Chapter 530: Guard Lieutenant
“Don’t move!” On top of Emperor Suite number two, before the guards descended upon the scene of the incident, the angry-looking NPC hotel security guards aimed their submachine guns at Feng Luo, Phoenix, and Big Pineapple who were inside the battered room.
“We are special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. These people are all adventurers from the Rebel Army.” Feng Luo’s group did not panic. They only raised their heads and showed the security guards their special agent badges on their chests.
At the moment, all three of their HPs were at critical levels. It was impossible for them to fight head-on against the fully-equipped NPCs. As such, they simply showed their badges.
The special agent badge could be considered “Killing licenses” which allowed them to kill people inside the city.
Even if these NPC did not recognize the special agent badge, they would still know the Staff Sergeant military rank on the badge, so they would not dare pull the trigger easily.
“Federal agents?” It was like the three of them expected, the NPC hotel security guards who looked very angry paused as they heard Feng Luo’s statement, became suspicious and hesitant.
“Special Agent? I think I’ve heard this mentioned somewhere before.” As for the higher-up players of Storm City who were simply there as onlookers seemed astounded by the situation.
One among them fell into deep thought. “Ah! They are the hidden profession special agents.”
Zi Wei’s eyes glowed as she stood among the crowd.
…
“Special agents. I seem to recall seeing it before somewhere.”
“I remember now. Back when September Night Rain dropped his item, wasn’t that mission the special agent profession change mission? The special agent is a hidden profession!”
“Are these three among the five who pa.s.sed the special agent examination? Three hidden profession players?”
Most of the players were guild members. Many of them knew the incident related to September Night Rain, so they also thought of that incident.
By then, there were actually quite a number of hidden professions in the game. Although such professions were not necessarily stronger than normal professions, most players still yearned for a hidden profession.
Even though most of the onlooking players were already considered elites of the game, not many of them had hidden professions.
“Also, the badge on their chest… It looks like a military rank symbol, right?”
Some of the players noticed the Staff Sergeant military rank symbol showing on the three’s special agent badge.
“It’s true. From the pattern, it looks like a… Staff Sergeant military rank?”
“Staff Sergeant? No way. Someone actually got their merits up to the Staff Sergeant rank already? Moreover, there are three of them? Our guild doesn’t even have one Staff Sergeant. The highest is just a Sergeant.” A player from a minor guild said.
“A Staff Sergeant military rank isn’t too crazy. After the War storyline began, merit farming became a lot easier. But for three Staff Sergeants to be around, not to mention you guys, even our guild doesn’t have that many.” A player who was one of the higher-ups of a top ten guild replied, his expression was also a contemplative one.
“Hidden profession special agents, and he just said that those who were killed were all Rebel Army players. Could this be a mission?” It wasn’t just one person who thought like this. They focused their gaze on Feng Luo’s group.
“What’s wrong with you guys? Weren’t you told to minimize panic? What’s with all this commotion right now? How are we supposed to clean it up now?” As the patrol s.p.a.cecraft in the air descended to Emperor Suite number two’s floor, over a dozen NPC guard members got off and entered the building.
Among them was a young NPC guard who had the Staff Sergeant military rank. After he got off the s.p.a.cecraft, he spoke in an annoyed tone and expression.
“The enemy used an energy bomb. It seemed like they intentionally wanted to create chaos.” Feng Luo frowned and answered.
“Energy bomb? Doesn’t your special agent department have amazing tech? Is it possible that you weren’t able to discover that they had brought an energy bomb in advance?” The young guard continued saying with a very annoyed and dissatisfied expression.
Haruko had already notified the Storm City guard team about the mission and had the guards wait in the sky above the hotel so that they could deal with the aftermath easier.
However, from the NPC’s att.i.tude, it was quite certain that the relations.h.i.+p between the guards and the special agent departments could be improved.
It was understandable. After all, it was quite normal for the guards to be dissatisfied with a department such as the FBI that often intervened in police affairs.
However, the three of them were players, so they would not easily become victims of the NPC’s dissatisfaction and anger.
Particularly, with the explosion and Onis.h.i.+’s death, as well as the large commotion caused, their ultimate mission evaluation and points awarded may be significantly affected. So, the three of them may not be in a good mood.
“The military-issued micro energy bombs should not be accessible by normal means. Why didn’t your guard team detect them when they were entering the city?” Phoenix asked with a cold stare while holding her alloy sword.
“Wow. The special agent department actually has a woman. You guys are really…” The young NPC guard continued to go on and on…
“Messi, stop talking. No one wants to see something like this happen. Have someone over to take care of these corpses. Also, seal all information and eliminate any possible influence. Avoid panic.” Another NPC who had a Lieutenant military rank on his chest called out to him. From the military rank, it seemed like he was the guard team’s leader.
“You guys are injured. Do you need my men to send you to the hospital?” After stopping the young guard from speaking further, the guard team’s Lieutenant looked at Feng Luo’s group and asked.
The guard team’s Second Lieutenant was a Caucasian with Asian features. He was 180cm tall and wore a full set of guard team combat gear. His brownish, neat and slightly loose hair that reached his ears was paired with a pair of br.i.m.m.i.n.g eyes.
In short, he was a handsome NPC with mixed-blood features.
“There’s no need for me.” Facing the Lieutenant who had a better att.i.tude, Feng Luo no longer had any reason to show a stink face and shook his head.
He had the Self-healing Force, as long as he did not have broken limbs, there was no need for him to seek treatment at a hospital.
“We’re also fine.” Big Pineapple and Phoenix shook their heads. Earlier, though Phoenix slammed into the wall heavily, she became fine after her HP recovered a little since a player’s body does not get injured easily.
“Yeah… Right, hurry up and send someone. Regardless, the mission is foiled… We need you guys now to… Hurry…” On the weaponized patrol s.p.a.cecraft, the young guard member Staff Sergeant was speaking to the support team.
“Beep, beep, beep…”
While he was speaking, the weaponized patrol s.p.a.cecraft’s warning suddenly rang. The floating screen showed also a flas.h.i.+ng red dot.
The young guard NPC grimaced as he stared at Feng Luo’s group before saying, “d.a.m.n it, another incident occurred. Hurricane Building. Is it your people again?”
“Hurricane Building? d.a.m.n it, sir Lieutenant, I’ll have to trouble you to take us there immediately.” Feng Luo raised his head to look at the NPC Second Lieutenant, his face somewhat anxious, as Lin’s lab was on top of the Hurricane Building.
