"If I want to hear from Therius, I won"t ask you to tell me about my mother," Emma commented."Hmm .. fine. As you wish," Xion nodded. "Princess Arreya is very famous in Akkadia because she had four magical powers. Actually five, but she hid her telemancy for a dozen years. You know that telemancers have a bad reputation in Akkadian."
"Why do they have a bad reputation?" asked Emma, not understanding.
"Uhm ... highly skilled telemancers are usually feared by others, and people will always be suspicious of them. Telemancers can control others to do what they want. They can even control people"s minds and force someone to kill themselves or kill others. Awful, isn"t it?"
Emma was stunned. Secretly, she was horrified at Xion"s explanation. During this time, she had never thought in that direction. She only used telemancy to read other people"s thoughts and influence them to obey her will.
She made Ren Hanenberg give up his access to the s.p.a.ceLab"s satellite, and then she made Haoran"s father allow them to travel to Shanghai to meet Haoran"s biological mother. Only that far.
She never imagined that she was actually able to control the minds of other people to kill themselves or others. Now, she realized that this telemancy was quite scary.
"And ... have you ever seen a telemancer secretly caused someone"s death?" asked Emma.
Xion suddenly fell silent. He remembered the events of two weeks ago. He thought Therius had attacked Haoran secretly to separate him from Emma and caused him to be in his current condition. But then Therius denied that he had anything to do Haoran being sick.
In this case, Xion inevitably had to trust his best friend"s words. Maybe Xion was imagining things and accused Therius of something that he didn"t do.
Finally, he shook his head. "No, I haven"t."
"Hmm ... I want to know more about telemancy and what I can do with this power," Emma sighed.
"You can ask Therius about that. I"m sure he will be happy to tell you," Xion said.
"As for aeromancy ... what is the coolest thing you can do?" Emma asked Xion, pretending not to hear him talk about Therius. Again.
"Hm ... I can move mountains, like literally," Xion said with a laugh. "I can turn the lake dry too. That one is pretty cool."
Emma had been rolling her eyes so many times while she was drinking and chatting with Xion this time, that she felt her eyes almost fall out of their sockets.
"Are you kidding me?" said the girl.
"I"m not kidding you," said Xion. "I can really move mountains if I want to. But I don"t do it carelessly or on purpose. I also still have a heart."
Emma looked closely at him and realized that Xion was telling the truth.
Crazy!
Really crazy!!
If she could have just half of Xion"s power now, Emma felt like she would be happy enough. She stared at the man with an envious look.
"So, my mother is famous in Akkadia because she has several powers, and she hid her telemancy for a dozen years?" she asked again, trying to turn the topic of conversation back to her mother.
"That"s right. Princess Arreya is a legend. Besides famous for being a multiple-element mage, she is also beautiful beyond compare. Plus, she was the crown princess of the Akkadian empire. She had everything," commented Xion. "So, many people were shocked to find out that Princess Arreya eloped with General Kaos.h.i.+n Stardust from Akkadia."
"Hmmm ..." Emma still didn"t understand why her parents decided to elope at the last minute. If they really loved each other, wasn"t there a better time to run away? Any man would feel furious and hurt if his future wife eloped with another man the night before their own wedding.
Emma could now understand the anger felt by the previous Crown Prince and his family when Princess Arreya disappeared. Surely they must feel outraged and humiliated and decided to hunt her parents down.
Emma thought that she would ask her parents why they did it once she met them. This had been a mystery that was bothering her for a long time.
"Then ... I heard from my mother that multiple-element mages are very rare. Is it still the case?"
Xion laughed. "Yes. There are less than 10 multiple-element mages in the whole country in the last century. I guess you"re lucky to meet triple-element mages like me and Therius, and we can even teach you. Once you have successfully trained your abilities with us, you will be just as famous as your mother."
"So.. there are still not many of you, multiple-element mages out there?" Emma asked again to confirm what she had heard. "And you and Therius are part of the special bunch?"
Xion nodded. "Yep."
"So, I know Therius is a telemancer, pyromancer, and aeromancer. You already know my capabilities. What about you?"
Xion realized that Emma only knew that he was an aeromancer. He and his big mouth had opened his own secret that he was a triple-element mage.
Shoot! What should he do? He didn"t want to let anybody else know that he was the Time Master.
"Hmm... can you guess?" Finally, he tried to dodge her question by asking her to guess.
"I have no idea," Emma shrugged. "Obviously you are not a s.p.a.ce Master."
Xion"s brows twitched. "Why did you say so?"
"Well... you told me that this s.h.i.+p wouldn"t need to bring a cargo s.h.i.+p if Therius could find a s.p.a.ce Master. Since it was obvious that they bring cargo s.h.i.+p, while you are here, then I can safely a.s.sume that you are not a s.p.a.ce Master."
Xion clapped in admiration. "Ahhh... you are indeed very smart."
"I told you, right?" Suddenly Therius chimed in from the lounge entrance. Both Emma and Xion quickly turn their heads toward his direction. They saw the prince walked in with graceful steps.
"We were talking about Princess Arreya just now. I am sure you can share with Emma more stories about her mother," Xion said with a smile.
Therius stared at Emma attentively. "What do you want to know?"
