Chapter 561: Domineering Intimidation (1)
Mu Tingfeng had never thought that he was not the only one who had wanted to steal Zhao Youlin, but her own family also did not want her to be stolen away from them.
Mu Tingfeng knew that it was highly unlikely that Zhao Youlin would go against Duan Yarong and the rest of her group. As a result, his “abduction plan” was killed inside the cradle. Mu Tingfeng’s expression instantly darkened and he looked unhappy.
Zhao Youlin did not know if she wanted to laugh or cry when she saw Mu Tingfeng’s obvious dissatisfaction.
She hesitated for some time before she said, “Although I could not be transferred to the Mu Feng Group, you could pick me up after work.”
A glimpse of light was caught in Mu Tingfeng’s eyes. He, too, had thought of picking Zhao Youlin up after her work so that they could also enjoy candlelight dinners and watch movies together. These activities could increase their level of intimacy.
However, his offers were immediately turned down by Zhao Youlin. The reason was because Mu Tingfeng was too eye-catching. Besides, Zhao Youlin was accustomed to eating her meals at home. She was not a fan of candlelight dinners.
As a result, Mu Tingfeng was left with no choice but to settle for the second best option. He decided to personally deliver a lunchbox and a bouquet of flowers to Zhao Enterprise during lunch hour. While they could flaunt their affection publicly and increase their level of intimacy, it could also serve as a warning to those who l.u.s.ted after Zhao Youlin, as well as declare his owners.h.i.+p over her.
Since Zhao Youlin had taken the initiative to suggest that he pick her up after work, how could Mu Tingfeng possibly miss the opportunity?
Even though Mu Tingfeng was discreetly over the moon, he maintained a stoic expression and deliberately said with difficulty, “Alright, then.”
The corners of Zhao Youlin’s lips twitched slightly. She had long learned that Mu Tingfeng was someone with a cold appearance but a pa.s.sionate lover. How could she possibly have missed the hint of joy in Mu Tingfeng’s eye?
‘It’s clear that he almost died of happiness. Yet, he still acts as if he doesn’t care. I can’t bear to watch this anymore!’
Zhao Youlin rolled her eyes at him before tossing the book to the side. The next moment, she lifted the quilt and hugged her son who was already deep in sleep. She decided to ignore the man opposite her, whose thoughts and speech were inconsistent.
Mu Tingfeng and Zhao Youlin had a very long conversation. However, the child was not disturbed at all. His lips were slightly parted, and he was in deep slumber.
Zhao Youlin was sulky when she saw her son’s nonchalant look. She then stretched out her hand and pinched Joy’s small nose.
‘Little rascal, while I’m busy taking care of all your problems, you’re sleeping soundly over here. That’s so heartless of you!’
Joy was in his dreams when he felt his nose being pinched. He pouted his small lips, raised his small hands, and simply waved around.
Although Joy’s strength could not possibly hurt Zhao Youlin, she widened her eyes and continued pinching his nose, not letting it go.
Joy was uncomfortable and he struggled. He waved his small and was about to wake up. When Zhao Youlin saw this, she quickly let go of her hand.
After she stopped hara.s.sing him, Joy pouted his small lips, turned his back, and faced Mu Tingfeng.
Zhao Youlin was stunned. She looked in the direction Joy had turned, only to meet Mu Tingfeng’s teasing gaze. The next moment, she watched wide-eyed as Mu Tingfeng took her own little human-shaped pillow into his arms!
Zhao Youlin was enraged. These two were very annoying. They were each more difficult to please than the other, as if she owed them in a previous life.
Thinking of this, Zhao Youlin turned off the light at the side. She looked away to keep the adult and the child out of her sight.
As time pa.s.sed, the soft moonlight outside the window shone on them, casting an extremely heartwarming image.
Zhao Youlin was slowly falling asleep and had no idea that the man who had been hugging the child had slowly opened his eyes. He leaned in close to the sleeping Zhao Youlin and gave a peck on her cheek.
“Goodnight.” His deep and attractive voice rang out in the middle of the night with a trace of softness and indulgence.
Under the cold moonlight, without knowing when, the two adults and the child were hugging tightly with one another. It was an extremely heartwarming image that one could not bear to disturb them if they were to be greeted by this sight.
After a good night’s sleep, Zhao Youlin woke up early the next morning, only to find Joy, who had rolled back into her arms without knowing when it happened. She froze for a while before she happily planted a kiss on her son’s forehead.
After the holiday was over, Zhao Youlin sent Joy to kindergarten before she finally returned to Zhao Enterprise and continued her unfinished projects.
The biggest project at that moment was the one Zhao Youlin was in charge of when she first joined Zhao Enterprise. It was the same project in which Ye Yan and Han Yichen had invested in and had contributed to the success of the resort proposal, allowing it to be officially launched.
Right after they released the initial series of promotional videos, they received a sensational response from the general public. As soon as Zhao Youlin returned to the company, she convened the first major meeting by gathering all the chiefs of departments involved in this project to discuss the following promotional activities as well as the overall resort management operations.
“Today, all of us are here to discuss the estimated profit for the following quarters of this project.” Zhao Youlin sat in the main seat. She gave a faint smile as she took a commanding position over the department heads.
“Estimated profit?” Right after Zhao Youlin spoke, everyone inside the meeting room began to whisper among themselves.
Zhao Youlin was not in a hurry to say anything. She sat quietly and listened to the group of people discussing among themselves.
After a few minutes, someone took the lead and said, “General Manager, do you mean that you want us to prepare the budgeted turnover in advance for the next few quarters?”
“That’s right.” Zhao Youlin swept a glance across the crowd before she smiled faintly and said, “As a businesswoman, we are expecting a return on investment. Now that the investment is over, it’s only natural to a.n.a.lyze the return on our investment. Today, I am here to seek your opinion on this matter.”
Upon hearing her words, the audience exchanged another round of glances among themselves. When Zhao Youlin saw this, she added. “In other words, what are your thoughts on the project’s future prospects?”
After Zhao Youlin reminded them, they were stunned before they began to express their views.
“According to the incomplete statistics, the turnover of the resort during this period of time since its opening is flouris.h.i.+ng. We believe it will be better in the future.”
“I don’t want to hear this nonsense! I want accurate data.” Zhao Youlin quickly swept her gaze sharply across the crowd before she enunciated each and every word clearly, “For instance, based on the current growth rate, how long do we need before we could achieve breakeven for the initial or final investment?”
“Wait, General Manager, don’t you think it’s a bit too early to discuss this?”
“Too early, huh?” Zhao Youlin crossed her arms and stroked her chin as she stared at the crowd teasingly. The person who spoke a while ago felt a chill creeping down his spine under her stare. He trembled and his expression unwittingly turned white.
No one dared to speak up. Zhao Youlin continued after that. She snorted. “Most people are b.i.t.c.hy.. If they are not put under pressure at the right time, they will easily slip into their comfort zone and fail to prepare for the worst!”
