There was a small number of disciples entering and exiting the dining hall at this time, more than in the morning, but still not that many.Sofie dragged Xiao Yao, who had stopped struggling, inside of the dining hall.
"C-can you release me now?" Xiao Yao said with a blush on her face, embarra.s.sed by being dragged through the entire sect grounds by a girl smaller than her.
"huh? Ah, okay. Come let"s get something to eat quickly! You have not eaten anything for breakfast, so you must be really hungry, right!?" Sofie said enthusiastically as she released Xiao Yao from her grip.
"Actually I don"t eat so much, so I"m not really that hungry-"
"Right…?" Interrupting what Xiao Yao was talking about, Sofie put on a splendid smile as she looked up at Xiao Yao.
"Y-yes" Xiao Yao was frightened by the sudden change in Sofie and quickly changed her answer.
"Good! Let"s go and get something to eat." Sofie said while making her way over to the tables filled with food.
Like in the morning, there were a few tables filled with all kinds of food, but you could also order something from a menu if you wanted to.
The food on the tables were mostly things like fruits, nuts, salads and other easy to eat things.
Sofie of course took a little of everything and had a plate dedicated to fruits and nuts in one hand, while the other hand had a plate filled with one of the world"s greatest salad mixes.
Satisfied, Sofie sat down at a table. Waiting for Xiao Yao to get something to eat as well.
"h.e.l.lo, would you like to order anything?" A waiter stopped by the table Sofie sat down at and asked. Clearly not seeing the giant pile of food on the two plates in front of her.
"Y-yes, please just pick something that tastes good for me!" Sofie said to the waiter as she didn"t really feel like wanting to ponder over what to pick and just wanted to start eating the different fruits and salad mix on the plates in front of her.
"Sure, I will get todays special for you." The waiter still oblivious to the plates already filled with food in front of Sofie wrote something down and made his way back to the kitchen, it was really a wonder how he missed the food in front Sofie…
"I really don"t understand how you can eat so much…" Xiao Yao said as she moved to a chair on the other side of the table, sitting directly in front of Sofie.
"Hm? You just…? Eat?" Not really understanding what Xiao Yao failed to understand, Sofie just looked over the "small" portion of food in front of Xiao Yao.
A simple salad and a few fruits and nuts on the side, that was everything present on Xiao Yao"s plate.
"You should eat more! Mother always used to say it was good to eat a lot!" Sofie said in a lecturing tone of voice. Clearly trying to educate Xiao Yao about the wonders found in eating a lot of food.
"N-no thanks, this is more than enough for me to eat…!"
So that is where it is from!?
Xiao Yao thought to herself, as she tried her best to refuse the food Sofie generously offered to her.
…
Time pa.s.sed and both Xiao Yao and Sofie soon finished eating.
"So, what should we do now? Go back?" Sofie asked turning her eyes away from the empty plates and towards Xiao Yao.
"Hm… Have you been to the sects training ground yet?" Xiao Yao asked Sofie instead of answering her question.
"No, what is the sects training ground?" Sofie asked curiously, while waiting for an answer.
"Hm… The sect training ground are like the training ground we have back at the house, just bigger. One of the benefits from the sects training ground is that there are other disciples there, which you can train together with or spar with." Xiao Yao answered dutifully.
Sofie was interested in the training ground and really wanted to go, but she suddenly remembered something important.
She couldn"t fight!
Sofie had never fought before, so sparring was a no go. Training her qi spell instead might be annoying for the most part, as not everybody could ignore a few hundred glowing symbols floating around wherever they please.
Thinking this far, Sofie felt like it would be a bad idea for her to go to the sects training ground, at least before she learned to fight properly.
"L-let"s not go." Coming to this conclusion, Sofie shared her idea of not going to the sects training ground.
"Why not?" Xiao Yao asked confused, as she was almost certain Sofie would go.
"I-I don"t know how to fight… and my training, w-will most likely disturb others…" Looking down at the ground ashamed, Sofie shyly explained her reason for not going.
"True, if you don"t know how to fight sparring would be kind of pointless…" Surprised, Xiao Yao understood. Sofie had just joined the sect and had not learnt how to fight yet. Compared to her, who had a grandfather make her go through barbaric training since young.
Shivering slightly upon remembering her grandfather"s training, Xiao Yao thought up something and returned her gaze to the waiting Sofie.
"Then, I will train you in fighting!" Saying so, Xiao Yao proudly stuck her chest forward while looking at Sofie full of enthusiasm.
Sofie blanked out when she heard Xiao Yao would train her in fighting but remembering how good she was with the spear back at their little training ground in the backyard of the house, Sofie felt a little more positive about it.
"Yes! Please teach me how to fight Xiao Yao!" looking at Xiao Yao full of expectations, Sofie acknowledged the idea of being trained in fighting by her.
"Yosh! Let"s first go back to the small training ground." Pleased at the reaction from Sofie, Xiao Yao started walking back towards their house.
"Yes!" Saying so, Sofie quickly followed after Xiao Yao.
…
Arriving at the small training ground in the backyard, Sofie was excited about getting trained about how to fight, that she completely forgot that she should be able to cast the qi spell [Conjure Fire Rabbit] by now.
"Okay then, let"s start training." Xiao Yao said as she walked into the small training ground a little behind Sofie.
"First of all, do you have any weapon you use?" Xiao Yao asked while looking around the small training ground. Maybe looking to see if there was any new wooden weapons present.
"No!" Sofie answered without hesitation, she had fought before, let alone used a weapon.
Wait a second… D-did the stick I used to chase around some of the others in the village count as a weapon!?!
"Okay, then we will start of with hand to hand combat." Not letting Sofie finish her train of thought, Xiao Yao interrupted her.
"hand to hand combat?" looking puzzled, Sofie asked while tilting her head slightly.
"hand to hand combat is one of the basics of fighting, we will start with that as it should be easy to learn the basics for it." Xiao Yao said as she moved in front of Sofie with an ominous smile slowly creeping up onto her lips.
…
The rest of the day was nothing short of painful, as Sofie was "carefully" taught by Xiao Yao how to fight unarmed and without any weapon.
Weirdly, Yue Wan only appeared sometime after both of them had eaten dinner and went straight to bed.
