Tier 1 nan.o.botDescription: upgraded version of default nan.o.bot that is able to upgrade and repair host with greater efficiency.
Staring at it with a lost expression I look around hoping for more info from the sweet sounding voice that keeps calling me her little brother.
"Keep going I"ll explain it all at the end and I can"t wait to see what else you got."
Shrugging I opened up the next blue box and got a card that read Companion nan.o.bot with its description saying I can use it to link a creature to myself and it will allow me to understand and control it better. The final blue box gave me a card that read small energy pack with its description basically saying it will give me ten thousand units of energy. Confused on how helpful that is I put it aside and went for the last box.
This box wasn"t blue but a bright red and I could feel it giving off a small amount of energy unlike the three blue boxes. Hoping that whatever was in this box was extra special I took off the lid and grabbed the card inside it. Reading the card t.i.tle saying bloodline fusion I turned it over to read it"s description on the back.
Bloodline fusion
Description: Allow user to fuse a bloodline from a different creature into the host"s body or the host companion"s body.
"Yes that"s a good one you got pretty lucky with your prizes little brother. I"m so glad you aren"t a loser. I might even get to rank up to tier 5 before you die. Hehe."
Lost I stare at the four cards and ask what their use is.
"Simple just like you started off with a thousand EVO points everyone only gets so many nan.o.bots to start off as well. This makes everyones start somewhat the same. Everything on you planet including animals, plants, and humans only start off with a thousand active nan.o.bots. How you proceed from there is the individual"s choice."
Taking a breath to let that sink in I wait patiently for her to continue.
"Those prizes will help out a lot because while all the overlords get different prizes based on chance but you have to remember that only a tenth of the world had that option and most overlords usually die to the group. Your lucky your group was weak and the two bigger ones pretty much killed themselves."
"So what"s the difference between a tier 1 nan.o.bot and the ones everyone starts with?"
"Let me get there, that involves the evo system that we created that sorts life forms into tier 0 which everyone except a select few on your world are all the way to tier 10 which would be pretty much G.o.ds to your people. You know about the eleven systems of the body right, well even if you don"t let me finish. Using the left over radiation your planet has started to produce a unique energy with the help of my people of course. This energy is used to upgrade your eleven systems and as you rise in tiers you can even precisely manage each system. Now tier 1 nan.o.bots are twice as efficient as tier 0 and while it takes ten five tier 0 nan.o.bots to make a new one in an hour it only takes four tier 1 nan.o.bots to make a new one each hour so there ability to multiply is increased by 20 percent."
Starting to understand how great this thing was I started to get a little more excited about the future.
"Don"t forget that Companion nan.o.bot either you have that pretty little snake right. She can be your first Companion. Once she evolves a little I"m sure she can be a big help in the future."
Nodding to myself think what she was saying finally started to make some sense then I grabbed the card that was t.i.tled small energy pack and asked how useful it was.
"Very with it you can speed up your evolution a little faster compared to others. Your body with naturally absorbs energy but in the beginning it will be a very small amount and you might have less energy than you need to keep evolving. Of course as you upgrade your integumentary system your skin will absorb more energy in the surrounding air, or your digestive system to raise the efficiency of absorbing energy from your food such as meat or plants that are mutated from the energy."
Finally most of my questions were answered to the point where I could start connecting the dots right as I was about to ask something else she interrupted me.
"Well that"s all the time we have but don"t worry every time you sleep we can talk some more and I can contact you by giving you tasks that will let you collect rewards. Don"t spend any EVO points yet we can talk more about how to use the system shop tonight. Try not to die little brother see you soon, he he."
At that point the sadly familiar feeling of pa.s.sing out came over me again and my world went dark for the hopefully the last time that day.
Opening my eyes I see a familiar wall followed by my room. Realising I"m on the floor I start to rise up and look around. Walking to the window everything seems somewhat normal until I look towards the sky and instead of the clear blue one I wake up to every morning I see a bright purple sky with light blue clouds confirming everything wasn"t just a dream.
Sighing I started to get dress putting on some jeans and a faded black spider shirt. As I finished a pain started to flare up in my head. At first it was a small headache but it quickly became worse until I was kneeling on the ground gritting my teeth trying to not shout my pain.
In the background I could hear others screaming and crying. Some were begging for death, while others were cursing tell they were out of breath left only with the pain.
It lasted only sixty seconds but felt like days. As I sat there on my knees catching my breather a screen was projected in front of me.
EVO SYSTEM activation complete accessing hosts information. Scanning complete creating stats and gathering information. Task complete.
A series of lines keep flashing past on the screen until finally it calmed down. After another minute of waiting another notification flashed.
Welcome to the EVO SYSTEM host, your information and data has been scanned and confirmed so you can access your stats in the player screen. We recommend you also look at the tips and hints screen for further information about your new system.
Welcome to EVO WARS a real time survival game where you and everything else on the planet will compete to prove that survival of the fittest is the truest path. Your world will be giving a ten day period to get comfortable with the system and train your selves as much as possible. After ten days EVO WARS will begin transporting other species to your planet. Some will be recognised as monster or different races from your mythologies while others will be completely new to your people"s knowledge. In five minutes the system will give out three world wide tasks that if completed could allow you to gain an edge before the game truly begins. Welcome and may you always entertain.
After reading I open my character page to see what it looked like.

Thinking for a second I figured I could create two hundred tier 0 nan.o.bots per hour at the cost of two thousand energy. I could also create twenty-five tier 1 nan.o.bots per hour but that would cost me two thousand five hundred energy.
I went to the tips and help page for some more info before doing anything else and say that the integumentary system is what determines the absorption rate of energy through my skin with 1% equaling 5 energy. After some math I decided to have all my tier 0 nan.o.bots create new ones while I had the tier 1 nan.o.bots improve my integumentary system.
After putting the nan.o.bots to work I could almost feel energy moving around in my body like a warmth. My skin started to feel warm and my hair started to tingle, figuring it was a side effect from upgraded that system I could only ignore it for now.
Looking over to my snake tank I stared at Frost and she seemed to be staring back. After going through the tips and saw the instructions to use the companion nan.o.bots I just gather them in the tip of my finger and made a small cut with the pocket knife from my desk. I went over to Frost and she seemed to understand what I was doing and tried to hide in her hollow log. Reaching in I grab her just behind the head. She tried to get me to let go by wrapping around my arm but she didn"t have enough strength and had to watch while I dropped a few drops of blood into her mouth.
There is a chance of it not working but with Frost being just a baby and not having enough control over her own nan.o.bots to fight back I was able to officially take her as my companion.
She looked at me with almost a pouting look that seemed surprisingly intelligent. I just smiled and tried to comfort her by patting her head and letting her rest on my shoulders. Now that she was my companion we had a type of bond that we could use for simple communication.
After everything that happened I was exhausted. Between the fights to the death and the overwhelming changes happening I was mentally tired. Just as I was considering going back to bed I heard a loud shout coming from downstairs.
"Family meeting in the living room. NOW!"
recognising my big brother"s voice I sighed which I felt like I was doing a lot of today. Rubbing Frost"s head which she seemed to enjoy I started to make my way down.
I lived on the second floor and outside of my room was a hallway with two other doors besides mine. The one right across was the upstairs bathroom and the other was the gaming room with all our systems and computers taking up half the second floor.
Going past it I felt bad thinking about how none of the electronics would work anymore and just shook my head while I made my way downstairs.
