The next day, the two girls had the biggest headache of their lives. They were sitting on their desk, with their heads in their arms. It was funny to see the two most chirpy girls so dead in the morning.
Yoona was especially disappointed in herself for drinking too much. She should"ve controlled herself better but she couldn"t resist drinking while eating the yummy Korean barbeque. It was just a match made in heaven.
Funnily enough, although they were both the most hungover, they were the first ones to come to the office. On the other hand, Lucas still hadn"t come yet. It was weird to see the young chef so late for work; he was usually the one that was strict about being on time.
Perhaps, he was talking to an important person or doing another task. Lucas wasn"t the type to be late for no reason.
The sound of footsteps entered Yoona"s ears. She lifted her head and turned to see who it could be.
It was Lucas, just like she expected.
But for some reason, there was a troubled expression on his face. Unlike his usual confident self, a hint of nervousness shone from his eyes.
"Hey Lucas," Yoona greeted.
He turned around and nodded. "Good morning."
Eunha didn"t even lift her head. She just stayed, laying her head against the surface and waved her hand instead. "Hi."
There was a slight pause, almost unnoticeable, before Lucas replied. "Hey."
And once he made his way to his desk, the look quickly disappeared from his face, revealing the same Lucas that they all knew. "You guys look terrible."
"Why are you blessed with great drinking skills again?" Eunha asked.
Lucas pursed her lips. A bit hesitant to speak. "Genes I guess."

She placed her hand on her forehead. "Well, you"re a lucky b.i.t.c.h. Honestly, after taking another sip out of my drink I totally blacked out."
"Another drink?" Yoona asked. "Did you guys go for a second round?"
A giggle escaped Eunha lips as she recalled what happened last night. "No. Basically, I knew we ordered too much so I put a bottle in my bag for later. And after talking to Lucas, my drunk self wanted more and that"s when I blacked out."
Yoona widened her mouth and looked over at her blonde friend. "Lucas! You should"ve stopped her."
He raised his hands up in defence. "I tried, but this girl has some real strength when she"s drunk. She already had everything down before I could do anything about it."
Eunha raised her head and placed her hand against her forehead. "That"s why I have a monster headache…"
Then she turned towards Lucas. "What happened afterwards?"
"Well…" Lucas said. A deep sigh escaped his lips, and perhaps Yoona was going crazy, but she could see a hint of redness on his cheeks. "I took you home. That was it."
Eunha blinked for a moment, trying to recall, before nodding. "Okay. Well, thanks for bringing me back home. I didn"t throw up on you did I?"
"No," he said.
Eunha chuckled. "Well, if I did, I wouldn"t be alive right now. You would be deathly angry at me."
He scratched the back of his head. "True."
Noticing that something was wrong with Lucas"s behavior, Eunha c.o.c.ked her head and leaned forward. "Are you okay? You"re acting weird today."
"No," he replied with a growl. He looked terribly annoyed.
"Nevermind, you"re normal." Perhaps, she read too deeply into his actions. Eunha turned towards Yoona. "Do you need some pain relievers?"
Yoona nodded. "Yes please."
---
Lucas had no idea what to do.
Actually he did, but it was weird acting so normal considering the events that happened last night. Just seeing Eunha at the office made his body tense.
In fact, the reason to why he was late was because he felt awkward seeing her.
He shouldn"t be like this, but recalling yesterday"s events made it tough.
While outside at the park, the two had talked about Lucas"s "feelings" or the emotions that used to be in his heart. For the first time, Eunha and Lucas had talked on a more personal level and it was his first time being vocal about it as well. He was never one to talk about his feelings. He was always the listener.
It was nice, actually letting out his true thoughts.
Of course, he wasn"t ready for the events to come afterwards.
After that, Eunha put herself in a terrible position: becoming terribly drunk. She suddenly latched herself onto him. This was the first time this had ever happened.
"You know," Eunha began with her arm around his. "I"m glad to see you like this… What"s the word? Oh yeah vulnerable. It makes you more likeable."
Lucas tried to get her hands off of him. He grimaced. "Okay."
She grabbed his face. "Are you still sad?"
"No?"
"But your eyebrows are furrowed… You look mean. Super mean. I"m scared."
Lucas stared at her and let out a deep sigh. A forced smile took over his face. "Happy?"
She giggled. "Very. You look much cuter like this!"
He rolled his eyes. "Okay. Now let"s go home. Come on."
Still at this time, everything was fine. Lucas continued the usual routine of when Eunha was drunk. He called a taxi and sat in the backseat with her. By now, he was so familiar with where her house was and the pa.s.sword. He had seen it so many times.
"Your girlfriend drank a bit too much," the taxi driver commented.
Lucas nodded. "Yeah. It"s a pain in the a.s.s."
He didn"t bother to correct the taxi driver. It was better on his end if people thought that Eunha was his girlfriend, rather than them not being in that relationship. After all, she was drunk out of her mind.
"Lucas," Eunha mumbled. "I want to hurry and go home and sleep."
"We will get there," Lucas said. "Be patient."
"But I can"t," she whined.
Lucas let out a sigh. How annoying. He wasn"t going to allow her to drink this much ever again.
Once they arrived to the front of her apartment, Lucas paid and thanked the taxi driver. He made a reminder for tomorrow to ask Eunha for the money back .
He helped her walk by putting his arm around her. She was stumbling a lot while she walked, but after helping her so many times drunk, he wasn"t having too hard of a time.
They went up the elevator and finally, to the front of her room.
A happy sigh escaped Lucas"s lips. They finally made it.
Just like always, he punched the numbers into the keypad and opened the door. He carried her to her room and flung her on the bed.
He stretched his arms, thankful that the weight was finally off of him.
"I"m leaving now," he said.
Eunha stopped rolling in her bed and stared right at him. "Wait."
Another grunt escaped his lips. "What is it?"
"I need to tell you something."
Seeing her puppy eyes, Lucas decided to give in one more time. He didn"t want to deal with her drunk whining if he refused.
He leaned in, placing his ear near her to hear what she had to say. However, to his surprise, she grabbed his face with her hands.
"Thank you. Here"s your reward."
And then she kissed him.
Back to the present, Lucas had kissed girls in the past so he shouldn"t be affected by this. After all, Eunha was clearly drunk and there was no meaning behind it. But for some reason, there was something lingering within him.
What was it? He couldn"t forget about that moment.
Was he going crazy? Probably. The fact that he was feeling this way about Eunha out of all people meant that he should go get his brain checked or something. She was basically an annoying sister to him.
However, there was a feeling that was telling him otherwise.
What was it?
