Chapter 609: The Shop Owner (1)
For a moment, Zhao Yifei’s mind went blank. He looked at the ceiling in daze, and it took him a long time before he recalled what had happened at that time when he met with the car accident.
He remembered driving a car and rus.h.i.+ng to the company. Everything was going swimmingly until… When he drove the car to the ma.s.sive bridge and went downhill, Zhao Yifei habitually stepped on the car brakes. It was only then that he realized his car brake had failed!
Zhao Yifei was stunned. Fortunately, he had common sense. He immediately reacted to it and was aware that someone had done something to his car. Just when he felt like a deer in headlights, a heavy vehicle abruptly drove toward his car.
Zhao Yifei instinctively turned his steering wheel to avoid the truck, and he was successful. As a result, his car had inevitably hit the bridge pier.
The huge impact had caused Zhao Yifei’s mind to turn blank. Blood dripped along his forehead and into his eyes, causing his eyes to turn red.
As such, everything that came into his sight had turned red. He also felt a heavy pressure on his limbs. However, Zhao Yifei had a strong survival hope and clung to the last vestiges of sanity.
While his body ached, he heard a mingling of the crackling sound of the burning, the sound of gasoline dripping outside, and the sound of the waves beneath the bridge. Zhao Yifei was clearly aware of how bad his situation was.
He struggled hard to get his stiff body out of the car by crawling. He struggled to unbuckle the seat belt and later he encountered a very serious issue. His right leg was stuck inside the car and could not be pulled out. He could not crawl out of the car on his own.
Zhao Yifei was hopeless. His trapped body lay inside the car, waiting to die. Just then, a police officer who had learned of his car accident quickly rushed to the front of the car. They asked him about his situation while trying hard to pull him out.
The moment Zhao Yifei was pulled out of the car, he felt his entire right leg being numb, so much so that he was not sure if it was his leg at all.
The most dramatic moment was when, the next second after he was pulled out of the burning car, a loud bang was heard… The car blew up!
The moment the heatwave came to him, Zhao Yifei fell completely comatose. He had not awoken until now.
One second… It was only a one-second difference. If the officer had waited even one second longer to save him or pull him out of the car, he would have turned into a ghost and would be dwelling in h.e.l.l. He would no longer have the chance to admire the world as he was now!
Zhao Yifei stretched out his hand and covered his eyes. Without knowing if it was out of relief or lingering fear, the corners of his lips gradually curved upward. In the end, he let out a bark of laughter. However, his laughter sounded… terrifying.
“G.o.d spared my life! G.o.d spared my life! Zhao Youlin, you b.i.t.c.h! You must have never thought that I’d still be able to survive, right? Hahaha! Hahaha!” His hysterical laughter echoed inside the ward. There was a trace of bone-chilling craziness in his laughter.
Just then, a cold sneer rose from outside the door. “You even thought that Zhao Youlin was the main culprit in this incident, huh? Moron!”
“Who are you?” The smile on Zhao Yifei’s face faded. He narrowed his eyes dangerously as he stared at the ward entrance.
A clicking sound was heard. The ward door was slowly opened from outside. The next moment, Zhao Yifei was greeted by a black-clad figure.
The person who entered through the door wore an all-black sports attire. The hood was lifted up and covered most of his face. As such, it was difficult to see the person’s features clearly.
The person flashed into the ward before he closed the door once again. He even locked it.
Zhao Yifei’s hackles raised the moment he saw the person’s action. He stared warily at him and asked coldly, “Who… Who are you? What are you… doing here?”
Sun Fengzi and Zhao Shunchang had left. Zhao Yifei was heavily wounded. He lay on the sickbed and could not move. If the person had any ill intentions against him, he certainly had no strength to fight back, and could only let the person slaughter him.
At that moment, Zhao Yifei regretted screaming at Sun Fengzi and Zhao Shunchang, asking them to leave!
The person did not answer him. He paused before he slowly turned around and faced Zhao Yifei. The next moment, he reached out and gradually put down his hood.
When Zhao Yifei saw the face behind the hood, his expression changed. He subconsciously shouted, “It’s you!”
Zhao Yifei’s incident could not possibly be settled that fast. Furthermore, Zhao Youlin also could not possibly spend all her effort on him.
During her first dating Mu Tingfeng, he had suggested that Zhao Youlin expand her outlet. As such, Zhao Youlin had requested An Qi to take note of the two outlets next to her dessert outlet, or other nearby outlets.
That day, An Yue had talked to her about this. However, ever since then, Zhao Youlin had forgotten about this issue because she was very busy with the company’s affairs.
After she came back from accompanying An Yue for her maternity check-up, An Qi brought the issue up once more. This time, Zhao Youlin took note of it in her heart. The next afternoon, she made an appointment with the boss who was preparing to rent out his shop.
Zhao Youlin initially planned to rent an outlet next to hers so that she could combine the two outlets into one. It did not matter if the second outlet was located on the left or right side of hers.
And in order to materialize her ideal situation, the owners of the shops located on the left or right of her dessert outlet must have had the thought to rent out their outlets at that moment as well. Zhao Youlin had originally planned to wait for at least one year before the shops would be rented out. Little did she know that she would receive the good news much sooner.
As An Qi had mentioned, the shop owner was in a hurry to rent out his outlet that coincidentally was located next to Zhao Youlin’s outlet.
“Hi, I am Ms. Zhao, the boss of the dessert outlet next to yours.”
“Greetings, Ms. Zhao. I am Mr. Li.” The person who came for the negotiation was a middle-aged gentleman. He looked negotiable and friendly.
“Ms. Zhao, I learned that you plan to rent my shop. However, you already have one on your own. Why do you still need to rent another one? May I know what the purpose is?”
Zhao Youlin’s eyes flashed when she heard Mr. Li’s question. She smiled faintly as she said, “Recently, I found that my outlet is small. It’s inconvenient for my staff as well as the customers. As such, I plan to expand by renting another outlet.”
“Oh, that’s how it is.” Mr. Li smiled as he gave a nod. “Ms. Zhao, I am aware of your business, which is only situated next to mine. There are many customers visiting your outlet. However, the outlet is relatively smaller in size.”
Zhao Youlin smiled and asked back, “How about you, Mr. Li? Why do you want to rent your shop out all of a sudden? I am also aware that you’re having a good business.. Why do you still want to rent it out?”
