With abject terror on their faces, the disciples of the Heavenly Moon Sect watched as the young girl they believed had come to join their Sect defeated their Sect Master in a single exchange. They didn"t even have time to process what was happening before they watched the girls energy morph into a wolf"s maw that closed around Tian Gengxin. Strangely, even though the maw was transparent, the moment it closed down around the Sect Master, it was as though his body was broken down and disintegrated in an instant. There wasn"t even a single drop of blood or any sign that he had even been standing in the air previously...Though she didn"t understand what happened at first, Fenrir felt an influx of foreign energy flow into her body. Realizing what had she had done, a sudden urge to empty the contents of her perpetually empty stomach rose up within her. However, it was the urge to cry that won out and, without staying in the area for a moment longer, Fenrir used [Koku Shundo] and began tearing through the sky. She noticed that the energy around her body actually devoured the energies in the atmosphere at an incredible rate, allowing her to cut through the sky without any of the pressure she had experienced previously. However, discoveries like this didn"t matter at the moment as Fenrir was currently overwhelmed by overwhelmingly heartwrenching anguish in her chest...
It wasn"t until she barreled into the side of another mountain, the energy around her body instantly boring through the snow and stone, that Fenrir stopped her momentum. Looking around, she could see that everything touched by her aura was broken down and processed by her body as energy, causing her anxious mind to race. She wanted nothing more than to just lay down and release the anguish in her heart but any attempt to even get near the ground just caused a larger hole to form. Thus, though there were tears pouring down her face, Fenrir tried to calm down and meditate while hovering in the air. She knew that a calm mind was necessary to control the devouring energy that had surrounded her body and, even though it seemed impossible at the present moment, Fenrir did her best to focus on her meditation technique...
Unaware of the pa.s.sage of time, nearly a month had pa.s.sed in the outside world as Fenrir continued to hover in the center of the cave she had formed. The devouring energy, which was midnight blue on the edges but pristine white in the center, had shrunk from its original 3m radius and was now only a thin membrane that flowed around her body. Thin strands would rise from the aura, giving it a flame-like quality and, everywhere the strands pa.s.sed, all of the ambient energy in the environment would be devoured. Then, finally achieving a calm mental state, Fenrir"s closed eyes opened to reveal her previously scarlet eyes now glowed with an icy bluish-white light.
Over the duration of her meditation, Fenrir realized that, for better or worse, her body had actually changed a great deal, something she was able to discern from introspective observation. The vortex of energy within her stomach had now formed into a stable sphere with small cracks located on its surface. From those cracks, the same energy that was coating her body flowed out, manifesting itself externally as the same devouring ability she had always possessed. This had greatly increased her combat potential but, at the same time, Fenrir was even more heartbroken than she had been after killing that arrogant man, even if her face gave her an appearance of absolute calm...
As she had returned to her "normal" appearance during her meditation, Fenrir used her claw and, even though her body was naturally immune to her natural severing ability, it was still possible to damage herself if she intended to. Thus, a thin line of blood appeared across one of her paw pads and Fenrir allowed it to drip towards the ground, carrying with it the same devouring energy around her body. It collided with the ground and began to eat through it like a powerful and unstoppable acid that seemed to continue eating further into the earth without cessation. It wasn"t until it had gone nearly 30km that the energy surrounding the drops of blood finally burned out...
This wasn"t the most important thing, however, as Fenrir absentmindedly stared at her hand and watched as it naturally healed with the pa.s.sage of time. Though her regeneration had always been extreme, this process was fundamentally different than what Fenrir had experienced in the past. Previously, it was like her body was "reverting" back to its default form...now, after experiencing the "change" in her core, Fenrir knew she had finally increased the Tier of her soul. She no longer had an ageless body, cursed to never enjoy the touch of her Master in the capacity of a woman...if this had happened in the past, Fenrir would have been incredibly happy...now...she just felt a heartbreak that rivaled the loneliness she had experienced within Eva"s...o...b..so long ago...
