking of aura, he reached rank-eight.
He only opened his eyes after several seconds to look at Jiang He, when he found Jiang He pouring rank-nine Origin Fluid, filling a disposable paper cup halfway while grinning. “Your cultivation would be unstable after recently ascending. Here, this is Origin Fluid from Mount Helan’s willow tree, which improves cultivation, rejuvenates qi, blood, and True Qi.”
Cheng Dongfeng accepted the paper cup with shaking hands as he finished the whole cup of Origin Fluid at one go, almost licking the cup as well. Feeling earnest grat.i.tude, he exclaimed, “Thank you, Grand-master Jiang He!”
“It’s just one cup of Origin Fluid. Why thank me?”
With a wave of his hand, Jiang He promptly took out five bottles of Origin Fluid.
Cheng Dongfeng’s eyes lit up at once, and his whole body started to shake....
Five bottles...
Five mineral water bottles!
Could Jiang He had been so pleased with him being addressed as ‘Grand-master Jiang He’ that he would reward Cheng Dongfeng?
And yet...
“Sora, share this Origin Fluid with Dumbo and the others.”
Cheng Dongfeng: “...”
All at once, the cup of Origin Fluid he had just drunk was not that delicious now.
‘What the h.e.l.l!
‘What are you doing?
‘Feeding bearlike brats and dogs with something so precious? Isn’t this too luxurious?
‘Come to think of it, where did these seven bearlike children come from?
‘And they were apparently calling Jiang He ‘gramps’ just now...
‘How did he get seven grandchildren at his young age?’
Despite the thousands of questions in his head, it did not bother Cheng Dongfeng with feasting on Golden-Winged Roc meat. Anything else could wait.
Indeed, after finishing an entire plate of Golden-Winged Roc meat, he could feel his cultivation and qi improving considerably.
“If I could freeload meals out of Jiang He’s house every day, I would be rank-nine in less than three months. No wonder he said that the Womb Realm was so dull and boring if I were this bleeding rich too!”
Cheng Dongfeng then burped in satisfaction and pleasure... there was little wonder why the higher-ups suddenly issued those orders now. In half a month, Jiang He had killed four Feral Kings in the Black King Drake, the Red Toad King, the Violet-Crowned Golden Eagle, and the Golden-Crowned Black Eagle, as well as one Feral Emperor in the Golden-Winged Roc. As such, the Ferals would certainly be in an uproar and start a major uprising.
Cheng Dongfeng could not help turning solemn at that thought and said, “Grand-master, I have news that the higher-ups would soon order the withdrawal of the garrison and divine-tier elite from Yuzhen, and station you there instead.”
On the other hand, Jiang He was slowly eating his own portion of Golden-Winged Roc meat.
Stuffing a piece into his mouth and chewing slowly before having a sip of rank-nine Origin Fluid, he chuckled. “Minister w.a.n.g himself told me about that... how long has it merely been, and they issued the orders already?”
“Yeah.”
“Since it’s a joint command between Minister w.a.n.g and Commander Li, it probably means the whole country would be up in arms.”
Musing to himself for a while to search for the right words, Cheng Dongfeng then said, “Jiang He, the reason I actually came is to ask you... what do you think about watching over Mount Dadong?”
He did not dare to say it directly.
How could he?
If he said, ‘Jiang He, just watch over Mount Dadong and don’t cause trouble every single day’, Jiang He would probably make him puke out the Golden-Winged Roc meat and rank-nine Origin Fluid he just had with a backhand slap.
Meanwhile, Jiang He smiled confidently in response to Cheng Dongfeng’s question, laughing, “Don’t worry, I’ve already got a plan for this. No one needs to worry.”
“What plan?”
Cheng Dongfeng’s eyes lit up. After all, everything would be cool wherever Jiang He would place his sheer strength—as long as he did not start trouble.
“I can’t say.”
Jiang He finished his plate of Golden-Winged Roc meat. After taking out an S-grade alloy toothpick to clean his teeth and having a sip of rank-nine Origin Fluid, he then said, “The plan I’ve prepared this time is very dependable to prevent that vermin the Graywolf King, along with the many Ferals plaguing Xibei... Yeah, everyone would learn what my plan was probably by tomorrow.
That mysterious?
Cheng Dongfeng’s head was filled with curiosity up until he got in his car and left.
Jiang He...
Actually said that he has a dependable plan?
Cheng Dongfeng could not help chuckling even as he continued driving the off-road vehicle.
“If Jiang He said that it was settled, what was there to worry about?”
“As for trouble... What trouble could he cause? Blow up Mount Dadong?”
