A library interior plate, having the inscription "D. D. LE LEU D"AUBILLY, _dicat qui grat.i.tud coelo sculp Delaitre_."

Beneath the design is a small shield, bearing azur, a chevron or, between three wolves" heads. The D"Aubilly is an old-established Remois family, to whom the artist was under obligations.

This interesting plate is reproduced in "Les Bibliophiles Remois," p. 103.

Pierre Deloysi, styled _Le Vieux_, was a goldsmith and coin engraver in Besancon.

Engravings by him are now very rare.
