Chapter 2448 - 2448 Wronged!
2448 Wronged!
The G.o.ddess of Mercy said this out of anger, and her tone was extremely overbearing.
The other members of the Freedom Federation’s royalty were very familiar with the G.o.ddess of Mercy’s sharp glare. This was how she truly looked! It was a completely different sight from her previous timid display.
The G.o.ddess of Mercy’s reaction caused even the Mirror G.o.d and G.o.d of Fools, who had been suspecting her, to rea.s.sess their judgment. Could it be that her non-responsiveness had really been because she recognized that the Freedom Federation was in danger and wanted to ensure that the Freedom Federation did not burn all their bridges? If that was the case, then both of them had wronged her.
The G.o.ddess of Mercy’s current actions were fuelled by the knowledge that she had support. As such, she could act out and vent as much as she wanted.
She had not expected her actions to move the Mirror G.o.d and G.o.d of Fools’ suspicion off of her.
Since the situation had evolved to such a state, the G.o.ddess of Mercy decided to stay here a while longer.
Given the Mirror G.o.d and G.o.d of Fools’ personalities, they would surely seek her out to speak with her.
Once they came to speak to her, all she needed to do was act as though she was angry at being wronged. This should allow her to obtain some benefits from them.
Now that the Freedom Federation had made another powerful enemy out of the marsh world, the Mirror G.o.d and G.o.d of Fools would need to rely on her strength. Thus, they would continue to tolerate her.
Besides gleaning information from them, the G.o.ddess of Mercy also wanted to find out more about Tower Canon.
Tower Canon had been acting too mysteriously lately. All the Eight Pages were powerful elites, but they had been swapped out too often recently. It was as though there was an invisible hand controlling them.
If the G.o.ddess of Mercy had detected that something was fishy, the Mirror G.o.d and G.o.d of Fools would definitely have sensed that something was off as well.
Given the way that the G.o.d of Fools and Mirror G.o.d’s minds worked, they would definitely be extremely bothered by this matter.
Since that was the case, she would make use of the conflict with Tower Canon to remove this pain in the G.o.d of Fools and Mirror G.o.d’s necks.
The G.o.ddess of Mercy was not afraid of testing Tower Canon’s limits and causing them to become unwilling to continue helping the Freedom Federation. After all, once she left with the two spirit fire experts sent by the Radiance Federation, she would no longer have anything to do with the Freedom Federation.
With this thought, the G.o.ddess of Mercy fixed her gaze on Sixth Page Parting Thorn, who had the least imposing presence.
“Why has Tower Canon’s Sixth Page been changing so frequently? Sixth Page Las.h.i.+ng and Second Page Revival went to the Radiance Federation to try and unlock the Black Ma.s.s Cup during the key juncture of the Radiance Hundred Sequence selection. You even contacted Li Yang and asked him to lead a team to the Radiance Hundred Sequence selection’s location so he could find out more about Star Web.
“But in the end, Second Page Revival did not appear, and Sixth Page Las.h.i.+ng was swapped out for Sixth Page Inverse Growth. But Sixth Page Inverse Growth did not hold the position for too long before it became Sixth Page Parting Thorn.
“Do you know who picks Tower Canon’s Eight Pages? The Freedom Federation and Tower Canon have always maintained a working relations.h.i.+p. In order to ensure that our partners.h.i.+p is well-maintained, I would like to request an explanation from Tower Canon!”
While she was speaking, the G.o.ddess of Mercy observed the Mirror G.o.d and G.o.d of Fools’ expressions, as well as the expressions of the other members of Tower Canon.
The Mirror G.o.d and G.o.d of Fools looked questioningly at Sixth Page Parting Thorn, meaning that they were also curious to find out the answer.
They would have stopped her long ago if they had not wanted her to question this matter for fear that it would affect their relations.h.i.+p with Tower Canon.
Apart from Sixth Page Parting Thorn, all the other members of Tower Canon had extremely awkward expressions. This meant that they were not completely sure of everything either.
If that were the case, then things would be much more interesting.
The G.o.ddess of Mercy actually wanted to ask about what the Sleeper’s Revival plan entailed.
If she straightforwardly asked the question, the G.o.d of Fools and Mirror G.o.d would stop her even before the members of Tower Canon did so. After all, Tower Canon had been preparing for the Sleeper’s Revival plan for a century and was the core of all their actions.
Thus, the G.o.ddess of Mercy decided to start small and slowly move the topic toward the Sleeper’s Revival.
However, her first step had already hit Tower Canon’s main sore spot.
The G.o.ddess of Mercy decided to stop for now.
She had opened the table of conversation for the members of Tower Canon. If they had any questions, the other four members of Tower Canon could also use this opportunity to voice them.
The G.o.ddess of Mercy did not know that the conflict within Tower Canon had appeared even before they arrived at the Freedom Federation. It was only that they had not had the chance to continue the conversation.
But now that the topic had been reintroduced, Seventh Page War could not hold back her queries and took aim at Sixth Page Parting Thorn.
Seventh Page War clearly remembered how Sixth Page Parting Thorn had changed the topic. He had said, “First Page Crimson was the one who picked me. I am now officially the Sixth Page of Tower Canon. Is there a need for me to introduce myself? We will eventually get to know each other and learn how to get along after time pa.s.ses. If you have any doubts about my ident.i.ty, you can take your questions up with First Page Crimson!”
Sixth Page Parting Thorn had used First Page Crimson to silence the rest.
First Page Crimson had exhibited great power, and no one had more experience being targeted by him than Seventh Page War.
Nonetheless, First Page Crimson’s strength could not justify his background.
First Page Fate had been a veteran of Tower Canon and managed all of Tower Canon’s affairs. He always stepped in when conflict broke out between Seventh Page War and Second Page Revival.
The Tower Canon of that time made Seventh Page War feel like a true dictator.
Later, First Page Fate was killed by Purple Love of the Heavenly Family Cottage. First Page Crimson appeared before they had a chance to hold a meeting about this matter.
It seemed as though no one besides Second Page Revival had been previously acquainted with First Page Crimson. The circ.u.mstances were undoubtedly strange.
Tower Canon began changing from that moment on.
No one knew where First Page Crimson came from. Sixth Page Parting Thorn had managed to silence everyone because they were headed to the Freedom Federation and were focused on helping the Freedom Federation to gain more benefits.
Now that they had signed an agreement with the Freedom Federation, the matter could be reintroduced. Sixth Page Parting Thorn would not be able to put a stop to the topic even if he brought up First Page Crimson again.
“Sixth Page Parting Thorn, all of us also want to know the answer. You only have two choices now. First, tell us how First Page Crimson picked you. Or, we’ll leave you here so you can be the bait to lure First Page Crimson here, and we’ll ask him ourselves. He had not partic.i.p.ated in the past few meetings with the Eight Pages. Despite his absence, he still managed to recruit you. This sure is interesting!”
Seventh Page War did not like ambiguity and preferred for everything to be clear.
Third Page Eternal Sin, Fourth Page Instant Extinguishment, and Eight Page Apoptosis all frowned when they heard what Seventh Page War said.
Seventh Page War had asked the question that all of them wanted to know the answer to. However, she had come on far too strongly.
