As the CEO, Minhyun"s main duty was overseeing meetings and ultimately making the important decisions. This meant that his day mainly consisted of listening to others talk about the direction of the company. Considering that MH was one of his top priorities, he was generally interested in these meetings. The only problem was that some of these b.a.s.t.a.r.ds were terrible at their job.
Minhyun stared at the screen with his arms crossed. The expression on his face was dark. They came from the top universities. Were hired through a vigorous screening process. And all their ideas were run through multiple people. So why were their presentations so lackl.u.s.ter?
The presenter was scared s.h.i.tless, but continued to speak. They had worked hard for two weeks for this. The idea needed to pull through no matter what.
"As you can see, if we continue with the plan, we estimate an increase of-"
"Stop," Minhyun"s deep voice commanded.
Frightened, the presenter stayed silent.
Minhyun stood up from his seat, not wanting to waste his precious time anymore. "That was terrible. This will never work."
There was no need to explain what went wrong. It was a waste of words. Surely, they would figure it out themselves if they were smart enough. Overall, the idea wouldn"t work in the current market. The trend was over. They needed to look at the future.
He turned towards the higher-ups before facing the Director of the Marketing Department. "How could you allow this idea to come through?"
The old man cleared his throat nervously. "I-."
"Make up for this or there will be consequences." Sharp and concise, he didn"t bother to acknowledge any response nor give second chances. He then turned to Secretary Kim who had just come back from a washroom break. "Lets go."
"Yes sir," Secretary Kim said as he hurried to Minhyun"s side. He snuck a pitiful glance at the frightened presenter but didn"t utter a word.
Only silence was present as they walked out of the room towards Minhyun"s office. Everyone who saw the CEO did not utter a word.
Secretary Kim followed silently. In his mind, all he was thinking about was Yoona being in the office. From what he could tell, Minhyun had forgotten that Yoona was going to visit. Since his boss was obviously in a terrible mood, this was the chance to make him happy again.
Maybe it was all the romantic dramas he secretly fawned over, but he was quite excited to see Minhyun"s reaction. The cold CEO surprised by his beloved? It was a sight to see!
"Welcome back Mr. Chae Minhyun," one of the top floor receptionists said.
Minhyun didn"t acknowledge her and continued to walk forward.
The sensors in the hallways detected his presence and his office doors opened just in time for him to step in. And when he entered the room, he was surprised. Sitting at his desk, with a flirtatious expression on her face, was his girlfriend.
What was she doing here? How did she even enter? The only people with access to this room was him and Secretary Kim...
He turned around to find that Secretary Kim had disappeared from the room as well. The doors were even closed. Little did he know, the skinny man had his back against the door, giggling away.

Minhyun shook his head. That sneaky secretary. What was that man planning on doing?
And then he remembered that Yoona had texted him saying that she was going to visit him. After that stressful meeting, he had totally forgotten. He took pride in his great memory, so how could he had missed this? He was ashamed of himself. But nonetheless, he was happy that she was here at this exact moment.
He turned his attention back to her.
"You just blow me away sometimes."
Yoona raised an eyebrow. "Figuratively or physically? Cause it applies to both."
A chuckle escaped his lips. "You know what I mean."
Minhyun walked over to her and placed his arms around Yoona, palms flat on the desk. He leaned forward so that their faces almost touch. "It"s weird having my two worlds collide. My office life and my love life. I"m not complaining though."
He leaned in towards her ear. "You look hot sitting at my desk."
"Oh really?" She wrapped her arms around his neck. "I can make this hotter?"
"Well-"
Yoona laughed. "Just kidding. No naughty business up here, there are windows everywhere around this room."
Minhyun jokingly winked. "I can close the blinds."
She pushed him away slightly. "Funny Mini. I didn"t come here for s.e.x. I came here to talk to you and stuff."
He c.o.c.ked his head, before letting out a chuckle. He stood up and straightened the suit. Then he signalled for her to sit down beside of him at the couches in front of his desk.
She complied and sat beside him.
"Alright. What did you want to talk about," Minhyun asked.
Yoona placed her index finger on her chin. "Well, first off, I was wondering why the h.e.l.l you have your own private staircase?"
He scratched the back of his head. "Oh that? If the elevators shut off due to fires or another reason, then I need a way out."
"And you can"t use the general stairs…?"
He shrugged. "My father constructed the building. I had no say."
"Okay," Yoona said while playfully poking his arm. "I believe you."
"Was that sarcasm?"
She shook her head. "I swear I believe you."
And then she giggled. "I have another question."
"What is it?"
Placing her arm around his, she leaned in towards his ear. "Why did you visit my office today?"
Minhyun avoided her gaze. "To check up to see how you were doing."
Yoona pursed her lips. "You don"t need to check up on me any more. It"s going to make things too obvious if you see me at work often. Besides, I"m working with my closest friends, I"m going to be fine…"
Then she remembered what Secretary Kim had told her in the stairway. The incoming possible war. She had to be careful as Minhyun would surely be worried if anything happened to her.
"But-" she continued. "I will text you once in a while to update you on how things are doing okay?"
Minhyun was more than satisfied with that. After all, he knew that he shouldn"t visit her often as well. "Alright. It"s a deal."
