Chapter 508: Dream: Jian Yichen Pays His Respects

“Haha,” Qin Yufan chuckled softly. Her smile was filled with contempt and arrogance. “Are you trying to scam me or something? First, you say words to scare me. Then, after scaring me, you tell me that you’re going to sell me a way to break free of my fate? So, how much money do you want from me?”

“I don’t want money. Rather, I want a favor.”

“No,” Qin Yufan replied.

She didn’t need to rely on others. That meant that she would not rely on a woman of unknown origin.

Even her own father could become an enemy. And thus, what was the point of trusting other people in the first place?

As of now, the only person that Qin Yufan trusted was herself.

“Okay, that’s fine. If you believe me at any time in the future, please contact me.”

After saying that, Jian Yichen pushed a business card towards Qin Yufan.

Qin Yufan turned her head and glanced at the business card.

There was no name on the business card. However, there was a contact number on it.

Then, she glanced at Jian Yichen.

Jian Yichen had a confident and calm expression on his face. It was as though he knew that she would contact him sooner or later.

Jian Yichen snapped his fingers at the bartender. He paid for both their orders.

Then, he turned and said to Qin Yufan: “I’ll pay for the drinks today. If you find out that I’m right someday, please remember to pay for my drinks in the future.”

After saying that, Jian Yichen left the bar.

Qin Yufan looked at the business card on the table for a long time. Eventually, she picked the card up and put it away.

She didn’t know why she did such a thing. It was more than likely that the woman just now was a scammer.

###

At night, Jian Yiling had a dream again.

This time, she dreamed of a grave.

It was her grave.

Zhai Yunsheng hadn’t kept his promise. He hadn’t scattered her ashes into the sea. Instead, he found a place with good Feng Shui and gave her a burial there.

There was a tombstone and words were engraved onto it. Finally, there was a portrait of her on the tombstone.

In the dream, Jian Yiling was looking at everything around her. It was as though she was suspended in mid-air.

There was a person who came to pay their respects to her.

The person was dressed in black. They held a cl.u.s.ter of white chrysanthemums in their hands.

After he took off the sungla.s.ses, Jian Yiling saw Jian Yichen in front of her. Jian Yuchen had a solemn expression on his face.

Although it was a dream, when Jian Yiling saw the tombstone, she was fixed in place for a long period of time.

She knew that she died in the original novel. However, a completely different feeling filled her heart when she saw the tombstone.

Jian Yichen’s fingers gently touched the tombstone. He slowly stroked the photo on the tombstone.

After a long time, he placed down the flowers. He muttered to himself:

“Sorry Yiling. I failed to protect you. You left this world by yourself. I will remember that I owe you in my next life. If there is an afterlife, please remember to come and collect this debt from me.”

“Jian Yunnao became crazy after He Yan showed him the video. He completely broke down. Your mother didn’t hold up either. After seeing the video, she fell ill.”

“Jian Yubo got arrested as well. He stabbed He Yan with a knife. Ahh, he was such an intelligent and witty person as well. Yet, he did something so stupid. When I went to visit him in prison, I asked him why he chose such a stupid way to solve the problem. Do you know what he said to me? He said it didn’t matter now. Nothing matters anymore.”

“He Yan didn’t die. The knife didn’t hit any of her vitals. The hospital saved her life. However, she ended her marriage with our second uncle. She still managed to get half of the family’s a.s.sets though.”

“And I guess, a lot of things happened during this period of time. These things completely destroyed the Jian family.”

Everyone outside of the family believed that the reason for the downfall of the Jian family was because they had always spoiled and pampered Jian Yiling.
